Re: Minmorc and Riza

"Dey're prolly pois'nous," the goblin priest adds his own warning to the druids.  Dregz doesn't like the frogs at all and picks a spot on the beach as far away from them as possible.

He's not at all happy that all the tunnels out of this cave are impassible, as it means a return to the world above, but is grateful for the chance to rest and pray that the elves aren't taking up positions in the swamp outside. "Prolly don' wanna dirty up der pretty boots !" he mutters.

She was very glad to see the others! She nodded to them as they came in, while continueing to keep an eye on the frogs. Since they didnt seem to want to come out of the water to mess with them, she'd leave them alone.

She turns to look toward the orc but notes that he doesn't look terribly wounded. Still, she knew if he needed healing, the guy with the stick can help him too.

Day 3: In the Oytwood - the wet bit

Everyone was tired after the long night's march south through the forest, battling boars, running from and fighting elves. The frog cave finally seems like a relatively safe place to rest and recuperate. It didn't seem like a good idea to light a fire in the low-ceilinged cave so boar meat and other rations were eaten raw, which was fine for most of this group anyway.

Virtually everyone soon settled down to sleep through the day so they would be ready to travel again come nightfall. Those not too badly fatigued took turns keeping watch but once activity had ceased the frogs slowly started up a soft chorus of croaking that was really quite soporific, so even the person supposedly on guard would find themselves nodding off or daydreaming sometimes.

Everyone is suddenly awakened near sundown (or alerted, in the case of the person on guard) by a heavy flopping sound that repeats every few seconds, over at the entrance tunnel. After a few moments the source is revealed when a giant frog hops out of the entrance tunnel. This frog is as big as a cow! It halts at the mouth of the tunnel, looking out across the pool of stagnant water in the cave, and then it slightly tilts its head to look at all of you over at the right-hand end of the cave.

Only Bulldust doesn't respond to the arrival of the giant frog. Moffdust reaches over to give him a shake but suddenly realises the bundle of rags, blanket and cloak that he bedded down in is empty. There is no sign of Bulldust at all, although all of his clothes and other gear are still there where he lay down to sleep.

OOC: Main game map updated.  Everyone is fully healed and rested. However, none of the clerical spellcasters have had an opportunity to pray for their new spells for the new day yet. With the nocturnal habits of this particular group, we will consider this the start of Day 3.

Day 3 - Bullfrog?

Minmorc will slowly rise to his feet, Vera in hand, and will slowly cock his head to the side. "Is dat Bulldust?" He will then start mumbling and grunting under his breathe and will place one hand over one eye, peering through the fingers.

Re: Day 3 - Bullfrog?

She woke up too as the sounds of something flopping around enters her dreams, and the guard alerts them as well. She hopped up with her weapon and tried to locate the sound, and identify it. When she saw the huge frog, her eyes about popped out of her head.
"Dat's one big hopper!"

"Bully! Bully! Bully! Where iz youz?"

After a few frantic moments she finds a little green frog nestled inside Bulldust's shirt. She carefully picks it up and lifts it up to look at it.

"Bully? Iz dat youz?"

Re: Day 3 - Bullfrog?

Arlein suddenly pounces toward the edge of the water just west of Bulldust's pile of gear. She lands right on top of the only frog that was anywhere near the group (apart from the one Moffdust found in Bulldust's clothes). Arlein grabs the frog and huddles over it, pinning it to the ground.

The other little green frog in Moffdust's hands sits there quietly looking at Moffdust. Its throat swells slightly then it starts to croak, "Brrrrdup. Brrrrdup. Brrrrdup."

Re: Day 3 - Bullfrog?

Riza quickly wakes up and readies her bow and arrow.... But holds off doing anything just yet as she is more confused with the arrival of the giant frog and the smaller frog, both of which are being suggested as being bulldust.

"Anyone have any idea what is going on?"

Riza will keep her eyes peeled to see if there is any sudden change in the behaviour of the frogs.

"Ise can try an' sniff der magic out, if dat frog is Bully," the goblin priest suggests.  "But I don' like der look of dat big one over der."  He eyes the giant frog warily.

"Maybe none of dese frogs were cursed.  Maybe dey are der big one's babies ?"

Re: Day 3 - Bullfrog?

Jurz’s dreams seem to be full of insects and frogs, and it, perhaps, takes a moment or two longer for him to wake at the sound of the cow sized frog entering de cave.

”Dat is a big frog.” Jurz agrees with Raven, ”But deys little ones looks too little to be der big onez babies.” he says in response to Dreg’z comment.    However, he stands up and moves a pace or two towards the larger frog.  As he studies he speaks softly ”Nice froggy …”

Suddenly he turns his head and looks out across the pool for a moment before returning his attention to the big frog.

Moffdust suddenly looks excited, as though she suddenly had a brilliant revelation ... or maybe someone else did and whispered it in a far off corner of the multiverse and an echo resonated in her little goblin mind.

"Bully! Iz youz a Froggy Princez, now? I'z knowz diz one. I'z'll savez youz!"

She lifts the little green frog up to her face and plants a big kiss right on its tiny little nose!

Re: Day 3 - Bullfrog?

As soon as Moffdust kisses the little green frog she seems to collapse down onto the sandy beach. Simultaneously, the little green frog transforms into the shape of a bugbear, crouched naked on the beach beside the pile of clothing that Moffdust was wearing. The naked bugbear is, of course, Bulldust. Of Moffdust herself, however, there is no sign.

Arlein the cat is crouched over her own little green frog, keeping it pinned to the ground.

All of this activity definitely attracts the attention of the giant frog and it slowly turns to face the intruders, leaning forward slightly as it takes a closer look.
