Re: Discussion Area

Since you can take Weapon Focus (grapple), if you didn't, then I don't think you should get the benefit as if you had.

In any case, the feat would override the main rule for CMB.

Re: Discussion Area

Well I will do what the GM tells, still without that one point She grappled and constrict the enemy, then moved him to the nearest place, and that should provoke AOO. If he try to counter grapple, Anna should have an AOO as well even if he has improved grapple.

Re: Discussion Area

It's certainly nice to know a level 20 wizard who is happy to cast Permanency for you.

The "Spellcasting services" description includes to caveat "If the additional costs put the spell's total cost above 3,000 gp, that spell is not generally available."

Of greater concern is that you're getting the equivalent of a +5 weapon enhancement worth 50,000 gp for the bargain price of 9,100 gp. I suppose that it's not really your fault. You asked the GM and the GM said yes.

In reply to Wren (msg # 459):

With a targeted greater dispel magic. How often will that happen? And beat the DC.

Even if it does happen, a quick trip (teleport?) to your friendly level 20 wizard will have it back up soon anyway.

I guess Gandalf, Saruman, and the others are all at lv20, and Saruman needs a lot of gold for some reason...

I envy the group fighting orcs. Our group is fighting something that kills melee characters faster the more you attack it. I'm a two-weapon melee character....  *grumble grumble*

Re: Discussion Area

You fight a boss level enemy we just fight with elites...

But probably our group would be more balanced against that kind of enemy, 2 archer, 2 grappler, 1 melee + lots of pets to slow it down until he would die from the arrows.

Is it possible that the Ring Wraith is not meant to die at this time,
especially so being that it would change the cannons storyline as to how many
there were originally to deal with by the companionship?

Nah, he will only loose his body, but do not die, except you have a weapon forged against him.

So you can still win and do not change the history...

I don't think the GM would give two groups enemies they are meant to overcome but the third group an enemy they are meant to flee from in the first encounter. It is supposed to be within the realm of possibility for us to defeat (though given our assumption of it being a ringwraith not destroy) it. GM just designed it in a way that makes it more tricky for our particular group which is more melee oriented. I mean, a creature that does 3d8+x damage every time you hit it is murder for melee characters. Especially melee characters designed around getting lots of attacks (like me). Unfortunately we were the least well equipped to deal with it despite our path being the one most likely to encounter it (considering story elements).

Re: Discussion Area

Seems we have the same problem lol, no melee can do anything. I guess Anna will just jump around in defensive stance.
Negative energy hit back much more than the enemy could, this time their armor makes them untouchable.

Re: Discussion Area

I really hope that kraken doesn't have the same negative energy ability the ringwraith did. Isn't our group so lucky. A ringwraith and then a kraken for our first encounters.... YAY!

disclaimer: It might not actually have been a ringwraith and this might not actually be a kraken. I am drawing conclusions based on the description of an unnatural black rider and something that is attacking from the shadows with multiple tentacles. Logical conclusions but not necessarily true ones.
