Re: Moving Forward

If Starmaster is using Traveler standard, www.Travelermap.com shows Law Level = 2 (no portable laser or energy weapons).  If not using standard, let us know.

Also what is general weapons etiquette for a social setting like the restaurant?
Carriage of any legal weapon expected, optional, frowned on, not expected?
Carriage of a legal Melee weapon expected, optional, frowned on, not expected?
Carriage of a legal Gun weapon expected, optional, frowned on, not expected?

Re: Moving Forward

Yep, Law Level is 2. No thermonuclear hand grenades allowed.

Etiquette, as well as local restrictions, say no visible weapons other than ceremonial swords. There are scanners at the entrance, so auto-weapons will not be allowed. Only certainly nobles' guardsmen can carry heavy weapons in the open.

So a nice little Body Pistol and dagger tucked away are de rigueur.

Not a problem, Luthar. Thanks for letting us know.

I seldom have enough mental energy to post in the evening... oddly, the brain is still creative... I just can't focus on anything.

Re: Moving Forward

I guess the question now is: does anybody want to role-play out the wedding, or should be just fast-forward till after it?

Re: Moving Forward

I am in favor of fast forwarding past wedding, especially since it would only involve 2 characters.

If the group is going to go with Hans to salvage the ship, what about the passenger Mr. Smith?  A simple solution would be to go on to Regina to drop him off and then jump back to Dinomn's Oort cloud to salvage the ship.

If we are going to Regina first, Hans can arraign spec cargo for the trip there when he sells the present spec cargo.

Re: Moving Forward

Looks like several are in favor of salvage, in one variation or another.  I presume the decision won't be made until Luise is back in early Sept.

Re: Moving Forward

Still alive!

As bad as Hurricane Irma was, it wasn't all that bad. Almost no building damage has been reported, not even broken windows, but signs and lots and lots of trees have been uprooted.

15 million people without power. It's starting to come back online now, but probably won't have it at the house for another 2-3 days. Posting from a friend's workplace, which never actually lost power because it was part of the evacuation route.

All we had were a few roof leaks, and the backyard fence got blown down.

In reply to StarMaster (msg # 633):

Wow...! Which part of Florida do you live in? I heard that a lot of people are out of power. You must be in a place with power or a generator.

Re: Moving Forward

10.5 days without power!

Lost power on the 9th just around noon as the hurricane passed by.

No power, no AC, no lights, no stove/microwave/toaster oven, no hot water, no TV, no computer, no modem, no internet.

Florida. Summer. Hot. Humid. Sat around in the dark and sweated. Didn't sleep well, didn't eat much.

Couldn't go anywhere since most places were also without power.

For a few days, gas was scarce, because most gas stations didn't have power, and so couldn't pump gas. The few that either had power or emergency generators had long lines and then ran out of gas. Tried getting by on ice, but so was everyone else, and ice quickly sold out.

Finally got power back about 8:30 last night.

So now we're cleaning up the mess.

It'll probably be another day or two before I get caught up on all my games.

My last post was from a friend's workplace. They managed to have power the whole time, because they were on the evacuation route, plus one of the nearby buildings was an evacuation shelter.

Re: Moving Forward

I tend to keep characters around for several months, so if things change and you can make it back here, IM will still be here.

If the game hasn't been keeping your interest, though, drop me a PM to let me know what I can do to improve it.
