Jacqueline pours acid, and then alchemists fire over one of the 'egg sacks' and steps back as it goes up in a plume of acrid smoke, although this time the clothes wrapped around faces protect against the worst of the stinging effects of the smoke.
Then, some of the smoke appeals to swirl together, becoming lighter and more translucent in the process. For a moment it takes the form of an elderly woman, hunched over and supporting herself on a stick, before changing into the shape of an attractive younger woman with flowing hair. But those are but fleeting glimpses, before the shape take on the more familiar, and indistinct, shape associated with ghosts, spirits and incorporeal undead.
