After being accepted at the Templar College of Battle Magic, Judoc, Grobbik, and Giles make their way to the lake to witness the baptism of three new Templars.  The lingering lesson however, is how punishment is doled out at the school.

As part of one of his new classes, Judoc is driven into an arena match against a local villain.  Only after he wins the match and saves the man's life does Judoc realize he belongs to a much larger movement...

Expelled from the Templar College the previous spring, Giles is forced into service with the army, without the status as a battle mage.  However, there is some account for his 'time in service' and status - and he is inducted as a Sargent, a rank known for experience where he has none...  His first few interactions at the fort go well however, and he quickly finds himself leading expeditions into the wilderness.

After his encounter with the Harpies, Giles managed to bring back several texts from the cave.  One of these makes Captain Brashear particularly nervous, as it seems to be a journal of a military leader plotting an attack against southern Megalos.  Brashear directs Giles to lead a small party south of the border to collect intelligence on the plot.

Finn Razzel, an up and coming thief in the city of Azer runs to an appointment for a job with the infamous Murderer's Row.  The whole of it is quite simple, rescue a man who is to be brought to Azer that evening on the ship Ivory Winds.  The man is supposed to be an alchemist, though in the job interview, they don't tell Finn that he is held by the Ministry of Serendipity.

After rescuing the Alchemist, Behar.  Finn is tasked with safely escorting the man out of the city.  However, the Ministry of Serendipity has put the whole city on high alert and has involved the Templars.  If Finn is to be paid from this mission, he must get them both out now.

Walking back from evening meal, Judoc spies Elliot sneaking through the hallways, a sword scabbarded over his back.  Judoc follows the other student and eventually learns that the boy is searching down the imp that was released some year ago.

Seeking to expand his horizons beyond just water magic, Grobbik Feezle approaches Brother Loke with the possibility of learning other colleges.  When Brother Loke suggest that Grobbik's only chance of success includes stealing the Provost's treasured necklace however, Grobbik finds himself trying to increase his learning without being expelled.

When the priest from the Cathedral of St. Luke is murdered just after services, Judoc finds himself engaged by the Deacon to help track down the murderer.  Questions quickly spiral out of control - for Judoc cannot see any way that the crime has been committed apart from some magic.  Of course that realization directs him right back to his own college...

Finn, Judoc, Giles, Odelia, Gustav, Magnus, and Rondald push their way south of the border to destroy the necromancer found by Giles's previous expedition.  Though the tower proves easy to find, the necromancer himself will not give up easily.

After defeating the necromancer, the party finds that the monster had been actively pursuing an ancient tomb of horrors, Perdition.  His intent had been to unleash the worst of the ancient world and driving it north into Megalos.  Though the necromancer is dead, his apprentice carries on his work.  Finn leads an all volunteer party southward again to defeat the apprentice, and keep the tomb closed for good.

Tired of the responsibilities of leading his peers, Finn strikes off on his own to the town of al-Hassan to seeking to replace his own lost spell book.  While all of the books and scrolls of Haj-Umr have been lost or stolen, Munt does have information on a long lost library... the library of Malak Almawt.  Though Haj-Umr had many books describing it's likely location, they were given some time ago to a young fortune seeker by the name of Malakai... an odd coincidence perhaps... and Finn finds himself scrambling to follow the trail.

Rondald and Terri have been called to Craine at the summons of Duke Bran.  Though the social event goes better than Rondald could expect, especially given his particular distain for such social events, he comes back to his inn to find his clothes thrown about and most of his property missing.  Unless he wishes to be at a loss from his adventures, Rondald must find who has stolen it and where it is.

Called to the Duke Bran's castle to reward them for defeating the necromancer, Gustav, Rondald, Terri, and Judoc find more than a simple thanks has been planned.  While Rondald and Gustav quickly make their way from the castle, Judoc finds himself waylaid by the regional head of the Templars...

Giles's last several months have been set at an exhausting pace as the Fort on Three Corners seems to be slowly depleted of leadership and he has picked up more and more roles and responsibilities despite his relatively junior rank.  When a Wazifi diplomat from the border village of Beiji arrives demanding return of pillaged goods however, Giles finds that there are much more pressing matters than all of his lost sleep.

Finally able to break free from the fort, Magnus makes his way to Raphael, a place he has made his fortunes at least in passing.  The city's memory is fickle however, and he quickly finds himself subject to the same prejudices that he has experienced his whole life.  Luckily, he only needs to stay in the city long enough to find Angel Armory and commission a helmet.

Injured from his conflict at the fort, Giles has taken weeks to recuperate in the clinic.  However, his rest is not for long.  Lieutenant Hetrick drops the hint that someone must go investigate where the Wazifi's have come by their war materials, and if possible, put a stop to it.

With the success of his mission to the southern border, Rolf intends to make a serious business of settling down and studying his magecraft.  However, his studies are interrupted by Alma Gasteyer, the niece of a former guild member, Vunik Gasteyer, who has suddenly been cut off from the outside world by the administration of Witten Asylum, an institution for the insane where Vunik was recently committed.

Runt lives his life in a mostly happy squalor, though twin fortunes intertwine on the morning before All Hallow's Eve: Deng Learen threatens him with disfigurement if he can't cough up a weeks's worth of panhandling in a single day and the top story of Witten Asylum explodes in a vomit of stone and rubble.  Can he earn enough to avoid a beating sneaking into the building?  Will he live to even tell the tale?

Sajaa al-Kassem has been prepared all her life for her wedding day, for a new life.  Though when the day of her wedding comes, she finds herself in quite a different predicament than she had imagined, standing over the corpse of her husband, wielding his sword, and fleeing for her life.

Gustav sinks all of his adventuring money into brewing, thinking that the new town at Three Corners will likely be in desperate need of a local market.  With Rolf, Terri, and a handful of other merchants in tow, he makes his way across the western frontier to the border, hoping to make a steady living without risking his neck for once.

Judoc 'awakes' in a merchant's shop, standing, but with no recollection of how he got there.  It takes a few moments to find that he's lost a full six months of his memory.  The merchant however, a man called Basharat, offers Judoc a way to travel back in time to find out what he has missed.

The mines in Three Corners are in turmoil.  Governor Broskow has lied about their bounty, causing discontent from the workers.  To make matters worse, a group of bandits has started attacking shipments of copper and making prisoners of the workers.  In an attempt to solve at least one side of the chaos, Rolf recruits a group of adventurers to track down the bandits and rescue the hostages.

Magnus and Giles report to Broskow on the success of their mission to the caves and the destruction of the raiding party that had been wreaking havoc on the mine shipments.  They find however, that Broskow has begun to surround himself with outside strongmen, and their one prisoner is executed on the spot for his crimes without trial.

Suspecting there are still nefarious forces operating out of the caves and hoping to find the missing Runt, Rolf leads back a group of ready adventurers to try and flush out whatever remains.  But he will find far more there than simply the one escaped bandit...
