Amora korzech:
My stat rolls are silly... but I think I can spin an interesting character out of it.

Also... screw you dice roller... I roll a 5 on 1 of the statistic rolls... So I reroll it... Gives me a 6. :P

Rejoice, for it could be worse. Especially with this site's dice roller...

Re: Character Creation Discussion
As noted the spread lets me make something according to what I was initially expecting in either case... Since one result was a 20, another was 17, 15, and 10. It's just moderately depressing that those are the four highest out of the stats. lol.

Question for the GM: Can I purchase common lore: Machine cult and common lore: Tech as elite advances? It's silly that the Factor of the Lathe doesn't get to have those skills or that tech priests don't start with them. <.<;

I guess I need to get this book you're referencing. Anyway, yeah those skills as elite advances is fine.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
It's the Lathe worlds book. I can provide write ups on the mechanics. I just felt grabbing that might be a nice way to differentiate myself from the Tech Priest theBaron wished to make.

In either case, Thank you. I may not purchase them immediately but it'll be nice to be able to grab them later.

Alright everyone, with permission of the GM, I am going to be playing a Radical Tech-Priest. My question to you all: What makes you less queasy to work with, a member of the Maglysian Tech-Heresy who is Pro-Imperium (if in a very, very, very warped and twisted way) or a budding Phaenonite.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
I like the former more. Especially as it can be spun in all sorts of ways. I played a Maglysian tech heretic once before who was only found out later by the Inquisition and only entered service so that the brilliance of the man wouldn't go to waste.

Granted... if it's a detail we're aware of about you... My tech priest won't be terribly fond of you or your methods... but then she won't look like a real tech priest by the Cult's standards anyway.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Got my roll on for my Arbitrator

Home World: Void Born

Tyear rolled 4,7,15,14,16,15,9,6,8 using 2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10,2d10. Stats Roll.

RRed the 4 to a 6

so my stats:

WS: 6 + 20 = 26
BS:15 + 20 = 35
S: 16 + 15 = 31
T:  7 + 20 = 27
Ag: 8 + 20 = 28+2=30 (Div)
Int: 14 + 20=34
Per: 6 + 20= 26
Wp: 15 + 25= 40
Fel 9 + 20 = 29

7 wounds/3+1=4 (Div) Fate/63 geld/

Well it seems I've got a decent enough character:

A void born Arbitrator born amidst a War Ship, with a fairly decent statline.

The only thing that's somewhat worrying is my amount of wounds, but I doubt we'll see a lot of combat right?

Name: Elise Milicent
Homeworld: Forge World

WS 21
BS 29
S 26
T 30
Ag 27
Int 47
Per 35
WP 32
Fel 45

Looking at that with stat boosts thrown in and advances purchased with the initial XP.

As the GM specified this'd be a primarily horror and investigative game... I'd assume only combat where it'd be thematically appropriate... and most likely those being extractions from various operational sites. <.<;

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Incase it helps anyone's character creation:

You've never met the Inquisitor (to your knowledge) who's decided you'd make a good acolyte thus you were never told "You're good at this and this so the Inquisition needs you." but certainly anyone with an ego can fill in the blanks themselves.

You've all been called to assemble at the Tricorn Palace without any prior knowledge of each other. (Unless two of you want to say you've met before, I think that would be an okay number.)

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Potentially the Baron and I might know each other given our shared affiliations to the Cult Mechanicus but if he's a known heretek, he's probably not allowed anywhere near the lathe worlds. Depends on how he wishes to play up his involvement with the Maglysian tech heresy.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Well looks like almost everyone is done. If I get everyone's character by tomorrow morning we'll go ahead and start otherwise I'll start the game on Friday.

(No rush per say, as long as you have your character's career path, description and name that'll be enough to start with.)

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Do we still need to fill out our char sheets, take some things for the original 400xp, or are we just going to 'wing' it for now?

Just wondering.

Spend your thrones if you've got them, buy your advances and skills, and then from there I suppose we do wing it and get to know each other.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
My character sheet is done! Well... minus equipment. I am good to go.

As for us knowing one another, Elise... after reading and re-reading the Inquisitor's Handbook (and briefly considering reviving an old Cleric character I had; maybe I'll use him if this character bites the dust or goes terminally insane) I found that its often the hunters who absorb fragment of Mal data and begin to use forbidden methods to hunt hereteks. Thus you'd know Interdictum X by reputation as a hunter of Hereteks.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
If Elise has a reputation it's probably largely one as a Factor and her diplomatic exploits. So in some regards her choices are noble as she's embracing imperfections of the flesh to better serve the Cult and Omnissiah... and in other ways... it's easier for a more traditional tech priest to look down on her as lesser for such a sacrifice.

Re: Character Creation Discussion
Yes fill out your character sheets and spend the 400 xp. Just create your character as you usually would.

Also, something to consider while you're making your character and so that I can try to make them happen while in game:

What kind of stuff do you see your character doing or what kind of things do you want your character to do?

How would you handle a dead body in a room with no visible signs of injury (at least when you're looking at it from the doorway)?

Things of that nature.

Alright, could you perhaps post a char sheet, or do we need to make one from scratch?

Alright.

So does anyone have any experience with games with this many players? Hopefully half the party is just sitting around being bored.

Also I think the posting rate should be at least once every three days with the weekend (Saturday + Sunday) counting as just one day cause sometimes weekends get busy for people. That should give everyone enough time to post.
