Yeahh.. don't get me started :3

Flurry of Blows:
A monk may substitute disarm, sunder, and trip combat maneuvers for unarmed attacks as part of a flurry of blows.

Hunter's Surprise:
Benefit: Once per day, a rogue with this talent can designate a single enemy she is adjacent to as her prey. Until the end of her next turn, she can add her sneak attack damage to all attacks made against her prey, even if she is not flanking it or it is not flat-footed.

I'm confused. You're such a nice person. Why did you bother casting the spell on me? :P

Egads!

So many of my peers hath already posted on the 'Red Leaf Inn Thread', and
I still find myself working frantically on Haldir's character sheet.  I've put a
lot of time and effort into the task already, yet I still have much to do!  Do I
need to start panicking yet!  Am I the only one still plugging away at trying to
finish up my character?

I don't even want to make an attempt at composing a campaign post until
Haldir is of a whole mind, and body . . . not to mention having a complete set of
learning experiences to guide his actions, no matter what he happenstances upon
. . .

Re: Discussion Area

I'm sure those that are posting like myself are still working on their character sheet.  We don't expect to be fighting so soon so this is all role playing and getting to meet each other somewhat I take it.

Re: Discussion Area

That's it exactly!

I'm not sure I actually have a single completed character sheet yet. Been answering questions all day!

I admitted our 15th player, and closed the game for new players. So we're looking at 3 teams of five.

While I hope we don't loose any players, RL often causes attrition, so the teams may get adjusted as we go.

That's good to know, I was worried too. I still need to write my character's description and background before I can post comfortably.

PS: I'm one of the question culprits. Thanks Azurak. ^_^

Re: Discussion Area

I have something like 18 feats to select so mine will take a minute to complete as well. I do have my whole backstory written out. Just debating whether or not to post it for all to see as there's very little of it anyone would know and what little they might would be from a very different viewpoint and/or context than it's written.

Re: Discussion Area

About the manoeuvres and agility: Weapon Finesse allows you to use Dex for all weapon based manoeuvres. That means Sunder and Trip with a trip weapon, Disarm with a disarm weapon, Grapple with a grapple weapon(there is 1 I believe), etc, etc. You'd still need Str for every manoeuvre that doesn't use a weapon.

Re: Discussion Area

Lady Isile: In your description you have her mother as Irime but have the father listed as Unknown.  You may have missed my suggestion earlier that in the history I created for Elured, his twin brother married Irime and fathered Isile (Elurin fell in love with Irime when she was held captive by Oropher (Thranduil's father) as a prisoner of war after the Sack of Doriath. Irime is half-sister to Feanor who with his sons made a pact to retrieve the Silmaril in Dior's possession and killed him and his wife Nimloth. Dior and Nimloth were Elured and Elurin's parents.)

If you wish to, you can put Elurin as Isile's Father, making Elured her Uncle.

Re: Discussion Area

Does anyone have advice on feats for a dex based melee character? The character will be focusing on critical mastery and shock attacks delivered via his weapon. The feats don't necessarily need to be combat orientated if they add flavour (For example, feats linked to the character's elven heritage).

So far I have this but can't seem to find other feats to fit the build:

1: Weapon Finesse: Use Dex to hit
2: Metamagic: Intensified Spell
3: Metamagic: Heighten Spell
4:
5:
5b (Magus):
6:
6b (Samurai): Lunge: +5Ft Reach, -2AC till next turn.
7: Dervish Dance (Scimitar): Add damage using dex
8: Improved Critical (Scimitar): Doubles threat range
9: Critical Focus: +4 to Confirm criticals
10:Metamagic: Preferred Spell (Shocking Grasp)

PS: I could add ranged focus but don't feel that it fits the theme.

Dervish Dance covers  Dex to Hit and damage  with scimitars.  No Need for Weapon Finesse.

Thanks. Unfortunately, Weapon finesse is a prerequisite for DD. It's a useful feat so I don't mind too much.

Re: Discussion Area

derp. right :3 Sorry~!

Fun idea: Consider Sundering feats - since it's based on your damage output (and I think you can critical constructs, now?) you could still slice weapons and armor apart?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Discussion Area

Elured: know anything genealogy wise about a female elf who disappeared anytime between 100 and 26 years prior to the current date? If so I'd be happy to make a minor change to my character's story to fit more neatly into the setting and history.

Ehrendil: Piranha Strike! It has weapon finesse as a prereq and offers the benefit of power attack for light weapons, though I'd make the argument it could be used for any finessed weapon (seek GM approval on that, though). Beyond that you've pretty much tapped all the finesse specific feats that don't apply to other specific weapons. If you are only using a single sword and no shield there is a scattered array of feats I might recommend. Basically anything a swordlord might take that doesn't apply specifically to the dueling sword. There are both offensive and defensive feats for the single weapon/free hand style.

Wren: You can critical constructs now, among a few other previously immune creatures. However, you can't critical objects such as weapons and armor. I'd make any sunder based decisions with that in mind.

It was exhausting but I think I finally finished my character sheet. Soooooo many feats. Not only am I masterful at two-weapon combat but I'm fairly good at disarming and way ahead of the curve at mounted combat. I'm also a passable archer though it's not a preferred method of attack.
