Re: Who do you think you are?

Frostbrand sliced up silently and jaggedly  at the beast. Sven brought the noise, screaming frothy murder at it from his core of endless hatred.

This was likely to get messy.

Re: Who do you think you are?

Iviana was pleased that she hadn't taken her armour off. She was expecting the scouts to report back and them leave. Given it took many minutes to faff around getting it on and off, she was just sitting and meditating. Not very conducive to spell recovery perhaps but then she was hoping she wasn't going to actually need to do that.

She stood up "Hmm... maybe the way out isn't clear after all" and set off

I'm still in armour
"Given the exit is probably not far from here, why don't our scouts check it out, and if the way is clear, or lightly guarded, we should make haste to move as fast as possible. If the way is blocked, then by all means we should rest up, and the few minutes while we wait for a response from the scouts would make little difference, as we will probably be here for at least 24 hours"

Re: Who do you think you are?

OOC: My understanding is that Sven and Gwythe would be north or northeast of the minotaur, with Yew and Amathaon south or southwest of it. Presumably Yew can't shoot his crossbow at the minotaur without a 50% chance of hitting Sven instead if he is now in melee?

Yew shifted his grip on the crossbow to hold it in his left hand only and plucked a glowing dagger from the scabbard on his belt. He closed in swiftly behind the minotaur to attack with the enchanted blade.

OOC: Brother Yew rolled 8 using 1d10. Initiative.
Brother Yew rolled 8 using 1d20. Attack with 'Heartseeker'.

Gwythe reacts clumsily as the minotaur attacks, swinging wildly with his blade.

Amathaon turned from the door upon hearing the minotaur. Charging forward, and swung his falchion at the creatures back.

With the disturbance yonder, Ronalt struggled to his feet and grabbed his weapons. Heading for the doorway to see what caused the disturbance.

Re: Who do you think you are?

Amathaon intercepted the minotaur but his falchion missed in his haste.

Sven, standing his ground rammed both swords in, and through the minotaur, dropping it to the ground stone cold dead before it even had a chance to complete it's charge.

Re: Who do you think you are?

It took Sven a good several seconds and a few sharp yanks to free his weapons, and when the gladius did come free it went back to work taking off the beast's horns. Teeth were his usual trophies but this time was an exception. He whistled while he worked, a cheerful tone from a satisfied soul.

Luthien was about to run over to help....but by the time he got around to it, the beast was already dead.

"Useful I am not."

And then he relaxed again.

Gwythe watches the Minotaur fall to the ground, watching it for a few seconds to make sure that it is dead. Then he returns to walking a short distance up the northern corridor to look around the corner.

Gwythe returns to the main room, looking around to see if there's anything else of interest. He'll flick his sword through some of the skeleton bones and then go investigate the pool to see if it contains anything of interest. "Stairs up are that way." he'll idly comment, pointing back towards the corridor.

Amathaon sheathed his falchion. He nodded to Sven and said, "Good move Sven." He was disappointed that he had missed the minotaurs back. Amathaon really wanted to get some practice in with his falchion.

"Most impressive, Master Sven," Yew commented.

He sheathed his dagger again an followed Gwythe up the corridor toward the stairs, crossbow loaded and ready.

Re: Who do you think you are?

Iviana decided to join the scouting party

"Ewww" she said looking at the minotaur. She'd heard of them, but not seen one. Even dead it looked mean

"I'm not planning on resting until you come back anyway" she said "If you find a way out, we probably aren't resting. And if we are the time it takes to scout and return will be negligible, as we'll be resting up for a whole day I think"

She took her place at the back

With the minotaur dead, Ronalt strolled over; the recent healing not removing all the wounds he was carrying. "nice work Sven."
"So what have you found out so far from this room area. How many exits?"

Re: Who do you think you are?

"There are two doors we have not checked, Master Ronalt. One to the east in the corridor before we came through the booby-trapped secret door and one in the south wall of this room. Master Gwythe has explored the northern corridor out of this room and says the stairway is there." Yew explained to the new arrivals to the scouting party.

"Has Mistress Tindoorme returned yet? She was invisible during the battle but I believe I saw her cat head toward the first northern corridor out of the great hall, where the enemy's reinforcements came from, so the wizardess and her cat are likely to still be together."

"I don't know Brother Yew" Iviana said looking a little worried "She's a big girl though, and we have tens of people here to care for. I think our duty of care is clear: let's get these people to safety first, and then worry about her. She is invisible, and capable. Being invisible... it's kind of hard to go looking for her..."

"We'll see if she rejoins us shortly. If not I will pray to Lydia for guidance"

She nodded to Ronalt. She would head up the stairs after the others

Up again

This 10' wide spiral staircase circles clockwise up a shaft 20 feet in diameter. The stairs have no rail, but otherwise appear safe and sound.
