Re: Discussion Area

Probably, but the holidaze have a tendency to slow down everyone's posting.

I'll send a PM or rMail to the three most likely players.

So the options are:

Carry on as is.

Possibly recruit a few new players.

Or just toss in the towel.

In reply to Azurak the Blue (msg # 607):

My vote: Recruit or carry on

Good story

You have two or three hard core players to provide contiguity. All games go through this phase. Keep posting like this for a few more years and we will finish the story!

Borun and I can both post fairly quickly. We can easily move to three posts a week if you wanted to. That would give the game 'velocity'

Re: Discussion Area

I get stuck between waiting to see if someone else is going to post, and whether I should post again. By the time the latter comes up, I suddenly find myself with minor RL problems... out of time, too tired, internet problem, RPoL down...

And then there's the old CRS excuse. I read posts, and then forget to reply, or think I have when I haven't.

We can try recruiting one or two more players.

Just keep calm and carry on!

Re: Discussion Area

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Santa brought everyone lots of toys and goodies!

Alas, Santa didn't stop at my house this year... probably because there aren't any children living here. Apparently being immature doesn't count.

Also, we had to send mom to the ER in an ambulance Tuesday morning at 6:30am. She had pneumonia and fluid in her lung. She's better now, but is still in the hospital. She'll probably get discharged tomorrow and go to rehab for a week.

Anyway, that's why I didn't get holiday wishes up before now, and why my posting was so screwed up.

I'm just now getting caught up on all my games.

Re: Discussion Area

@secure shelter
You get a new one each time. It's not a mass teleport spell i'm afraid. The shelter is made out of a material common to the area it is summoned in.

The spell that does what you want the cottage to do is secure chest which is much higher level and has a much smaller capacity

Re: Discussion Area

AtB, just wondering have we ever gotten exps during the game?  I seem to not find a area where they were given and its been over a couple of years worth. LOL

Re: Discussion Area

No, I never gave out experience points. I'm currently running so many games that I find it nearly impossible to keep track of the XPs earned for all of them. And some games don't exactly have them.

What I decided to do instead, because it takes so long to wade through an adventure, is just go with a certain number of encounters. I was generally thinking 2 major encounters, with 2 minor encounters equaling one major. But the distinction between a minor encounter and a major encounter was rather arbitrary.

In general, a group of four 4th level characters should encounter a CR4 creature that would be a challenge for them. Depending on the campaign, 2-4 such encounters should give the characters enough XP to progress a level. Again, due to the drawn-out nature of online adventures, I was opting for 2 such encounters.

Anyway, my intent was to have everyone progress a level before you headed into the new terrain.

So if you want to do that now, go ahead!

Re: Discussion Area

That's a really good way to give out XP. I.e. Ignore it and give people a level every now and then.

Thank you. Leveling up is always fun and it's nice to see characters grow

Re: Discussion Area

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

For those who may not have heard, eight days ago on Sunday night just after dinner, I suddenly developed a severe stomach pain--level 7. While I struggled with it for half an hour, figured it was probably food poisoning. It wasn't like any other stomach pain I'd ever experienced before. Then I wound up throwing up 4-5 times, though afterwards the pain level was only 5. An hour later, I threw up 2-3 more times and the pain level dropped to 3. And there it stayed. No more throwing up, and it didn't go away. I couldn't find any position where the pain was lesser, and it was too high to let me sleep. Finally called the EMTs about 1 a.m. and off to the ER I went.

A dose of femital (or something) dropped the pain to 1, and eventually it went completely away. However, the hospital continued to run its test to try and determine the cause. I'm not convinced that they ever did. One doctor concurred that it might have been food poisoning, but the other doctor concluded that it was a problem with my gallbladder and recommended I have it removed. He scheduled laposcopy surgery for Wednesday. If it went well, I'd be hope by Friday. Turned out it was in bad shape and required full abdominal surgery to remove it.

Let me tell you... in all those movies/shows when they talk about a painful wound to you abdomen, they aren't kidding! Every muscle in your chest and abdomen, and a few in your arms and legs, are all tied in together. So every deep breath, every burp, every hiccup, every yawn, every laugh, every cough causes excruciating pain! This is on top of the pain meds!

Every movement... sitting up, standing up, sitting down, laying down, stretching, reaching, bending... causes pain. One such movement at a time is usually okay, but then requires an hour of sitting still and getting over it.

Alas, the hospital's discharge procedure was rather inept on Sunday, and I wound up having to make a dozen such movements so that I could get my meds from the pharmacy before it closed. So after I got home and settled in, it took around 8 hours for the pain to subside.

It's slowly getting better, but will probably take 5-6 weeks for the surgery to completely heal and the pain to completely go away.

But, I'm back! Not sure how much I'll get to in the next two days... have to reorganize the house a bit as I'm mostly fending for myself.

Anyway, I apologize for the absence and lack of word.

*big hugs*  Having had my gall bladder removed as well as two c-sections and a hysterectomy, I totally understand what you're going through.  I never thought that simply turning my head to look out the window could take my breath away and don't get me started on coughing or sneezing!!  Take care of yourself and don't worry.  We're still here and patient, just as you've been patient with us when real life kicks our butts.  I'm glad it's taken care of and you are on the mend, hoping the pain eases more and more each day.

Re: Discussion Area

How many do we actually still have with us?  Lady Isle, Radagast, Tilaleria, Borun, and myself is all I can really tell right now.  It seems like Saxon hasn't signed in for quite some time so not sure about him.  If there are so few of us, it might be we can all teleport at once.
