To the Players of my two games.

So. I go to the hospital for a few days and everything seems to crumble.
You'd almost think I was important or something. ;)

I really appreciate all the positive reactions I have received for my hard work on the setting. Sadly, it's not a labour I can honour right now. I can't manage the games and I will probably be absent from the community in general for a bit, before I return.

I am sorry to have raised your hopes and then dashed them. Mostly, I am sorry for not getting the games going.

In case you wonder, I will not be sharing the details of my adventures in healthcare. I was born before putting one's diary online became all the rage. I am, however, prepared to let you know that I am alright. Well, as alright as not running games is.

When I get back, I will announce it loudly. If any of you are around at the time, please join in whatever I will be doing then. You are all great people.

Ok I happy to run the Tower idea to give others a game.
If the other GM are happy to put up with me.
And The Chronicler can have his character as well.

I have time over next 2 weeks and nothing happening for Easter for me so I be able to get things up and running.  Oh and I have exp as GM and do run my own game on here.

Hey all!

So I am about to embark on a fairly epic quest DM'ed by The Chronicler, and there is space for 4 other characters if anyone is interested. Meat shield, healbot, trap and lock scouty-scout, and some sort of arcane type are the roles that need to be filled.

The characters would have gotten word about an expedition to retrieve an artifact and to guard the Wizard's apprentice accompanying them. There is a high likelihood of treasure to be found as well, and those chosen for the task would be entitled to an equal split of all other treasures encountered or their fair-market value (excluding the artifact in question).

The notice for this expedition is posted both in the Inn for the Netherworld game as well as in a place called Falcon's Rest (where you could choose to be from).

I would love to be your sneaky scout.

Victor, I will create a temporary OOC thread for you to vet potential players. I will put each of the above RTJ's in that thread once I've created it. Feel free to accept as many RTJ's as you want, and for that matter, as many players as you'd want to add to your party.

Ok, Victor, Applicant 31, and 28, Greb, and Tandon have been placed in Victor's RTJ thread. Anyone else interested in joining his game? If so, let me know, and I'll give you access too.

I've been running into this in my games, and I thought I'd make a general post instead of 9 separate ones.

I just wanted to note that in my games you can save slowing the game down by rolling anything you think is pertinent to the situation, even if you don't think it will work.

An example:

A player wants to move and flank a creature, but is unsure if it can be done. They ask (Day 1). I reply (Day 2). They roll the attack (Day 3), I post the narrative (Day 4).

In this venue for playing, any way to save time is warranted.

So, if they ask and make any rolls they think are necessary regardless of the answer (Day 1), I can answer and be able to update the narrative (Day 2), thus saving 2 days of game time.

So in that example, if I think he couldn't get flank, I'd just deduct the +'s, and move on. This goes for questions regarding skill checks, spells to be cast, and etc. I welcome that kind of foresight.

As I stated, and showed, this is already a slow way to play this game, and preemptively rolling whatever might be needed, helps speed things up.

I like to assume I don't get the bonus and then provide the modified roll as well, so I let's say I roll a 14, but I might get a flanking bonus, I would say I hit AC 14 (16 if a flank) for X damage...

The key is providing all of the potential conditions and letting your generous DM sort it out :).

Thanks. I'd made them public in case anyone wanted to see how each GM did their game, and or wanted to read what happened during any particular game. They've been left open long enough, and I decided to close all of them to reduce the clutter.

What clutter?

I will be getting some downtime with the family in the wilderness from 4-26 to 4-30-2018. So, I will not be updating games until I return on Monday. This will be a no device staycation at the request of my wife. :( . I'm jittery already.
