I wonder whether our missing two-months for the journey from Silverymoon to Tilverton might be my fault?

In msg #25 I mentioned to the DM in a PM, "According to his character sheet, Gedd still had a small pouch + 6 blue stones in his pocket. Either they have gone missing or they didn't explode or whatever disaster was supposed to happen when teleportation magic was used on them."

I didn't get any direct response but in msg #27 the DM posted, Thungor remembers that Berta had asked a question and replies, "It's the month of Marpenoth, also called Leafall. (This corresponds with October in our calendar). The trees of the Dalelands are just beginning to turn a rainbow of colors."

Not an unreasonable way to work around the dilemma posed by booby-trapped magic items left-over from the previous adventure, I suppose. If I'm right we don't need to worry too much about the significance of that time loss (although you might also remember a number of previous in-game theories of mine that turned out to be pure nonsense. ;o)

Interesting point, but my guess is probably not, since it turned out we were decoys after all.  I don't think those stones we carried from A to B (and everywhere in between) actually would have caused the teleportation problems that they were reputed to - though we had to be given that false information to keep the pretence going.  :>

What Kevin said  :)

My working assumption, at the moment, is that he just used the base starting date in the new module, and didn't think to check back on what he had said in the previous thread.  While I found us a DM, I don't think I found us the most innovative, or 'involved' DM.  While he plays in other games (one I run)  his characters sit at the back and watch -  then just get involved for the combats.  :)  As for the Blue Stones, I have all the stones we carried from Neverwinter - hey were loaded on pack horses and carried with us. I have all the horses packs upstairs in the room, and they contain all the  gear we carried with us.  eg

- Large tent
- Survival Kit
- 2 Water Barrels
- 52 TrailRations
- Cask of Oil (8 pints remaining)
- 44x Oil Flasks
- The stones

And we should find the two pack horses as well as our riding horses in the stables  :)

The stones are describes ad  "He recognizes them and identifies them for what they are, worthless blue chalcedony, which he specifically says comes from Vaasa" - and that hasn't been checked particularly well either. According to the PF rules, chalcedony is a semi-precious stone worth 50gp each (when cut and polished etc) -  I was hoping to get 5 or 10 gp for each of them. WE have tattoos, and bracelets as mementos of our earlier adventures, and I am hoping to do the same with these.  We might be able to trade then four three masterwork rings  :)  And then (possibly)  have them enchanted later.   Maybe get a +2 cooking skill put on them ....

Certainly worth a try to claim we still have the stones and want to sell them. Don’t know if we will have any luck with that though. But playing a game for three years without gaining enough experience to level up and no treasure to spend at the end of it is not exactly very satisfying. If not for the joy of our Roth family role playing I doubt I would have stuck it out this long.

In his favour, he's lasted far longer than every other GM that was prepared to take on the Roths !  <grins>

Maybe we got some inferior or badly flawed Chalcedony ?!!  :P

I'm just enjoying the ride - as younger brother says, the role playing between our characters.  I'm less fussed about what we're actually doing at any point or whether we get XP, though admittedly slightly concerned that most encounters in the last adventure could've been TPK at any moment if we made the wrong choice, but I'm in another of Chronicler's games and we've been getting reasonable encounters (and XP), so it may just have been that adventure wasn't right for us.   I think the new adventure is at least level appropriate, so we'll see what happens !

XP -  Lets ask the question :)

TPK -  I got the impression that it was written so that there was always a way out for the GM.  It always seemed as if he had built in wiggle room.  I might well be wrong on that, though ...

As to the staying and RP comment - exactly.
