Re: OOC (2)

If it's just a matter of carrying it, I'll be glad to do it.  Sounds like something a PC should do (as opposed to an NPC).

No offense Burne. :)

Just joining.  Thanks for including me in the group... Looking forward to joining the game.  Putting the finishing touches on Warqa, so hopefully should be ready to go soon.

I opened the new thread for the main group. Feel free to post.

Working on Warqa's backstory, so he should be joining the group presently.

I'll be out of town 11/6 through 11/10.  Posting will be hard on travel days, and iffy in between.

Re: OOC (2)

For everyone's benefit, here is the complete poem:

The Two united, in the past,
a Place to build, and spells to cast.
Their power grew, and took the land
and people round, as they had planned.

A key without a lock they made
of gold and gems, and overlaid
with spells, a tool for men to wield
to force the powers of Good to yield.

But armies came, their weapons bared,
  while evil was yet unprepared.
The Hart was followed by the Crowns
and Moon, and people of the towns.

The Two were split; one got away
but She, when came the judgment day,
did break the key, and sent the rocks
to boxes four, with magic locks.

In doing so, She fell behind
as He escaped. She was confined
among Her own; her very lair
  became her prison and despair.

The Place was ruined, torn apart
and left with chains around the heart
of evil power—but the key
was never found in the debris.

He knows not where She dwells today.
She set the minions' path, the way
To lift Her Temple high again
With tools of flesh, with mortal men.

Many now have gone to die
in water, flame, in earth, or sky.
They did not bear the key of old
that must be found—the orb of gold.

Beware, my friend, for you shall fall
  unless you have the wherewithall
to find and search the boxes four
  and then escape forevermore.

But with the key, you might succeed
in throwing down Her power and greed.
Destroy the key when you are done
and then rejoice, the battle won.

Luann is a TA for a college art prof. He is managing her in  an "informative" way. Was reminded of it by the above help.

Re: OOC (2)

I freely admit that I relied heavily on Gnicely.  If she suggested that the party do something, we (Corwin and I) went along at least 94% of the time.  And that was because Corwin and I thought she did far more work than I did in deciphering the riddle.  Corwin just played the part of "the muscle" doing as she bid, rolling along and trusting her judgment.

So both Crowin and I feel a little lost without her.  And I must say, I really like the situation.  It's similar to what happens in all the epic tales when the key character dies unexpectedly -- leaving everyone who was relying on that character to get over their grieving, get over their despair, and soldier on as best as they can.  I don't think I've been in a game with a similar situation, so I find it interesting.

But while I like the situation, Corwin does not.  He hates it, he detests it, he despises it.  Because he knows we can't really back out, we must soldier on, and unlike those epic tales there's no guarantee that we will rise to the occasion, figure out what to do, and win the day.  We may flounder around for a bit and die from hypothermia, having never gotten any closer to our objective.  With Gnicely we had a chance to figure it out -- now, all Corwin knows to do is stumble about trying anything and everything and hoping something begins to make some sense.

So -- I'm intrigued and am looking forward to seeing how it works out, while Corwin is grumpy and disgruntled.

Re: OOC (2)

This may sound silly, but just to confirm: for purposes of my sword's purposes, are these considered "avian"?

Re: OOC (2)

OK, more silly questions . . . How many attacks per round do I get?

I am specialized in long sword, which gives me . . . 3/2, right?  And I'm eighth level, which per the PHB also gives me 3/2 . . . . So is it 2 per round?

Re: OOC (2)

For weapon specialization use the UA table. For level 8: 2/1
