@willvr: anything special from the Tome that you think of? In general it is a nice supplement so why not use it.

I should be able to get by on light rations just in case she needs them. Tome of Magic has some interesting spells.

There are no major named temples in the Ten-Towns or Bryn Shander (edit:with a population of about 900). The predominant faiths in Icewind Dale are Tempus, Silvanus and Auril with small shrines in Bryn Shander.

No, there is no restriction. These are just the shrines which represent the predominant faiths.

Race is still a half-elf foundling with the Haat family and her language tutor was a Dwarf.
Not sure about 2nd level spells I'm thinking three might be fair, two base and one specialist added on.
Also might I suggest adding a bonus spell to 1st Level lists any wizard should get Cantrip if they can get it of course seems one of those basic spells.

Hm, I thought I posted about the choice of spells somewhere in a thread but I cannot find it anymore. So here's my suggestion for spells:
EDIT!!
- start with read and detect magic automatically
- pick one lvl 1 spell with automatic success, pick 3 others and roll against chance to know spells for those
- the same applies to specialists. He must however pick two lvl 1 spell from his school with automatic success and pick 2 more (no matter what school, except of course for those banned to him) and roll against chance to know them.
- the same applies to spell level two!
BTW, specialists should now forget to exclude the spells from the 3 opposing schools, which they can never learn.

*points to the invoker*
Still mulling over spells but mine should be fun one called Uncontrollable Thirst is funny, it makes a creature so thirsty it can do nothing else but seek something to drink even if dangerous like pure alcohol or poison or multiple potions they carry. ^_^

Ideas of some of these activities would be tapping maple trees for syrup, raising some goats for milk and cheese, some gardens of valuable healing herbs later on when I get the needed proficiency, planting some fruit bearing trees and bushes with protective fencing, have some honey bee hives and so forth be flexible.
I will need something to put money into and that a follower of Silvanus would do any agriculture would need to ideally be activities druids would like to get their support. She is sensible to be successful living on such land Druid advice is a good thing. ^_^

GM, 29 posts Sun 13 Apr 2014 at 17:59 | Re: Character creationHaven't thought about that because such a high level of Detail won't be required in this adventure. Just make up something sensible and integrate it into your background story. Remember that icewind dale is a quasi artic setting with not much Chance for growing thing without magical aid.

I figure I'll get 50 Hectare's of land with the druids helping select it for 250 gold. Unmodified but has potential later on for various uses lets say some forested, some scrub land with hardy native grasses in season and some potential for maybe panning for gold and the like. She will just be sensible asking for help.
Like I said she has to much gold and well this would give her a reason to adventure get gold for improvements. I will work on getting proficiencies to work on working the land later giving me a focus which is of value to me as a player.

not sure about the time zones but the weekend is nearing its end, unfortunately. Falia, Falco and Raissa have alrady admitted their character sheets (either from the mythweaver page or the ingame sheets). I had planned to start the game tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest. So do you think that will work for you?
BTW, the party looks pretty interesting so far :)
