13a: Raging Rapids

Caught up in the current, Magnus thrusts his legs in wide swinging motions behind him, watching the shore pass along at a significant clip.  Still, even without the support of the ground he manages to keep his head above the surface often enough.  Taking a brief turn of his head, Magnus realizes quickly that the bank where he had set foot into the river is significantly upriver and he can no longer see the others what so ever.

Back at the shore, the others seem unwilling to leave Magnus's fate to test and while Rondald suits himself up to dive into the river after him, Judoc has other ideas.  With but the brief whisper of a few words under his breath, Judoc places a hand upon Rondald and within a moment the seafarer is hovering off the ground like a hummingbird midair.  Taking another moment or two to gain his bearings, Rondald shoots off like an arrow after Magnus, taking a bit of cordage from Gustav's equipment with which to assist the minotaur.  It is but the brief span of half a minute before Rondald is hovering above Magnus, his rope gripped in both hands.

OOC:  I've separated you guys from the others for the time being due to your distance from the group.  Rondald, since you can't reference the other thread at this point, Judoc mentioned that your spell would only last a minute and you would guess thirty seconds of that has been spent just catching up.  If you want to lower the rope, go ahead and make a roll against DX.  Magnus, if you want to grab the rope, first roll against swimming, then against either ST or DX, your choice.  Otherwise you can keep swimming to the shore.

Raging Rapids

Magnus watched at the shore rushed by in the current, but did not change his pace, he kicked with his hooves and used his right hand to pull him along while the left grasped the rim of the shield that was partially under him.

But such was the roar of the water and the focus the Minotaur was exerting that he did not even notice Rondald until the man was right above of and in front of him.

Magnus seemed quite amused by the trick, and he smiled and shook his head slightly as he saw the man, but showed no signs of distress, and continued to kick himself along towards the opposing shore.

Raging Rapids

In reply to Magnus (msg # 2):

Rondald was taken a bit by surprise, but accepted the offer nonetheless. He found the sensation odd all the same, and looked forward to having his feet back on firm ground.

The bullheaded creature was stubborn, so Rondald moved on ahead of him to the shore, with the rope ready in case Magnus changed his mind.

Once he reached the other side, on firm ground, he felt much more comfortable. He went to where Magnus was closing on the back and threw him a rope as soon as he was close enough.

Raging Rapids

Deciding not to press the matter, Rondald flies to the opposite shore, alighting on the bank safely before he continues in a light jog to the south, trying to maintain pace with Magnus as he continues to flow downstream.  It is another two minutes perhaps before the minotaur closes in on the shore close enough for Rondald to throw the rope to haul him in, however this is just at the point where Magnus stands up into waist deep water, so the gesture seems somewhat unnecessary.

Walking the last bit of the river without issue, Magnus pulls himself up on the bank, his fur sodden and his backpack dripping rivulets of water down that ripple down his leg.  The cool afternoon day's light breeze cuts like a knife against his exposed body and not for the first time, Magnus finds himself thankful that he has a full coat of warmth even entirely nude.

OOC:  Both of you guys made it to the shore safely.  Magnus, roll vs. HT-2 and suffer 1 fatigue for each point you fail.  It's hard to guess, but you guys would imagine you're probably a quarter mile or more downstream from the point where you got in.

In reply to Raddek (msg # 4):

"Glad you made it. It would seem the mages have a few tricks up their sleeve, so perhaps we should head upstream to try to help out if we can..."

Raging Rapids

Magnus trudged up on shore leaving great hoof shaped prints in the mud as he went, and while he was breathing a little heavily, he seemed in good spirits.

"Thanks, I saw you there...I just figured that you might not be able to lift me, and since I felt alright...I just kept going. I appreciate it though" he added as he dripped all over the shore and began to walk back up river towards where he believed the others would be.

"That...and there is something my Father said, that our blood is strong against witchcraft, I don't know if it's true, but I didn't want to risk you falling just in case." he shrugged slightly. He looked smaller and in some ways more human soaked as he was, and although he was still quite heavily built, with hai fur drenched it easily took several inches off his overall profile.

"So the others are going to fly across?"
He laughed softly. "Never thought I would ever seen such a thing"

13:54, Today: Magnus rolled 10 using 3d6.  HT -2

That should cost him 1FP I believe.
