"Ssss!" Moffdust hisses, eyes wide with surprise. Cautiously she reaches into the chest and takes the black rod. "Its fer youse Dregzie. It is written." She quickly passes the rod to Dregz, then crosses her fingers in a warding gesture.

Jurz looks across at his brethern, eyes narrowing, when he hears the hissing.   Then he puts his hands behind his back as they start playing pass the parcel.

Bulldust moves up silently (DC 19) behind Jurz and drops a candle stub into his hands.  "I know dis game."

After he's had his fun the bugbear moves to the other end of the temple to practice using his flail against some pews.  He's starting to get the hang of it.

Minmorc has no idea what's going on and stares mouth open for a few seconds as the others play pass the stick. Muttering "pffft, goblins be crazy" Minmorcs eyes focus on what appears to be a very large box filled with money. Sitting down beside it he will start sorting it into piles of gold, silver, copper and platinum. He clearly can't count it but he seems to be very happy just being near it.

Jurz jumps and shouts "Waaaagh!  as the candlestub is dropped unexpectedly into his hands.  "Waaaagh!" he shouts again as Oopses startles him.  As he turns to look the candle stub goes flying, towards Oopses.

Then suddenly he remembers where he is, and what is going on and he puts his hands behind his back again and tries to look nonchalant.  However, this time his hands are   firmly closed into fists.

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

With that awkward feeling of 'the music just stopped and I can't see a spare chair' the little priest finds himself holding the magic black stick.  Closing one eye, he examines it carefully, with emphasis on trying not to die suddenly and horribly.

"It might be written," Dregz corrects Moffa. "I will have to check der Prophecies."

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

As Dregz ponders the mystery of the short black rod the sorting and counting of coins is eventually completed by someone. The treasure chest held a total of 30pp, 900gp and 3000sp, which is equivalent to 1500gp in total.

The other major item of treasure is the drow's enchanted black full-plate armour, which is probably worth more than the coins.

Obviously another visit to Two-fer-one will be required to arrange an exchange for something (or some things) more useful.

Moffdust hurried over the the coins to claim her share. "Lets us sees..." she screws up her face and does the math. "Dis piles worth 1500 golds. Deres seven of us, cos doggies and catses and batses dont counts. An Min has already took his, soooo... six shareses of 1350 is 225 golds for us!" She takes her share in mixed coins.

When Slipsnotz is free she asks him "Can youse takes us ta de bestest places ta sell elf armours Slippy? An if wes takes it dere will wes get mugged?"

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

Slipsnotz looks a bit confused by Moffdust's logic.

"But dere's eight of youz, idn't dere?"

Not counting Arlein the cat, he points to Bulldust, Dregz, Jurz, Minmorc, Moffdust, Oopses, Raven and Riza. (After Minmorc removed 150gp worth of coins the remaining 1350gp would mean seven other shares of approx. 193gp each.)

He shrugs and responds to the second question instead.

"Nobody wants elfy armours," he says. "If it's magic the only place is the trader Two-fer-one, but he only swaps stuff for other magic stuff."

Dregz will drag himself over to the right hand alcove of the temple that their guide promised would make him feel better, propping himself up with the black metal stick on his lap to leaf through his Holy Book until sleep takes him, in the hope of discovering its purpose.

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

Bulldust helps Oopses up and helps dust him off.  "Sorry Oopses!  Didnt see ya dere."  He hands the goblin a splintered piece of pew by way of recompense.

As the party are settling down for sleep, Bulldust pulls the ladder inside again for security.  He sets the ladder against one of those beams that span the roof space of these human temples - lets call it a tie-beam.  He threads a rope through all the pieces of elf armour and hangs them across the tie-beam so any thieves will have a hard time stealing them quietly.  "I'll take da first watch."  He moves the ladder to the roof access hatch - lets call it a bugbear hole - and sits on the roof with the gargoyles while the sun comes up; later he'll wake Minmorc.  He has finally mastered this taking turns on watch thing - lets call it growing up.

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

Slipsnotz reassures Moffdust that he can get you to the marketplace and in to see Two-fer-one without anyone getting a chance to mug you, but first he has to go somewhere with Minmorc. Just the two of them, nobody else. He says to wait here until they get back. They won't be long.

With that he and Minmorc climb out of the window of the temple and disappear across the gravestones, leaving everyone else to decide what they want to do with the drow's magic armour and the coins.

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

Moffdust puts the ladder back so Bully can get down if he needs to. She climbs up to the roof to watch where Slippy and Minmorc head off to then she sits with Bully for a while until the sun rises and starts hurting her eyes. She has need of red cloth, so she takes the filthy red pennant off Bully's head and goes back down to wash it in the holy water font, then she cuts it up into "...little squareses... hum hu humm..." with her knife and stuffs them all in her pouch. She waits up for the boyz to come home.

After a half an hour or so Minmorc will make his way back over the graveyard and into the church. On the way back in he will grin at Bully and fixing him with a stare will remark "der watch fing, dats good, but I gots ter sleep ter get my magic back, so, wake me up early and I'll put der spikey Wilson ball up yer trousers." Minmorc will find an unoccupied corner, make himself a blanket nest, lay out Vera and Helen and go to sleep.

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

When Minmorc and Slipsnotz return they find Bulldust on lookout duty up on top of the temple roof and half the rest of the group already asleep. Dregz, Riza and Raven have all chosen the right hand alcove as their resting place to benefit from the rumoured recuperative powers of that particular part of the temple. The rest of the night and most of the morning passes peacefully before everyone starts to wake up and think about breakfast.

OOC: Just before we move on to morning activities, does anyone have anything else they want to do before sleeping ... or while everyone else is asleep? Are there any volunteers (or appointees) for particular watch shifts up on the roof or elsewhere?

Re: Night 5: Down under Gorna

The bugbear adapts his plan with this new information in mind.  He does not wake Minmorc, and extends the lesson to not waking any of the other spell casters.  In fact he does not wake anyone.  He considers waking Oopses, but in consideration of recent victimization of that person, and the supposition that Oopses may actually be a bit of a spell caster, Oopses is left to sleep.  Riza and Raven are kind of scary, and may be spell casters for all he knows, so they're best left alone too.  Bulldust's long watch wears on in fits of indecision until eventually he falls asleep to the welcome relief of dreams of chasing elfs through woods ...
