Re: Sky Rig One
Seeing all the team split into different groups, Shamus is torn to where his services might be of best help...While pondering, he recalls something...

Did the dead guy we find have a personal comm unit, using it to record his log?

Shamus decided to go check the corpse and find out.

Re: Sky Rig One
Shamus goes back to check the first corpse they found, the one in the spacesuit, and doesn't find a comm unit on the suit, but he does detect that there is one inside his suit at his belt.

Kraig and Roland head for the medical bay, which turns out to be on the same deck as the bridge. There is apparently a quarantine airlock as well as a standard access door to the main med bay. The airlock is secured in some manner, as it won't open. The main door opens easily.

Entering sickbay, you see a typical layout... two examination chair/beds along the left wall, supply cabinets along the back wall, a desk/console in the front to the right when you walk in, and four life support units along the right wall.

There is clearly a person in each of the life support units.

Roland began to search the room, not being terribly neat or careful other than avoiding anything that could puncture the seals of his armor.  Looking for any handhelds or data devices he could find, Neat and tidy wasn't on his list of concerns but from the way he was working thorough was definitely a priority..

Comms:
"The corpse we found near the airlock has a comm unit, but, it's inside his suit. Should I bring him to the rig's infirmary and set-up some sort of quarantine area?"

OOC: Has Gahler found a space bouy in engineering. Something they can launch to warn about the quarantine.
IC: if he can't find one easily he heads back to the ship and preps for lift off.

Giving the problem some thought....

"Set the rig on autopilot to take it into higher orbit, IE out of the storm's worst effects, we evacuate, and let's see what happens after a couple of hours?"

Re: Sky Rig One
Gahler has no luck in finding any space buoy.

Kraig checks out the life support units. The readings indicate that they are all functioning, and that the four people inside are still alive.

Roland ransacks the room, but doesn't find anything significant. He does find several medical scanners. One was out on the counter, but another five were in the cabinet.

He also finds the door into the surgery. It's not an airlock, but it is an airtight door. And it does have a window in it.

Roland looks through and sees a body lying on the floor. It's face down just on the other side of the door and stretched out to the right. A comm unit is laying on the floor just beyond the figure's reach.

Seeing that the crew, in general, has decided to abandon the refueling station, Shamus goes to ensure a quick transition of whatever gear/fuel/etc from the rig, gets back to our ship.

Re: Sky Rig One
The life support units are the medical equivalent of low passage cold sleep chambers, though not meant for long term usage. They are vertical units that keep the patient at a roughly 45-degree angle rather than prone.

They are portable; these have wheels but no grav lifters. They are currently plugged into the ship's power supply, but are capable of functioning on their batteries for 48 hours.

Re: Sky Rig One
Kraig makes a decision.  "Roland, grab a couple of the scanners, we can use them.  Help me unplug the units.  We can take them back to the ship with us."

He calls out on the comm.  "We have four portable medical units with living people in them.  I need two more people up her in the medical bay to help get them to the ship."

Re: Sky Rig One
"We're on our way," the baroness replies to Kraig.

She was out of her chair and on the move even as she replied. She grabbed Arc as she went, and hurried out of the airlock and onto the refueling station. She'd been keeping tabs on the communications among the crew, including the the rig's layout, so she made a bee-line to the worker's lift. It'd be quicker even if a bit crowded.

When Shamus, Luise and Arc arrived Kraig set them to work carrying out each of the four medical pods and then gathered scanners and supplies that might be of use.  "Come on then, let's get this lot down to the ship."  He headed down with the others as quickly as possible to the ship.

Re: Sky Rig One
The edges of the storm have already reached the station, but it can't be felt here in the interior. You get the life support modules into the Dust Runner with three minutes left before the full brunt of the storm hits.

"Buckle up folks. We need to ride NOW."
"Seal the hatches and make ready for a bumpy ride."
Gahler bellowed through the ship's coms.
With the ship warming up, Gahler did the last few checks, winding up the M-drive.

Grabbing what he could from the pods, and the medical lockers before heading to follow the rest. Keeping his helmet sealed and checking the exterior of his suit for damage or obvious contamination.

Kraig straps down the life support modules in the cargo bay and then heads forward to the bridge to take station.
