Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

Are you waiting on me? I was waiting on the guards, but I guess this is a suitably theatrical moment. There's Smoke's signal! :D

I hope my description of the kite-thing is about what you had in mind.

I was just giving the other group enough cycles to catch up to the point where they would hear gunfire.

S'all good.

Stanley Newton:
In his free time, Stanley had done some initial research on hypnotising Sereth.  If it was ever necessary, he didn't want it to be less effective or fail due to the Draconians reptilian nature.

And it must have worked.  I mean, you're still alive and all. :)

He hypnotised him into agreeing. And into forgetting about it afterwards. :)

Stanley is really the Master. I mean, he hasn't picked a portrait, so he could look like anyone...

It was all subliminal, saying the right word at the right time and seeing how Sereth reacts to bright lights. :)

No, I meant research as in reading Draconian medical books and looking at how non-mammalian animals are typically hypnotised*. Not research as in actual hypnotising Sereth. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

* I have no idea if that was real hypnosis or just some trick, but I vaguely recall seeing a video of someone hypnotising all sorts of animals like dogs, goats, and chickens. Maybe even snakes, but that sounds a bit weird.

Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

if Stan has a watch that says "embrace my majesty", both him and watch are getting shoved into a black hole.

Or if "Newton" is some weird anagram.

If Stan explodes into golden light, he's getting turbopistoled ;)

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

Imagine one of those Youtube vidoes or blog posts - PROOF STANLEY NEWTON IS THE MASTER, with some fan stringing together references from classic Who and the 2005 series as well as all of Stanleys appearances as "proof" Stanley is the Master in hiding.

Maybe his transitional appearance post-Simm, pre-Missy?

Missy: "Oh, the Traveller, I know her quite well. I mean, I was her companion for oh, like, 3 years? Blue. Kangs. Are. Best!"

Stanley can't be the Master: sure they are both known for hypnotising people, but Stanley only uses his skills for good.

Isaac Newton was a Master of the Royal Mint :p

Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

To be fair, the Master's hypnosis (at least, Delgado and Ainley versions) is a bit more powerful than the hypnosis Stanley does.

I actually really like the classic-series Masters; but Simm and Missy really annoy me.

How many guards remain in the courtyard? Are any of these Draconians (especially the guards) wearing the long robes and baggy sleeves they had in "Frontier in Space"?

Apparently, the diceroller does not dislike Sereth fighting as much as it dislikes him using diplomacy.

I think I've recapped the situation there fairly completely.  The yoinked uniforms that the Draconians are wearing are relatively functional but they have plenty of grabbable bits nevertheless as you remember.

Sereth:

No kidding.  And yes, it's very nasty.  The dude is tough, but you got full damage on him: he is straight up dead if you want him to be.

Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

I'd rather he's just knocked out. The only person that I can see Sereth really letting die would be Lestasel; but even there he'd lean towards capture.

Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

I can see that.  In this milieu, there are probably severe laws, to say nothing of an horrific taboo, against simply spilling blood in the presence of the Throne.  Someone as highly placed as Sereth would certainly have dispensation in situations like this.  But proper form, of course, is all. :)

So make his incapacitation as awesome as you wish.

Re: OOC (Clarifications, Etc.: Second Incarnation)

It does not presently look as though any bad guys are intending to put up any more of a fight.  Unless something major changes.

Probably futile death-by-SWAT-team charges would be in character for people willing to follow Lestasel's lead, but it also feels somewhat out of genre as well as getting in the way of Sereth's confrontation.

But the audience is looking forward to the big finale sword-duel!

And I'm certain the scene of Smoke bouncing off a Draconian was set to the Mario tune and uploaded to Youtube. :D
