If we have to post in initiative order... suppose there are N people, with an average delay of D. It will take NxD units of time to post one round.

Putting that in real units there are about 10 of us and the average delay is 2 days or longer. So 20 days from now, we'd get to the end of the round

Can I suggest that we just post in any old order. I doubt very much if the initiative will make any difference unless people have funky powers, in which case a little bit of skull sweat can sort things out.

In addition: the GM is doing a sterling job keeping this game going. Let's support him! Time to do those combat posts.

I would agree with you on that.  Allow others to post that are able and the GM can move their post along when it is necessary.

Well, that was kind of what I intended; just didn't phrase it well enough.

The only key one would really be whoever goes first, but even that's subjective.

I'm lost on the Initiatives.  Who's turn is it now?

Apologies for my lack of posting, but I've been sick this past week. It was bad enough Monday that I should have gone to the ER, according to my doctor, but by the time I saw my doctor, it had mostly passed. However, it did take its toll on me. My brain's been a brick and my body feels like it got run over by a herd of elephants.

I honestly didn't expect it to last the whole week, but then my car broke down on the highway on Friday on the way back from the doctor, dragging it out further.

My brain finally came back on-line yesterday, but body is still sore. I should start getting caught up on my posting later today.

Mostly I was using the Initiatives just for 'bragging right' purposes, but I also overestimated how much damage could be done by spell. Turns out, not quite so much.

So, as it turns out, the gorguns have all been funneled into a tight grouping... tighter at the front, still a bit loose at the back. The entangling tentacles are slowing them down so that they can't move forward.

Their CMD can't overcome the CMB of the tentacles, so all they can do is try to break free using brute strength.

What it's now boiled down to is essentially a mass free-for-all, so initiatives have kind of gone out the window.

If you've got some action to take, just do it. I'll sort it out once people have posted. Besides, there are enough gorguns to go around!

I feel yah on the medical bit. Just overcoming my own issue taking a shard of hot carbon steel to the eye. Still have both eyes.

Given that the combat has taken three months(!) so far, I have no problem with you handwaving the rest of the combat. The gorguns were certainly hurting me though: Borun lost a quarter of his total hp in addition to False Life temporary hit points.

At the moment, the regular players seem to be just myself and Tilaleria, with the others chipping in occasionally. That's fine by me. I don't mind posting once a week with variable input from others (although I would prefer more frequent posts).

My thoughts are that you have a small group of players that have stuck with the game. I admire you stamina keeping the game going. I for one want to find out the story behind what is going on!

If I was you I would move to posting about twice a week. Don't worry about waiting for people to post: if they aren't going to *shrug* carry on without them. Maybe get one more player: a new player revitalises a game like nothing else as they are brought up to speed. You don't need many though. Pick a player from another game you play and just ask them

We are gestalts that are very powerful. A game with a small number of people is lots of fun, and given the complexity of the characters small is much easier to deal with. Even a small group is viable and is much easier for you to throw threats at, and balance the game.

If you abandon the game, you'll probably start another one: you like GMing. Why not continue this game and see if we can start solving the mystery of the Ent Wives

That was always the intent. No instant teleports to the Castle of the Evil Warlord. It wasn't meant to be a short journey.

I don't see why not. I'm just as happy with just the three of us. If others come back that's fine. I do want to see what is happening with the Ent wifes.

Borun and I have 'coverted' our way forwards.

Are the birds attacking the main group or us?

Roughly how far away from the main group are we?

I'd originally thought that Borun and Tilaleria were 'coverting' up the stairs, but then you said you were heading in the direction of the approaching creatures.

If you are going with the former, the hell-hawks won't be able to see you 'coverting' on the stairs because of the side bannister.

If the latter, the hell-hawks aerial perspective will pretty much negate any 'coverting'... though they may not spot you before the others.

Yes, they are attacking.

O.o the rotting thing makes me want to air burst them with explosives... I have undead bombs

Try this then:

The group approached the Scarp, and spotted a long flight of stairs going up the cliff that switch back and forth as they climb.

Borun and Tilaleria began scouting ahead on the stairs. You got about halfway up the 250 foot stairs when the swarm of birds were spotted.

After that, your posts began contradicting each other.


So at this point, both of you are hiding on the stairs.

The others down below are preparing for the hell-hawks to attack.

Er... just re-read it. Not seeing the contradictions. Both sneaking 'ahead'. Which meant up the stairs.

So we are still up on the stairs.

Oh well given the speed of pathfinder combat, and the fact we are on stairs and therefore can't really use mounts, I suspect we are 'out of the fight'. How far away are we?
