RTJ Applications
[Disclaimer]: We will not be using any errata or 3rd party supplements for now.  It's for the sake of simplicity and makes it easier to keep track of everything.

As stated elsewhere, you will be playing a character who, one way or another, was roped into the Cleaners and now, their job is to protect the nation of Bon from the Filth and aid in efforts to expand into territory previously threatened by existing Filth mutants.

In your RTJ, please fill out the following information as well as the ten-minute background in the next post.

Character Name:
Motivation: (For joining the Cleaners)

Appearance: (Be as detailed as you want, include pictures if you feel like it)

Character Background:

Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind. 5 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged!

[Example: Lu Bu]

 1. He is the son of a noted nobleman
 2. He was a member of the city guard before joining the Cleaners
 3. Lu Bu joined the Cleaners after a large political scandal, in which he (and several of his fellows that he'd convinced into taking part) was caught in a bribery ring that was also linked to sex trafficking.  His father pulled some strings in the courts and had him moved from his cushy job into that of the Cleaners
 4. Lu Bu is a narcissist of the highest order, and this extends to his prowess in battle.  The problem being that his inflated ego is sommewhat justified in his pride concerning his skill with polearms.
 5. Lu bu is, at heart, a perfectionist.  He sees himself as the best because his father has held him to outrageously high standards all his life.  He is very much used to being the center of attention, which is where his ego has arisen from.

Step 2: List at least two goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.

 1. Lu Bu wants more than anything to become the kind of son that his father would be proud of.
 2. I'd like to see Lu Bu's ego bubble popped and have him be turned into a good person.

Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character. I will also be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so expect some surprises!

 1. Lu Bu is terrified of dealing with those infected by the Filth.  He grew up in a household in which the disease and those stricken with it were the bogeyman.  However, his ego will refuse to let him admit his terror before them.
 2. Lu Bu's father is actually a cultist of Asmodeus.  The reason that he's been hard on his son is in order to form him into the kind of tyrannic personality that would be well-suited to lead the cult that he is currently the master of.
 3. (Example of the kind of secret that the GM might make): Lu Bu's mother is actually a former serving girl that his father had a long-term affair with.  This fact is a sore point for Lu Bu's father and could be the undoing of his entire family in the eyes of the Royal Council if they found out he wasn't purely noble.

Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.

 1. One of his allies from the city guard was the captain that managed his shift, a noted beauty named Diaochan.  She is a cunning woman that plays the role of his air-headed companion in order to take advantage of his noble birth.  Diaochan is the kind of woman who is simply out for herself, but is clever enough to help out her 'marks' on occasion to throw them off.
 2. Another of Lu Bu's entourage is the incorrigible trickster Sun.  A devilishly clever young man, his constant pranks and jokes never cease to amuse the nobleman.  Not to mention that he's pretty good in a fight (not quite as good as Lu Bu of course).
 3. One of his fellow members of the town guard, a young woman known as Mao, is the one that blew the top off of his bribery ring.  She despises his flagrant narcissism, as well as his privileged lifestyle.  Thanks for her help on bringing his corruption out into the open, she was made into a watch captain.  However, she is very frustrated that he's somehow managed to avoid the punishment that he oh so clearly deserves.  If she was given the means to, she would most definitely make trouble for him.

Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

 1. Lu Bu is meticulous about his appearance.  Oft times he'll avoid working harder than he has to in order to avoid dirtying himself with work that someone else could be doing.
 2. Although he has no particular talent for magic, Lu Bu is is versed a bit in the subject.  His demeanour towards arcane spellcasters approaches respectful.  He is fairly knowledgeable on arcane matters but seeks to learn more.
 3. Lu Bu's most treasured possession is a fine horse that his father gifted him called Red Hare.  It's quite possibly the first (and maybe only) thing in his life that he treats with love and respect.
