Re: Discussion Area

I am unfamiliar with all of the magical items so I searched for them on the d20pfsrd website. I have compiled this list to help everyone.

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/c-d/dimensional-shackles">Dimensional shackles</a>

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/h-l/jacket-poisoner-s">Greater poisoner's jacket</a>

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/m-p/mask-medusa">Medusa mask</a>

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/elixir-of-shadewalking">Elixir of shadewalking</a>

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/elixir-of-vision">Elixir of vision</a>

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/discoveries/paizo---alchemist-discoveries/elixir-of-life">Elixir of life</a>

According to the website, the elixir of life has to be administered by the alchemist who brewed it.

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/elixir-of-luck">Elixir of luck</a>

According to the website, the elixir of luck grants hero points. Are we using hero points in this game?

<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/elixer-of-dragon-breath">Elixir of black dragon breath</a>

I could not find black ambrosia, although I did find <a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/herbs-oils-other-substances#TOC-Ambrosia">ambrosia</a>.

I could not find elixir of misfortune, but I did find <a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/bottled-misfortune">bottled misfortune</a>. (Bottled misfortune expires 24 hours after its creation.)

I could not find the artificer's monocle, shadowmask, mask of fury, elixir of the frost lords, elixir of the skylords, Aesculapius's elixir, Poceanatus's (or Poceantus's) wondrous restorative or amazing extender described on the website, or with a general Google search.

In reply to Borun Redbeard (msg # 488):

Huh, for some reason the HTML code doesn't work on this page. It works just fine on my own game's test page.

Edit: apparently only GMs have the HTML properly rendered.

Re: Discussion Area

Not to waste all that effort of yours, I've copied it to a new post and the links seem to be working. I'm glad you found a lot of them, as I don't remember where I got them from!

Dimensional shackles

Greater poisoner's jacket

Medusa mask

Elixir of shadewalking

Elixir of vision

Elixir of life

According to the website, the elixir of life has to be administered by the alchemist who brewed it. This particular version can be admininstered by anyone.

Elixir of luck

According to the website, the elixir of luck grants hero points. Are we using hero points in this game? No, we weren't using hero points, so this one will give you a +2 luck bonus on all rolls for an hour.

Elixir of black dragon breath

I could not find black ambrosia, although I did find ambrosia.

Black Ambrosia is a special my group made up years and years ago. Since Ambrosia was supposed to be the 'food of the gods', our premise was that mortals had trouble handling it. It has a random effect, not all of which are 'good'. The secrets of using it are in the book.

I could not find elixir of misfortune, but I did find bottled misfortune. (Bottled misfortune expires 24 hours after its creation.)

Essentially, this is the opposite of Elixir of Luck, but as an elixir, it doesn't expire until consumed.

I could not find the artificer's monocle, shadowmask, mask of fury, elixir of the frost lords, elixir of the skylords, Aesculapius's elixir, Poceanatus's (or Poceantus's) wondrous restorative or amazing extender described on the website, or with a general Google search.

<orange>Artificer's Monocle is Pathfinder. I thought the Shadowmask and Mask of Fury were from the Prestige Class that dealt with masks; I'll have to look that up. I may have named them incorrectly.

Elixir of the Frost Lords and Elixir of Skylords are homebrewed items.

Aesculapius's Elixir is an ultra healing potion, one step short of Elxir of Life.

Poceantus is a homegrown super-alchemist, and invented a number of extraordinary potions. Wondrous Restorative removes all ability score damage and restores all ability score drains, plus it removes all disability conditions (fatigue, exhaustion, blindness, deafness, etc.). Amazing Extender increases the duration of any potion already drunk but whose effects haven't yet expired to 24 hours.

Re: Discussion Area

The Mask of Fury is the Savage persona mask from the Master of Masks Prestige Class; it was crafted by a 5th level Master of Masks.

The Shadowmask is the Assassin persona mask from the Master of Masks Prestige Class; it was crafted by a 5th level Master of Masks.

It looks like I just gave them a 'more interesting' name once they were removed from the Master of Masks.

Re: Discussion Area

I guess that <a href="http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Master_of_Masks_(3.5e_Prestige_Class)">this</a> is the Master of Masks prestige class.

The masks become more powerful at higher level. How much sneak attack and claw damage do our masks provide?

Re: Discussion Area

The masks have 5th level powers.

So the Shadowmask lets you do +3d6 sneak attack damage, gives you +5 bonus to Hide and Move Silently checks, and makes you appear as LE (if anyone detects alignment on you). It doesn't make you evil or even influence you in any way.

The Mask of Fury does 2d6 claws and gives you the CN appearance.

Trying to decide on things

Now even though combat isn't the focus, is there a table of the 'foes' so to speak, as I am a Rogue/Ranger and wish to select favored enemies

Re: Discussion Area

For those players who are still here from the beginning, I put up a Players Wanted post out on that board. I suppose I was only looking for 1 or 2 new players, but I didn't realize how popular a Middle Earth setting would be. I should have, considering the first time drew 15 players!

Anyway, I only put the post up this afternoon, and already have 10 responses. I'm editing the characters a bit more strictly this time, but so far, none of them seem 'out of control'. In fact, there really are some fantastic characters.

As Lady Isile pointed out, there are a lot of new characters under The Cast, so this is just a heads-up to let you all know why.
