Kraig motions to the engine room.

"We need to get this baby ready for space.  We need to run diagnostics and check fuel and power reliability.  Do you have any engineering qualifications Stez?"

Shamus finishes the diagnostics on the J-drive and then comes over to talk the two men, "I'm Shamus, J-drives are my specialty, but, if there's anything in particular you need, let me know."

"Well, if we work together and take our time, we should have everything up and running pretty quickly."

With that said, Shamus will start checking things out, both electronically and visually to make sure that everything's running smoothly

"Sounds good Shamus, since you know the systems here I will help you get things going."  Kraig works carefully along with Shamus to bring the ship's systems online and ready for stressful use.  "Do we have fuel scoops and a purification plant aboard Shamus?"

Stez, moves out of everyone's way, and just places his hands on one of the computer consoles. His expression goes blank, as concentration appears.

Re: Dust Runner Engineering

Although all the systems seem to be nominal (there are no red flags), that's the hardware. The programming, however, is another story.

Stez is able to detect a bug... specifically a misjump worm. Without the proper diagnostic sequence being run AND a passcode entered, the ship would misjump when the J-drive was activated.

"umm, i know it's not my place, but the ship is infected with a misjump worm." he pulls his hand away from the console. "more specifically, without the proper diagnostic sequence being run AND a passcode entered, the ship would misjump when the J-drive was activated" he stands and waits, for the forth coming barrage of questions or scolding.

Shamus watches Stez, "Well, that's quite an ability you have, especially since this was discovered after we ran our diagnostics...I'm impressed, thank you... Can you guide me to remove it?"

Shamus runs the sequence/diagnostics....

Re: Dust Runner Engineering

Shamus with an assist from Stez have no problem removing the virus from the ship's computer, even tracing the backup down and killing it.

Forcing a misjump was certainly one way for Ritter to avoid the authorities.
