Balgus manage to block Alton's strike and chooses to counter it with another axe swing. This time, more accurately then his charge attack.

Balgus managed to grab the bolt before it strikes his eye, and breaks it with his hand,"Nae bad leg work lad, but that won't help when your against pure drunken determination." he says, and heaves his axe, then cleaves right through the drow.

Alton crumples in a heap at the dwarfs feet no longer putting up a fight....

"Ah, it looks like I won, cheer up lad. Your nae dead, though ye'll have ta pay for me drinks. Ha, ha, ha!" Balgus says and grabs Alton's shoulder to help him stand up.

Arbella, her holy symbol in evidence, goes to crouch beside the drow. Hands off, please, Master Balgus*! Moving him might injure him further. She assessesses Alton's wounds.

*I'm assuming she asked his name earlier.

"Oh aye, o' course. Your tha healer with tha pregnant women, Arbella was it. Good ta know tha lads in capable hands." Balgus says, leaving Alton alone putting his axe on his belt.

Thank you the Healer says while examining the drow.

Easiest way to locate a healer challenge a fighter to fight...

"Anyway, if tha lad wakes up, tell him he owes me those drinks an' I'll be at tha tavern." Balgus says to Arbella as he heads back to the Wayfarer's Inn.

Pickpocket walks up, realizes the fight is over, and that he lost his bet. A murmured curse follows a look of scorn at Alton, then he turns and starts walking back towards his shop.

Blaze sorts out the bets, and all are paid.

Arbella sees Alton is woozy and in pain. The cut is deep. She touches him and says. This is Arbella. HOld still. She intones By the grace of Pelor, let your pain be no more.
That done, she exposes the wound and puts her hands over it lightly. Blood, dirt, grime, and sweat puff out sideways from the wound, disinfecting it. Then she prays

My lord, please heal now.
Be kind to this drow.

The cut is nearly closed and other harms are lessened.

11:23, Today: Arbella Elann rolled 9 using 1d8+5.  CLW.

She beckons to the stretcher bearers. Of your kindness, put Alton on a stretcher and bear him to my infirmary. Alton, easy does it. You feel no pain, but any exertion could damage your body. You're going to have an overnight stay.

Once Alton is settled, Arbella gives the stretcher bearers two silver pieces with her thanks. (Isobel may be solicitous of Alton.) Arbella now touches Alton. I'm going to restore your ability to feel pain. One should feel that fighting has consequences. I recommend you have some broth, which Isobel will fetch and help you with. We wil talk later.

She goes to see about mother and child. If is awake, Arbella will ask what she's like to eat. Tea will be the drink, and plenty of it.

Lilly Farmer is is very happy about having a baby boy. She says they agreed to name the baby Joe; after her husbands grandfather, should it be a boy, and Lilah had it been a girl. Her face clouds in worry after the momentary smile.

Tears begin to fall when she says, "I'm worried about James. He should have been back by now. He'd know I'd come to town if something happened while he was a way. I left a can on the table like we agreed on should I have to come to town. James can't read, so that was my way of leaving him a note."

Alton and Arbella would be who would hear the woman's statements.

Statler looks at the rugged dwarf and raises his ale "ye got that.  They wouldn't even make good trainin dummies in the military!  Two hits...I've seen babes last longer!"

Balgus slams his fist on Statler's table,"Well tha'ss'a because that drow fellow kinna handle me. Who's ta say that I'm just a better fighter, if ye know any worthy challengers 'en ye can bet I'll either beat them or I'll last way longer 'en Alton." he says confidently and also swipes an ale from a random barmaid, flipping a silver piece to said barmaid.

"Then go find a real man!"  Waldorf shot back at the 2 coppers comment from the crowd.  Balgus seemed up for it.  The farmer didn't care.  A fight was a fight.  He'd watch the healer fight a puppy if it provided some entertainment around here.  He'd probably bet on the puppy.
