No worries!  It's been a busy couple of days for me as well.  I'm fine with waiting a bit longer for you to get something up!  :)

SS, it sounds like you are maybe trying to inflict Emotional Stress on Annihilus?  With emotional stress, you could cause him to go berserk, run away, etc.

Does that sound accurate?

I love the idea of Drax and Ronan being best buddies in this reality, btw.  I'll wait for the result of your roll before taking my turn!

Ronan, I'm fine with you deactivating it and handing it off to Drax.  As to whether he gains the power set or not, we'll have to see what happens with you!  ;)

You also forgot to nominate someone to go next, so I nominate the Squadron of Wave Fighters.  I'll post something up for them later this evening.

Yes, the wormhole is active and up for you to leave.  I'll assume that Groot pulls you all to safety, but feel free to post otherwise or a parting comment in the thread.  I'll have the new one up sometime tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay, but one of our cats passed away yesterday, so dealing with that has taken up most of my free time.  :(

Agreed and thanks.

As passings go however, this one was as easy to handle as possible.  Samhain (the cat that passed) was almost 17 years old and was pretty active and agile, aside from some arthritis in the hips, right up until the end.  We could tell that she was going somewhat senile as she'd have the occasional cat version of a "senior moment", but nothing traumatic.

Right before I went for a walk earlier this morning, I'd let her and our two much younger cats out in the back yard to play and she'd swatted at one of her younger boys who was a bit too playful, but was right there with them in exploring and climbing.  When I brought them back in, she'd flopped down in a convenient sun beam for a nap.

After about an hour or so I came back from my walk and she was lying in a different sunbeam at the top of the stairs.  If I hadn't seen her eyes open, I would have assumed that she had just moved to a different sunbeam for a nap.  No signs of any pain or suffering, so we can only assume that she passed quickly, perhaps in her sleep.

Our previous two cats passed after a long, painful to watch year-long decline for our oldest cat (23!) and the other we had to euthanize due to a painful illness.  "Sammy's" passing was blessedly less traumatic than that.  I can only hope that my passing is as peaceful as taking a nap in a sunbeam at home with friends and family.

17 and 23 is no mere thing.  You clearly took good care of them.

Alright, the new Scene is up!  As always, the Scene Distinctions are in BLUE.  This is a Transition Scene, so feel free to jump in and get your bearings!

Just waiting to see if the Watcher needs to answer Drax's OOC question; for the record, as the interaction is interrupted by the rustling trees, Ronan's response is going to be to deck Drax, regardless of roll required, lol

I've had internet trouble for the past 4-5 days, so sorry for the long pause.  Also, I wasn't able to get onto RPoL for the past day, but I'm not sure if it was my PC or something with the site itself.

[Sigh]  It seems like I'm always apologizing to you guys these days, but here we go again...  :P

Sorry for being silent the last couple of days.  I've been kind of down in the dumps, but hopefully will feel up to posting something tomorrow.  :(

Hang in there, my friend(s). I've had a rough time the last few months so I've been using the MHR games, especially my own, as a sort of therapy. At least it gives me something else to focus on for a while. If I can get out of bed to make posts, I can probably stay in it to get other stuff done, including living. Hey, man, our heroes get back up when they're knocked down. We'll get through this. We're in it together.

Sorry everyone that I've been less than active. Lots of stuff at home and another game that I was co-gming that kept me so busy I was starting to lose family time. That game is gone so I have more time to follow up here on RPOL.

Game has been quiet for a while...

I'm going to assume Watcher is ok with this and ask for forgiveness rather than permission...

I'm looking for additional players in a fantasy Cortex game that I'm running. The concept is to run through some of those classic TSR modules, but using a more modern rule system. Right now, we're in the first chapter or so of the A-series (Secrets of the Slave Lords). Idea is to work our way through the As, then probably the Gs (Against the Giants) and the Ds (Voyage into the Underdark) and/or Ss (Tomb of Horrors, Expedition to White Plume Mountain, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, and I forget them name of S4.) I also have a planes-hopping variant on the Queen of the Demonweb Pits (Qs) that we could transition to after the Ds.

The game has been going for a few months, and we're at the point where we've had the initial drop off of players and I need to recruit more.

link to another game

(I think one or two of you might already be active over there, but I don't see player names in this game, so I'm not sure which ones.)
