Re: OOC Discussions

To all,

I'm afraid I'm going to withdraw from the game.  While I am impressed by the attention to detail being shown in the activities aboard the ship so far, it is too much for my sensibilities and is dragging out the story pace to a degree beyond what I find enjoyable.  Thanks for the opportunity to play and I'm sorry the focus of the game just didn't work out for me.

Feel free to use Nate as an NPC or write him out of the narrative as you see fit.  Good luck with your continued adventures!

Re: OOC Discussions

I've got some sympathy for Nate.

It was six weeks ago we took control of the ship, and since then we've had nothing but one-liners on ship maintenance. The game started well but I feel like we've just drifted along recently. I don't mind not roleplaying, but this game has gone to the other extreme.

One week from now I'm going on holiday for 3 weeks, so if things don't pick up I may follow Nate out the door. That isn't a threat, just how I feel. I bear no grudges.

Re: OOC Discussions

Just for the record..I plan n sticking around. I like the fact everyone is into their roles on the ship, and they are paying attention to detail.

I would like to see more activity, but I am a patient guy...and I LOVE traveller.

Re: OOC Discussions

Part of that's my fault. I've been struggling with posting for the past few weeks. Don't know if I mentioned it, but I had to move back in April and moved into a room in my friend's house. In the process, his mom had foot surgery and was bedridden for a long while... and had to take an hour drive to and from the hospital to get an antibiotic infusion... every day for six weeks. So things in the household were kind of in fluctuation.

The gist is that I'm still settling in, haven't quite got a schedule figured out, especially since I was helping his mom and taking her to appointments. Not sleeping well and I'm tired nearly all the time.

I don't get to my posting as often as I was before the move, so things have slowed down just a tad in all my games.

I'll keep Nate around as an NPC for awhile, so I hope you'll check in from time to time to see if things pick up. Maybe if they do you'll find your way back to the game.

Re: OOC Discussions

Just a quick question, are we leaving comms open, that way people in different parts of the ship can hear each other, otherwise, Shamus will be sitting in Engineering just making sure nothing blows up...

Re: OOC Discussions

In 'real life', no, comms wouldn't be left open. In an online PbP RPG, it makes sense that they would, though, to facilitate moving things along and not cluttering up the board and memory with duplication.

That's especially true on the ship at the moment when there's no conflict.

Arc can relieve Vermeer at comms.

Uhm, why? I'm still here, and Comms is all Drex can do aboard ship.

Re: OOC Discussions

Sitting at the comms station for several hours can be tedious, so Arc would just be your relief when you get tired.

Besides, that's all he can do on the ship, too.

Re: OOC Discussions

sorry guys, I'd help with the docking procedure unfortunately I can fix a ship, break a ship, kill every one on a ship...but I can't pilot the dern things....may be why I tend to break them, take them,or fix em..

....I also serve a lovely iced mocha, or cocktail of your choice, while you wait for impending doom.

Re: OOC Discussions

Airlocks
A ship has at least one airlock per 100 tons. The average airlock is large enough for three people in vacc suits to pass through at the same time. An airlock takes ten seconds to cycle. Under normal circumstances, airlocks are locked down from the bridge and require a Very Difficult (–4) Engineer (electronics) check to override. An unlocked airlock can be triggered from outside. Airlocks generally have vacc suits, rescue bubbles and cutlasses in a ship’s locker nearby.

After designing a dozen traveller ships in a week..I got the starship stuff stuck in my head.
