In reply to Garret (msg # 550 of the Old The Netherworld Plane - Game Thread):

A grin comes over the face of Pickpocket when he hears what you say to the lass. "Aye, aye. It was just a test, Garret, and may I say you passed it easily."

The girl gives you a demure smirk as she snatches the coins, tosses the tool pouch back to you, and flashes a toothy smile at Pickpocket as she races past him through a back door.

"She's a feisty thing. Her brother is all looks which works to his advantage in certain situations, but he's as soft as a creamed puff. She could whup him with a hand tied behind her back."

Pickpocket offers you a drink. "It'll do the job but the flavor is rather unremarkable," he claims as he fills a pewter mug and hands it to you.

"You're back early. Problems?"

Yeah boss, I did what you said, but it started getting wierd an I don't think Victor had good info about the temple an so he gave up.

Garret says a few more things and starts getting back to work.

Pickpocket takes a look at the amulet. While he examines it, he speaks.

"I'll follow up on this Victor fella; so don't you worry bout him no more."

He hands the amulet back to you.

"Take it over to Pulmer's Magic Shop down the street. Give'im this," he says flipping you an unusual coin. "He'll identify it for you."

After a moments thought he adds, "Consider it your pay for the last job."

Looking out the window, he curses softly. "There's a fight I'd like to see at the Inn, so I don't have time to talk right now. I might have something I'll need you to do tomorrow, so come by tomorrow evening to discuss it."

Aye boss,

says Garret with a grin, he twirls the coin back and forth on his knuckles as he goes to the magic shop. Then before entering he inspects the coin in detail to see if it is something he knows or he could forge.

Then he enters.

Hoi, Mr Pulmer? 'ave you got a moment?

He will offer the coin and ask for any info on the amulet and the 6 potions he has.

The coins surfaces roil as if a dark storm is crossings over them. There isn't any other image to be seen on either side. The coin is of no metal that you can recall, in fact, its lightness defies it being any type of metal at all. Fooling around with it finds that the coin is flexible even perhaps elasticized in some way.

You come to a dilapidated building whose sign says, The Magic Shoppe. You look at it with trepidation, and think it must be magic keeping the building standing. Tentatively you open the door. The door falls of its hinges, and crashes to the ground narrowly missing you.

"Squawk!"

A large black raven erupts in a fit of flapping wings from a perch it was using near the door.

The disruption is followed by another crashing, and breaking of glass sound that comes from behind a curtain near the rear of the establishment.

"Oy! Fire!"

CRASH!

"Hot!"

Bang

"Oh ow ooo!"
