Re: Destination: Efate

'That's a fine how do you do.' Adraiannah thought, as if the airlock wasn't crowded enough, with Harry and her discussing her suitably as a perspective addition to the crew. Two Weightlifter types just stepped into the passage. Casting a 'What the!' glance at them, then the small hooded woman who appeared to be their boss. Harry's reaction to the trio's arrival was momentarily puzzling, then an mental image of a B&W archive clip sprang to mind. It involved a small passage crowded by people packed into it like Anchovies in a tin can. Noting the similarities between it and this situation Adriannah also began to chuckle.

Refocussing on the negotiation she though Harries offer was quite reasonable as a baseline Salary. Are the costs for Medical/life insurance, Uniform, Room and Board in addition to the 6k? Stepping closer to the wall and moving her luggage so the two men could squeeze past.

Not wanting to be construed as overly cred hungry Adriannah considered asking if there'd be a signup fee What's the Contract Duration. [Private to Harry McStubbin; Siyeon Lee; StarMaster: is it ok to post

As the smaller of the two men pushed past Adriannah felt that she was groped. Reacting instinctively she braced one foot against the corner of the adjacent wall and deck. Shoving the bodyguard against the opposite wall, her knee coming up and impacting firmly in the fellow's groin.

Re: Destination: Efate

The PM was fine, though you probably didn't take into account that the man was a professional bodyguard. Also, since he was carrying a lot of baggage, it was more likely an errant suitcase that struck Adriannah's private area.

The man that Adriannah thought had groped her didn't seem to be bothered by the knee to his groin nearly as much as he should have, and even as he dropped the four suitcases he was carrying, his hand instinctively went for his gun in the shoulder holster under his jacket.

Before things could get out of hand, however, Luise made an appearance at the inner opening of the airlock along with Steve.

"Unless these men are paying passengers and have been vetted," she informed Siyeon, "they can't come onto the ship... without clearance from me or the watch." With that last, she nodded at Steve.

"So, just set the baggage down and we'll see it gets to where it needs to go."

She then turned to Adriannah.

"Hello. Welcome to the Frumious Bandersnatch. I'm Captain Baroness Luise Welcher. I understand you are interested in a crew position on my ship."

"If you don't feel you have any skills at the various standard crew positions, that doesn't mean you won't be welcome. On this ship, at least, crew positions are rather fluid. We always have a need for a physical presence on watch for 3 shifts, and it never hurts to have a back-up in many areas. Do you have a resume?"

Re: Destination: Efate

As the four suitcases, the bodyguard was carrying, landed heavily on the deck Adriannah stepped back embarrassed by her over reaction. Her face flushed with the embarrassment of the moment; as she apologised to the Bodyguard. Thankfully he was wearing groin protection as her assault hadn't caused undue response from him. The Captains timely appearance and intervention in the situation was providential. The Captains questions and statements were a welcome relief as they enabled Adriannah to refocus. Thank you Captain Baroness Welcher. Yes that's correct. she replied. Could I get an address to forward an Electronic copy of my Resume

Re: Destination: Efate

Siyeon checked on her bodyguard before she said anything. Thankfully, he was okay, his armor took the blow. "What did you do?", she asked in a stern tone.

"Nothing, Singnie, I swear!", he insisted.

Space in the airlock was tight. Siyeon knew her people, and it was highly unlikely he would do something like what he had been accused of. Instead, it was much more likely that he bumped into the woman by accident, just like Siyeon had bumped into him before.

"I apologize.", she said to everyone. "I should have realized that my men need to be allowed on board first. I would vouch for both of them gladly, they have been with me for years."

"More than a decade, actually.", the bigger man muttered under his breath, watching his feet intently.

Siyeon gave him a look, then she continued: "Alright, more than a decade. Still, you two need to get out, I'll comm you later. And you, miss.", she looked at Adriannah, "Please accept my apology as well. I hope you did not get hurt?"

She watched as Harry picked up part of the luggage. "I believe you know where to go?", she asked.

Bristling at Harries snarky remark, the hue on Adriannah's cheeks change from embarrassment to annoyance. In the close environment of this interview; I think I Know enough about being hot or cold as you do. Her unwarranted outburst further intensifies her embarrassment prompting a quick apology Sorry Captain, XO; my responce was uncalled for, I guess the recent misunderstanding has put me a little off my game.

"But you can just contract transfer it to me comm right now if you wish."

She held out her comm unit for Adriannah.

Re: Destination: Efate

After visiting the medical supply center in the starport and selecting another biobed as well as the supplies he thought might be needed... and arranging to have them all delivered to the ship, Arc headed back to the ship himself.

He was on his way to the medical bay to make sure there was room for everything... or as much as he felt he could cram into the space; the rest would have to go in the cargo bay.

He passed one of the new crew... Forge Harris.

"Oh, hey. Did you ever get an answer about investing in the ship?" he said to Forge.

"If you haven't, it's probably because it hasn't been worked out yet. All the crew are equal partners in the ship... at least, they were when we got it. Now that three of those partners have left the ship, we're still figuring out what we're going to do."

"I suppose the easiest thing would be if you just bought up one of those 'empty' shares now. Is that what you were interested in?"
