please list on the sheets your exps earned with which IC, also you should list moneys earned and how or why. Its important to add this because when sheets are spot checked we need to calculate properly.

Current Group 1 is coming to an end (today)

New group 2 will start new IC - make sure you read your planning thread for the first post expected from each PC.

New group 3 will be our newest addition, to the game :) (it will be interesting :)

I would like to also continue with edits to the Private threads and add any new story material that players have been discussing and working on in their Planning threads.

Lastly All PC sheets will be closed by Monday so please do your edit by then. (if you need help GMs will do it for you later you will not loss out)

Some new things added to the game; NPC are going up. Co-GMs will now have Major NCs to control. This is different then those tagged with a house name - If not labeled NPC they are still open for new players to take over.

Also several NCs that have not been active in the storyline will be staying home as the rest go to King's Landing. PC should not think because they were not directly ask to go that they are staying home :) In fact players can be creative on their first post and include that they were asked and why they are going etc. etc... Basically players can tie themselves into the reason freely, .... enjoy and lets get into the grove :)

I know many are interested in seeing what becomes of those in The Stormlands but you still need to get there.

So don't forget to stay on top of your ICs.

The Stormlands are going to take sometime, it so happens that there timeline is screw up in this age. Because they have a direct bloodline with Targaryens, so I have a lot of research to do to get this right. This is not going to be a fast build.

It's that direct bloodline connection that will give Robert a semi-legit claim to the throne as compared to most of the other major Houses. I beleive his grandmother? was a Targaryen.

So I take it Edric (and Mara ?) left Poppy Hall earlier than the Ashfield entourage ? Since the Ashfields left "the next day" I take it Edric left immediately after Garin ? OR, he was just able to travel faster than the bigger party :-)

Who is actually in that Ashfield entourage ?

I'm going to allow players to re-group and chat in IC at Blue Hall.

By Monday I will be posting in IC and move the adventure along to Blackhaven

We have found some details that are important in the game and felt we needed to make these correction now before we get into the heat of things and it causes delays in the game later when things get juicier.

So we have made corrections to character sheets thanks to Co-GM beard.

The PC edits were important because with the tourney coming up and more fighting planned for the future - we need to make sure we didn't get detail when in combat.


Now Co-Gm Denalor is working on the player houses. So if your not familiar with how to do this just let him know so he can ask the right questions and help you along.

Now with players leaving their houses and there houses needing to be maintained when they are away, house info has hit the top of our list of things to do.


Mind you we should still keep up with our IC posting and reply to Denalor's questions and if you see something that your confused on with rules and ect. no ones prefect stat you case and explan the best you can why you remember so we can work through these edits.

TURST ME THIS WILL CLEAR THINGs UP & GAME PLAY WILL BE BETTER AND FASTER.

Lastly you will see some changes to charts and other details that Denalor is bringing to the table - its really excellent stuff so bear with us as we go though some growing pains.

You are aware that you picked a distance for your fight that you cannot possibly reach each other in the first round, right :-) ?

I don't want to get to into the technical, what matters is the die results not the IC: - distance would matter if there was a range attack but in this case lets leave comments and tip in the combat thread.

So as this combat moves forward make commend like if there was a range attack it would have taken you 2 round to get to melee leaving you open to two attacks, or you could have taken that wound and less - die for the next attack.

We can be more proactive then reactive if we also give examples on how me may have gone about an attack like, you have a excellent agility use that to spring off your horse .... or .... you added 3 extra rolls to spring off your horse you could have just dismounted with no -die. Stuff to show the difference in how the mechanics work in a real fight. This game in combat is deadly so understanding that free forum going bye, bye when a fight comes up is important.

Right now I recommend simple with the actions, creative in the description is better. Mathy's tried some really cool stuff but in his first fight, but didn't understand that doing all the extras meant really tuff rolls in a fight, which caused him to fall. As an excellent RP he posted the events which turn out pretty cool - regardless if that was a battle sense he would have been seriously hurt, a few would just jump on him as he was on the ground.

Also you can ask the Combat GM for tips before you act, Like; "if I want to leap off the top of the steps and pull him down from his horse what do I need to roll and what are the die mods.?" .... Now you can think if that action is worth the effort.

Not sure what's happening but Re: IC: To King's Landing will end up having an odd jump from the Blue Halls to Blackhaven if we don't get some posting in.

Unfortunately its been slow but I was the last to post and players are expected to finish up in House Neumann Blue Hall and head to Blackhaven.

I will be using our 24 hr rule and take over PCs to keep the storyline moving, ..... As a courtesy I have been extending this to much longer then 24 hrs so keep in mind that I or one of the Co-GMs may start posting for you if to much time passes between posts.

I humbly ask for you leniency about that 24h rule in case of solo threads as I wouldn't want to spam the thread with "Time Pass" posts ;-)

Also keep in mind that the players will be spending more then a month in King's Landing (maybe more) when you get there so there will be several threads and events for all the players to interact more.

I took a lot from the online wiki and then mixed in with the book info and I also check it to make sure it stayed consistent. I did fine an interesting mix up that I think should be discusses.

In some posts it says bastards can not become knights, but in others it says they can and it's one of the only few ways they can prove themselves worthily in the eye of others because of their station.
What do you think - both your option and the setting ?

I'm leaning to no they can not, ....

I'm still working on The Faith.

And the Lady of the Waves, will not be complete for a long time or unless some want to play this for some really good reason as its there but not really open to just play.

RE: Kings Landing Combat

1. Ser Edric could indeed take an Injury to reduce the net damage by his Endurance rating, at the cost of -1 to all future rolls
   
2. Ser Edric could also choose to take a Wound, reducing all damage to zero, at the cost of -1D to all future rolls
   
3. Either way, is it not Ser Edric's choice to make (taking an Injury, taking a Wound or indeed being defeated by having Health reduced to zero or less), especially if one considers Mathys' reduced Combat Defense for next round... ?

 Well, like I said, Mathys did not mean to harm Edric. It's my fault as the player, since I assumed that there was no way in the bloody world that a blunted long sword could cause this degree of damage. In our own history, by the time of the Maximilian period of plate armor, a longsword was little more then a symbol of Knighthood, as it use almost useless in combat against a man wearing full plate, short of a lucky strike. That's why most used flails, war hammers,etc to dent or penetrate the plate. Perhaps the tech on armor development is more plate mail then plate in Westeros. But in many event, what's done, is done.

So I would like to know who still needs a PC. Beard are you still up to getting PC flushed out? The newest house was to be introduced was going to be the Stormlands.

A few players have expressed a change over if you are still interested please reply to this post - as well as the new players should reply that they are interested in the Stormlands for a PC.

The current idea is House Fell of Timberwood a branch of the original house that is just south of Blackhaven and in the area of the Boneway.

I will need to know how will be added to this so I can edit the IC for active players and regroup the houses.

I don't know if players from other houses can join new groups, but if they are I'd be interested in writing in the Stormlands.

We'll what we allow is for players to jump around a little. Sometimes a group may slow down in posting or the style of the group is not exactly what they were looking for. So you can drop your PC and make a new one with other players but you can not play 2 active PCs in one storyline unless your an active Co-GM which the other PCs are really NCs. The Newest House will be part of this storyline.

FYI I have been working very hard on the northern campaign in which everyone here will be invited to make a PC and join a different storyline in the north. The detail will be really huge and it will flow much better then the southern campaign as I have been learning from some of my errors :)

That links to the beginnings of House Fell which was going to be in the Stormlands.  It hasn't gotten very far at all (or anywhere really) so if you're interested in building the House from the ground up along with your characters head on over and we'll start getting started.

 It's worth asking. What are the chances of being a Hedge Knight in the Stormlands? And any chance of some solo RP? I know the answer is probably no to the latter, but worth the asking.

Are you referring to A few seem to be dressed in the Dornish fashion. in the IC.

That's because they are mostly sellswords, that's what this Wilfred needed to hire as a few extra swords quickly. And they have been traveling with no sigils - so to hind from possible attacks.

I'm going to start a new thread for you based on what you decide to do at this point.

Push forward to Blackhaven, Search for Brindal, go back to Kowlyn or even home(that's pretty far away), Forget Blackhaven and goto to King's Landing, investigate who and why they attached you.

Once you pick what your going to do I can create a new IC and go from there.

Ah, well... I just went ahead and posted.. Will be pushing on... Brindal knows my goal... he knows where to find me if he lives....

All those still around in group 2 houses Ashfield and Neumann please reply to this post.

Those interested in joining the new house (stormlands) may do so now. I understand their maybe a few that are looking for new challenges or different PC types.

I will add those that replay back to group 2 once I have the first post ready for the new IC. that will be in less then 2 days (and today counts as day one :).

PC sheets should be open to add the exps. any issues let me know right away.

Over this last IC run we have lost of few from our 26 at the start of the ICs. We are at about 15 plus the new players so we are close to about 20 active players. I will give a good count at the end of the week.

With regards to houses some seem to be more active then others, if you feel that maybe you would like to be in a different house now would be the time to make that jump.

Back to the cast list I will be removing those that are PCs and are now NCs, but I don't want to loss their PC sheets so these new NCs will be moved to their proper private house thread with there notes in case someone wants to pick them up as a PC or if a CO-GM wants to use them in a sense.

The PCs from The Reach are headed to Blackhaven to meet the Houses from Dorne.

The PCs from Donre have reached Blackhaven and are waiting for the Houses of The Reach

The new player house of the Stormlands comes from this region and will have their intros soon.

Without given away anything I think this is the most I can say, but I do think that everyone knows they will basically all meet so the RP/interaction and posting should pick up nicely and progress more faster in the next few weeks.

 I would like to recruit, yes. I was recruiting hot and heavy there for awhile, but the results where Lukewarm, at best. We had a lady that was talking about playing a Sept for the House, not sure what happened to her.

 The sad part of this matter,  I was the new guy, a few months ago. We had all kinds of players then, but I seem to be the Veteran now. I know , it's the nature of the beast on RPOL, but it still stinks. Perhaps we can get a few new bodies for House Ashfield. Here's hoping. :0)

I have suggested that the next players wanted posting that we advertise for the houses that need people. The idea will be to offer Major NC positions and retired player characters to help continuity, but also allow new character for those specific houses. Mathys we are with you and will do our best to help bolster your house. You are to great a character to allow to fail.

Really, .... Its just the nature of the environment.

I have some games take a dive, and I realized that adventures or settings that focus on a player or group can end much faster. When if a topic and or the player is dealing with a general topic. The more general the topic the easier to fit in other players as they come and go.

SO with our game it turn our that a wedding of royalty is perfect. And then I add in the rest. Also I find that if each player has there know separate reason to adventure then again if one drop out it doesn't really effect the other.

Last note when we started. I made a call for players not to be heads or the house. One reason is the above. The leader drops and the rest follow (sometimes). I structures the game so that anyone can come and go as they like. Lastly I tough it would be cool for players to advance to lordship, it adds much more to the character when its earned and taken (gives a goal beyond just XPs).

One more thing Mathy's, before I remove Leon, I was going to pass his info to the Private thread and save him as an NC for you. BUT he never finished his creation, he kind of just jumped in and started IC.

 I see no point in keeping him. I was thinking he was a common born lad that scoulded Mathys for making a sexual remark to his older sister in a village,somewhere. Mathys liked the kid's pluck,and to do a "in your face" to his Father and older brother, made him his squire. Well, that was the back ground story, I had for him.

 If there is potential to make the finding of a squire for Mathys as plot fodder, I will drop him. He needs a Squire for the Tourney,so he is looking around for candidates.

I think the issues here is more the type and topic of the game. This is not always the style of play people are looking for.

Well, one of the issues is I think, going to be we all ARE in the same place... so that is... 15 players?  Is it polite to post a bunch on a board, between just two people?  Most people I know in these formats would wiat for the others to post before making another post.  Or at least half the other people...

Like, I was originally going to wait till everyone from the reach posted about how they would react to me just hoping off their wagon, though I did give them a polite nod.  I did like how Mathys handled it, however... a group of armed knights in full garb riding up on your group, should cause some tension.  Most didn't even seem to take notice of it.

However, again, this is just from previous experiences.  More people you have in one place, usually the slower the game gets, because people are always waiting on others.

The Reach is vast. Most of us may never meet. I am sure we will be in different threads most of the time. We are in The Stormlands, very south.

I have been thinking about how to split it up. I think you may be right the group may be to big for its known good.

But I also think if players stop waiting and just post we could see some interesting RPing. I will be moving it along by monday.

 I am thinking, Mathys is not going to a have a date to the ball.

I think the longer you take to set things up, the more likely you will lose more players as they wait for things to progress.

Meld the Balgair players to another House.  Just do it.  DOn't ask for their opinions on how to do, make something up like the marriage you suggested earlier.

Right now, people are holding their breath waiting on action to happen, so it's time for the GM to just make a decision and nudge events along, I feel.

I will be needing things to happen on my end... at least I hope so.  How many player houses are their now?

Kolwyn, Fell, Neumann, Ashfield, Ravenhowe, Kaldor, Balgair?  So seven houses from what I can tell?  And certain ones (like myself), are the only ones in their house.  So they don't play a huge role, but still, it disperses the player base some.  Makes it harder to find cohesion, and as they said, you lose people as they wait for things to progress.

I will be making a post shortly.  But given the fact my character has an agenda, as well as two seperate missions, I am not sure how much atm he will be interacting again with other players once this big post of stuff gets broken down.

We are done for sometime with houses. I'm reading and cleaning up threads now and will continue clean up until its straighten out.

I will be looking over storyline and background to tie PCs together and then I think even though it was not planned this way to split things up again. Not sure yet. or when if it does.

I know I'm not recruiting unless a house asks, we have a good number of players its just getting the timing and posting right so it flows a bit faster.

This game is very different than others because the players first keep things going in a free forum style then the GM adds things to cover the plot and keep it moving should it stall. Everyone have a very different reason for being in the Stormlands. Some say its the tourney and for others that is the reason. Some say its for the king and then maybe not.

Keep in mind players can slip up if they want, I can work with anything. This is not a module, yes there are some simple ideas in motion and that's meant to get interest.

I suggest merging Kaldor and Balgair!

That sounds good to me. Storm has done so much, I don't like presuming, but he is quiet right now. House Belgair is asked for help, and sends the ward and the bastard.

 So Mathys is sitting on a stool, at his own little fold out table, because no one wants him to seat next to them during dinner. An amusing thought.

 Question: Depending upon the time period and or country, it was either considered a right of a Knight to wear his sword at table, or would be considered and insult to the Host. Which of these apply in Wesstoros, and or the current rping area? Many thanks.

Insult to the host, weapon in the chamber is saying you don't trust him. Daggers were acceptable.

Are ther house guard supposed to be unarmed as well?

GM edit: "House guards can be armed, they are expected to be armed but they wouldn't walk in with all 20, maybe 2 to 4"

I understand your issues, I will add more tomorrow. I will give a chance tonight for players to post and then add some stuff that involves PCs that are not part of the families.

Looks like the House Fell players may have dropped of the board a little, its been a few days on all of them. My last posted was to lead them out of their house and start on the road to meet the houses that they were to escort to king's landing.

Are you guys and gals still with us? I will send rmails by Monday if I don't get replies. This is a HOUSE FELL ROLL CALL :)
