Kai Roberts --Current Assignment U.S.S Hornet II--1 Jan 2095

Currently assigned to the USS Hornet II, fourth-generation AirCraft Carrier in service since 2052. Twice the size of a Gerald R. Ford Class of supercarrier, it houses more than 5000 personnel, a full compliment of 72 fighters, three rescue helicopters, two full Silver Eagle squads (12 each) in addition to the Seal Team units that are usually on loan, it is nevertheless dwarfed by the U.S.S. Ticonderoga, Pride of the Navy, berthed along side her in Panama City, Florida.  Having just rotated off a 6 month deployment that saw some of the most extensive combat operations in a while, everyone was looking forward to some R&R for the New Year.

In a strange turn of events, the majority of the command staff save for the XO and a few others has been reassigned and Vice Admiral Yokoa, the Captain of the Hornet, has been recalled to DC.

Lean and fit, Lieutenant Kai Roberts, called Shark by his team, stands at the Starboard rail of the ship's flight deck overlooking the harbor, the cool ocean breeze washing over him bringing with it the familiar smell of fish and brine.  In the pre-dawn light he can see civilian fishing vessels setting up beyond the restricted zone. Making his way to the port side, the two boarding docks mate the ship to the warf where he can see the local cargo vans begin arriving to make their morning deliveries to the local businesses (still several hundred yards in from the warf). The sea breeze brings the

As Lieutenant of the ship's Seal Team 7 Contingent, he is responsible for the 8 man squad, their equipment arms and duty cycle and reports directly to the XO and Captain. Without any direct orders, the team keeps mostly to itself however with the majority of the ship off on 72 hour liberty for the New Years Holiday plus the lack of qualified officers he was pulled to the more mundane task of Officer of the Deck (OOD) while in port.  He will be paired with Lt. JG Tanya Williams, Officer of the Deck in Training (Her Rank is the only thing preventing her from being fully Qualified OOD).  Senior Petty Officer Jenkins is the Master at Arms on Watch for the day and in charge of ship's security.

WIth 30 min to go before his shift he he reviews the duty roster for the day while sipping his coffee.  Footsteps alert him to company and he turns to see the XO of the ship, Captain Mike Dalton approaching.  [Language unknown: "Al mousei Ieioolissi Ceevll, Ith ch strar m thiri n nce n our..."]  It appears as if it were yet again another duty roster update but as soon as he touches the digital screen on the pad the screen green-lights.  "DNA print authorized--This report is classified Top Secret" crosses the screen and it flips from a duty roster to an active intel update. [Private to group English: "This came across the feed this morning and they felt the need to wake me up for it.  Since our intel liaison is still two days from joining us along with your replacements, I'd like your input on what you make of this. Lieutenant Williams has been notified that you'll be in a meeting and will take your watch until after the meeting. Any Questions?." ] If non, he then turns and heads off back to the Bridge, nodding to the morning launch crews as they prep their stations. Otherwise he'll remain for a few moments.

Scanning the the report details recent known and suspected terrorist threats and activities including those suspected of the People's Apocalyptic Army, or P.A.A., a superbly funded and capable terrorist organization that pops up from time to time. No one has ever caught any of their leaders or even located much more than a safe house (Compare them to COBRA/Hydra for scope of activities). The chatter isn't much but seems to indicate they, or someone pretending to be them (Lots of copy cats), is trying to organize a possible domestic strike. It also lists possible targets and places/person's of interest including the Hornett, Ticonderoga, their staff officers as well as a multitude of other other military or government agencies.

Reciting a mantra in his mind Shark is able to seeminly learn how to fit in and be able to ise the exaxt skills he seema to need. [Private to Kai Roberts: One in a million actually exhibit any psychic ability. Less can command any ability.]

In the time before the meeting, Shark bends his mind reviewing the material on the pad. A lot of it is just chatter but the one thing he is fairly certain of, the chatter revolves around a NEMA target in the SE USA. Someone called Zoltar is holding a meeting in Tampa in 4 days.

A few swift keystrokes and  Kai volunteers for the mision, not his crew, just him.. his clearance allowing him to do such a thing, cuts thru alot of red tape that way.. he hands it back.. and says.. "No scuttlebutt ... but whatever you are doing.. do more of it.." and he hands back the pad ..

In reply to Kai Roberts (msg # 4):

Entering the secure briefing room Kai sees the XO, Senior Chief Petty Officer Hayes,  the Ships Sergeant at Arms. Lt. Commander Rabb, flight ops commander and a holographoc picture of Admiral Miriam Grey, Captain of the Ticonderoga and commander of her Battle Group and the Xo's yeoman.

The Admiral begins. She is stately in her Admiral Uniform, not much more than 40, young for an Admiral which speaks volumes about the ability she's shown and has a soft southern twang though you'd put her heritage as Middle Eastern. [Private to group NEMA Secure: "Now that we are all here, I want to hear all of your input. This matter came down with the highest urgency and that doesn't happen very often."]

Kai can hear her command staff's inputs and gives his analysis when prompted and offers his expertise. After a moments pause Admiral Grey speaks to the XO. [Private to group NEMA Secure: "Captain, I am ordering a recall of all personnel. We are too exposed in port. Log an emergency debarkation protocol drill and run it with whoever you have on board. Be underway immediately no matter who gets left behind. We'll figure it out later."] She turns to Kai.  [Private to group NEMA Secure: "Lieutenant, I'll authorize a capture mission..."]the video crackles and blanks out for a minute.  Suddenly the deck heaves and explosions can be heard as Claxons sound.  [Private to group NEMA Secure: "Sound General Quarters"] she yells at nearly the same time as the XO before the feed is lost.

[Private to Kai Roberts:
*mimic skill Military Etiquette (90%) your computer roll earlier alerted the Admiral to your request, GM fault for not posting it for you to roll so *auto sucess*
*perception success*
Kai can tell something is off about the Yoeman, his skin seems to be..droopy and he's pulling a knife

Spinning to arm lock hold the Yoeman, they fight for a moment for control of whatever is. It comes loose and the XO kicks it away.  The skin fully  melts away leaving a lanky skinny humanoid creature about 6ft tall with white hair, pointed ears and red-glowing eyes. The face is more round-egg shaped with skinny eye slits and small nose as compared to a human. It struggles but is unable to break the arm lock. The goopey old flesh is horrid smelling and kinda gross.

The device the XO picks up is unfamiliar with strange writing on it and several buttons.  "Security!" the XO hollers and two guards burst in and go wide-eyed seeing what Shark is wrestling with.

Overcoming their initial shock, the Sergeants taze the everliving shit out of it until it stops moving. Still attached Kai also gets some blow back but it's not enough to cause him any harm. Once the, whatever it is, stops moving, they cuff it and haul it off to the brig. It has no other devices on it. Only the gear that a Yoeman would have on them. The admiral orders for a lockdown on her ship (she saw the whole thing) as does the XO. Claxons sound and boots start running. After a few moments, the goo starts to disolve but the stench remains.

Grabbing his team he barks out orders.  They scramble for gear from the armory (Any gear from New Navy, Chaos Earth, non lethal from RUE, SDC from RUE)

Once geared the specialists assigned break off for their tasks to the room and searching comms. Each has a two man security detail with them.  Shark and his 6 men remaining move out with support from the Miliary Police assigned to the ship.

Kai and his team communicate via commando sign , or break squealch 3x for a get over here .. but thats it, moving in silence, and the neural maces come to bear if anyone gets mouthy..  First they check the computer logs (computer operation) to see if anyone  was not eating or had new weird habits...  then they sweep for bugs, listening devices, or strange signals coming off the ship( Electronic Countermeasures  , and triangulate where they are going.  Else wise its a room to room search  ( Perception check)  to see if in their  vicious room to room search  they find anything, aided by that sneaky feeling ( Sixth Sense) if anyone proposes any dangers..    (I have my comms guy back check  my  computer stufff, hence the  x2 computer rolls)

Moving quickly but with a purpose Kai and his team roll through the ship section section by section, a well oiled machine, greased by years of training and field experience.  XO's orders, everyone reports to battle stations and prepares for inspection once your team arrives. Not really knowing what they're looking for other than people out of place they watch each seaman perform their duties looking for those who don't belong.  The team finds a vent where the body of the Yeoman was stashed and put on ice so it wouldn't stink...unknown how long it's been there.  Will need an autopsy.  It appears as if his brain was pulled out of his head and turned into some kind of soup. They are able to determine that some transmission signals were sent off the ship, piggybacked on normal transmissions.  The smell the creatures give off when they transform is a particular odor that doesn't go away when the ooze dissipates. The team is able to follow it around the ship (Crit on perception) and find where the creatures was working on the ship's communications.  It was tapped in to every system on the ship. No other...aliens, or whatever it is, are found. The quick search takes 45 minutes.
