Re: Discussion Area

Bleh. Still struggling to get caught up on my games. My brain seems to be in a fog most of the time. Supposedly, another week of recovery should be all I need, but that just may refer to the internal stitches in the incision. May take longer to get my energy back.

I can lay in bed and think about making this post while I try to get to sleep, but when I get up and sit at the computer, I just can't focus.

Managed to squeeze out a post...

Re: Discussion Area

Just to make you feel you are not alone in this... My brother just spent five weeks unconscious (and had seven operations while unconscious) then five months in hospital. Because he was unconscious so long he was in a fog for months. He's come out as weak as I can imagine. But two months later (now) he's getting lots and lots better. Mentally he is back to normal. Physcially ... well he'll be another year recovering, but he should recover

That was a long way of saying 'you should be alright'

Re: Discussion Area

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes, I'm getting better; it's just slow and annoyingly frustrating. I try to explain my problem because not everyone will have experienced that sort of thing themselves, though, strangely, there seem to be a lot more fellow sufferers on RPoL than I had expected. I suppose it's only really an issue when you're the GM and players are waiting on your posts.

Re: Discussion Area

*hugs*  You just worry about getting better.  The games, while fun and take us all away from grim reality, can wait and we understand in varying degrees.  I don't mind waiting and have recently had internet issues that were finally fixed yesterday, at least I hope they were.  :P  Again, rest and ease back into things as you can.

I didn't understand your post I'm afraid Saxon. What's 'Frogy'? It's probably really obvious but I have  a cold right now and my IQ has dropped 50 points.

Re: Discussion Area

S'all good. Saxon is from the old wood between Bree and the shire. It should be expected for him to be a lil strange. Well, insanely strange now that I think about it. I still have like 20 tricks that mimic things from the books.

Despite my total lack of understanding why are going into the city, I have to say the riddle was very clever! In a movie that would be a good moment.

I just had a look at some of the old posts and messages, and I realised that we have been playing for three years! Long may it continue. :-)

Re: Discussion Area

I'm sorry I'm not able to contribute to this current scenario. I'm temporarily pulling out of it unless something violent happens. I have no desire to make more statements that cause other people to feel down, and IC I can think of nothing positive to say about what we are doing.

I'm just 'not posting' you can assume I am there, looking seriously pissed at the back of the party. If something that would require my input happens please PM me.

Re: Discussion Area

I cannot reconciliate what is happening with the oaths we swore. In character I have called you oath breakers, and it is very difficult for me to think of you IC as anything but that

So I guess I leave, try on my own, fail, but at least try. I don't like constant posts of grumpiness whether it's me or someone else writing them.

If there's no way to continue on my own I'll leave the game.

Re: Discussion Area

Okay, I am officially done.  Tilaleria's writer ... you have been absolutely insufferable, run off other writers including myself though I kept trying to come back and work with things.  You are not giving the GM any trust or credit that this path is the right one and it's bled into the game.  It's really sad because this game had such wonderful potential but you have sucked the life out of it completely.  I really wish you would have just left when you said you were leaving but no, you have to keep trying to have the last word and make yourself be so much more than you really are.  You are a great writer and I respect that but I cannot respect what you've done here.

Re: Discussion Area

I could have sworn I posted this notice on all my games, but some seem to have slipped through the cracks.

Hurricane Irma came nearly over my community, passed just to the east.

The 85-mile an hour winds uprooted lots and lots of trees, blew down branches and signs, and blew down a lot of the wooden picket-style privacy fences, including ours. And took out power to 15 million people.

10.5 days without power!

Lost power on the 9th just around noon as the hurricane passed by.

No power, no AC, no lights, no stove/microwave/toaster oven, no hot water, no TV, no computer, no modem, no internet.

Florida. Summer. Hot. Humid. Sat around in the dark and sweated. Didn't sleep well, didn't eat much.

Couldn't go anywhere since most places were also without power.

For a few days, gas was scarce, because most gas stations didn't have power, and so couldn't pump gas. The few that either had power or emergency generators had long lines and then ran out of gas. Tried getting by on ice, but so was everyone else, and ice quickly sold out.

Finally got power back about 8:30 last night.

So now we're cleaning up the mess.

It'll probably be another day or two before I get caught up on all my games.

Re: Discussion Area

I cannot begin to imagine the horror of all that and wish you all the best in getting things cleaned up and going again.  Definitely be safe and don't worry about here.  That kind of devastation takes some time to work on and the exhaustion will be tremendous.  *big hugs*
