Re: Prologue

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 429):

Unwilling to relent in his assault, an incensed Uldaf swings again at the would be assailant. Yggy flies true through the air, careening toward the man's already injured knife arm.

[Melee- 4, 2x6]

Yield!

The tone of his voice suggests command, and not inquisition or acquiescence.

Re: Prologue

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 431):

Uldaf cracks his man on the right arm (5 shock) just as the man slips his blade through the hermit's defenses and slices him across the chest.  Though the blade manages to cut through Uldaf's furs (2 Killing), the damage to his arm causes him to drop his knife (arm filled with shock).

Enrei easily shoves aside the large bloodied man, who lands on the packed earth with a painful exhalation.  This noise is replaced with a scream as Brennan's arrow 'thunks' solidly down into his upper bicep and pierces clear through the elbow (4 killing, 5 shock L arm, becomes 5 killing 3 shock).

Not yet deterred, Enrei's other opoonent gives him a sloppy punch to the shoulder (2 Shock R. arm)

Club guy (fled?): 3 killing, 4 shock to R. leg.  3 killing L. arm
knife guy (unarmed, arm disabled): 3 shock to R. leg.  7 Shock 1 killing R arm.
Axe guy (unarmed, on back, arm disabled) 3 shock 3 kiling to R arm.  5 killing 3 shock L arm
Brawling guy:

Round 6

You are down to three opponents, one of which is on the ground between Enrei and Titus, one is on Enrei and the other is on Uldaf.

Titus flicks the knife with deadly accuracy towards the former axemans right arm...

The knife sails true and lands with horrific consequences.

Brennan fires another arrow, this time toward the uninjured brawling guy who is apparently too stupid to surrender.

[Archery + Coord: 1, 2x9, 2x1]

OOC: Can I transform the second sec to make the first one 2x10? or would transforming it only make the 2x9 hit slot 2 instead of slot 1?

EDITED: Thanks, I'll just leave it as backup then. Slots 1 and 2 are basically equal since he's undamaged.

Re: Prologue

In reply to GM (msg # 435):

Eyeing the now disarmed and crippled man, Uldaf cannot help but express his disappointment.

Looks like you've got more blood in your body than sense in your head. An unfortunate imbalance for you as the rate with which you're losing the blood seems to suggest your body is rushing toward an inopportune equilibrium.

[Melee, 6, 3x1]

Uldaf's assault, both verbal and physical, is unrelenting as he lashes out again to strike his would be assailant and his remaining functional arm.

Re: Prologue

Enrei takes the blow to his shoulder and snatches his still standing opponent's arm.  whirling him around, he twists the captured arm aroubd, insinuates his own arm under it and before much can be said the Chal'i is wraped half way around the man's torso in a position that is terribly inconvenient for its victim.

Re: Prologue

In reply to Enrei Omal'i (msg # 437):

Titus's knife thunks into the downed axe man and tears clear through the wrist, nearly severing his hand.  He's losing a good deal of blood and if he had any grand plans of escaping or fighting back, all he accomplishes is to roll around a little and bleed a lot.

Uldaf's opponent raises his one good arm and appears to be attempting to back up, but isn't fast enough to counter Uldaf's strikes (3 shock to L. arm).  He is clearly retreating, and will be able to move through the door into the building next round.

Enrei easily catches the unarmed man's punch and puts him into a terribly uncomfortable pin... right before an arrow chunks into the man's leg.

"Stop..." he wheezes from between Enrei's massive arms "please..."

Club guy (fled into building): 3 killing, 4 shock to R. leg.  3 killing L. arm
Knife guy (unarmed, arm disabled): 3 shock to R. leg.  7 Shock 1 killing R arm.  3 shock L. arm
Axe guy (unarmed, on back, arms disabled, bleeding out) 8 killing to R arm.  5 killing 3 shock L arm
Brawling guy (pinned, leg disabled): 3 shock, 5 killing to R. leg

Round 6

Uldaf fights a man trying to flee into the building.

Enrei pins a man who is, apparently, surrendering

A third man is dying on the ground

Re: Prologue

"Okay," Enrei relents at the wheezed submission, simply releasing his hold on the man with no regard to the structural stability of his arrow riddled leg.  Enrei then rushes toward the door like it's a race, attempting to converge on Uldaf's erstwhile opponent.  Sweeping his arms wide the islander grabs the retreating man around the torso and hefts him off his feet in a crushing embrace.

Brennan readies an arrow, but does not fire. Instead, he Aims at the man he shot last round.

Titus switches to the sword and stands over the man who yielded holding the point of his weapon to his throat.  Quoting one of his favorite moments from Magalan and Sir Gerald he says with a completely insane glint in his eyes

Hold out your hands... or don't and give me a reason to run you through.

It works well enough, but his breath was coming a bit too ragged to really nail the performance

Re: Prologue

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 445):

With frightening speed, especially given his size, Enrei crosses the small battlefield and takes hold of the retreating man before he can make it away.  Then, Enrei wrap strong arms around the man and holds him tight in a much more dangerous version of a 'chicken wing' hold.

Uldaf takes that opportunity to thwomp the man solidly in the ribs (7 Shock).  He grunts and winces in pain.

The man on the ground raises his hands and remains still while his friend rolls around a little more but cannot rise due to the damage to his arms and the loss of blood.

End Combat

One foe is pinned by Enrei and going absolutely nowhere.  Another is dying on the ground, the third is held captive by knife and bow.

"I yield," he coughs.  Involuntarily his hands find the shaft of the arrow in his leg, but when he touches it it clearly causes him great pain.

(OOC:  We are out of combat rounds, but it is very likely that if you step into the tent you will re-enter combat.  Just something to keep in mind timing-wise).

As he moves to touch the arrow in his leg Titus hefts the sword menacingly in a way saying that he is feeling really jumpy right now and it best not to test his reflexes.

Uldaf see if you can stop Mr. Axe murderer over there from dying... though I have to say I'm not particularly inclined to charity at the moment.  Really I'm far more concerned about my knife... its one of the first new things I've had in a very long time, and I'd like to hold on to it.

Re: Prologue

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 447):

The tent/building, now that you're able to get a good look at it, is a long structure formed of two walls of thin treetrunks that come together into a triangle, like an extruded teepee.

(It's essentially an A-frame house made of logs for the "roof sides" and a mix of logs and daub for the front and back.  Kinda a medieval version of this: http://www.dickblick.com/produ...s-a-frame-cabin-kit/)

The door is covered by a thick leather hide.

The man on his back begging for mercy Brennan recognizes as the first man he encountered.

"Layout?"  He looks around at the weapons pointed at him with a mix of fear and anger.  "What they're doing in there... is completing a ritual.  Let me go and I'll convince them not to kill you."

The fear doesn't vanish from his eyes and he looks to be truthful.  "Otherwise they will, no matter what you do."

How many of you are there?  Based on your most recent performance I'd say we don't have much to fear.  What is the purpose of the ritual you are performing?  How close is it to being complete?

I'm still undecided as to whether to let you live or just let Brennan do what we wants to you.

[First Aid Fail]

He's badly injured, beyond my help without far more advanced supplies and a much more sanitary area to work in. I've never been so inclined, but prayer may be a good option.

As for the rest of ye, what were ye thinking attacking a traveling old man in broad daylight? Have you no decency in yer body?

Uldaf folds his hands firmly.

There will be no further medical care or assistance offered to any until you answer our questions. And if you think I'm the sort of feel good medicine man who would never threaten your life to make a point..

Uldaf points his staff at the crumpled man he has beaten nearly unconscious, and taps him in the rump with his staff..

Think again.

Re: Prologue

Enrei leans next to the ear of the man he's holding, "You can talk too.  Answer my friends," he gives his captive a small nudge to one arm, "Or I could carry you into building, maybe your friends will not kill us if you are in the way.  Your weapons were not very big, I think you would die first," the surprizingly morbid thought is very matter-of-fact as Enrei says it.
