Re: Moving Forward
StarMaster has lost internet connectivity on his main computer and is on now using a borrowed one. He isn't on a lot for a few days, hopefully he'll get fixed up soon. He is on intermittently now.

Yup, Wifi is what he lost. I'm hardwired, cable modem with almost 2GB transfer rate. (1.5 to 1.8 I think)

Holy shit! You okay? What happened?

If I fail to post, either my computer died or I did.

Re: Moving Forward
In reply to Harry McStubbin (msg # 958):

currently homeless, was staying in hotels but the money ran out.  I only get social security which kicks in he second Wed of he month.  My sister also gets social security which kicks in for her on the 4th Wed of the month.  there is a 2 week gap between her payment and mine. we were staying in a shelter but my sister has limited mobility and ended up in the hospital this past weekend and I stayed there with her, hence no computer access.  In a hotel  for this week, next week who knows. Otherwise we are fine, and thanks for the concern.

Re: Moving Forward
My roommate and my wife get paid on the 3rd, I get paid the second Wednesday. We make enough to keep up the house payments which keeps us off the street for now. Disability barely fills the gaps, but it helps a lot. Good luck.

Where are you?

I was going to say, stay safe out there, but then the computer told me to say this - This thread is nearing the 1,000 post limit.  Please request your GM creates a new thread.

Gotta do what the computer says...

Ouch, at least it's a mild winter. If I had the room I'd take you, one 'homeless' guy living with me already (he now has a home)

Re: Moving Forward
Wow. Missed a lot.

Thanks, Harry, for updating everyone for me. FYI... took the computer to the shop and the guy determined that it was a software problem which might have been caused by the latest Windows Update... but I couldn't afford to get it fixed.

Today, I started up the borrowed computer and it immediately did a Windows update and... guess what? Yep. The wifi was gone after it was done.

It then occurred to me that others might have the same problem so that maybe the problem/solution was posted on the internet. So, used yet a THIRD computer to search... and found a video that offered three solutions. The first one didn't work, but the second one did; uninstall the wifi software and then reboot the computer. Neither worked for the borrowed computer though.

Now just need to get caught up.

Sorry to hear about your problem, Oen-kek. Hang in there... and hope things get better for you.
