The Warehouse District
It's getting late when you get to the Warehouse district. It seems most people have gone home for the day.

"All right.  Lead me as close as you can," said Carapace.  "I'll see if I can track them from there."

"Okay, time to try this," said Xavier, and he began searching by smell.

Re: The Warehouse District
You get a whiff of a large number of chemicals that were moved through here. YOu follow it to a four way branch. The trail heads both to the north and the east.

Re: The Warehouse District
The trail eventually leads to a mammoth warehouse, easily the size of two or three of the rest put together.

The windows were here near the roof of the warehouse, and the inside of th ebuilding was very dark.

"All right," said Xavier.  "Going in."  He slipped inside the building-- he could navigate in darkness quite well.

Re: The Warehouse District
The warehouse was mostly empty, except for a few stacks of crates near the wall furthest from you.

Carapace immediately went to investigate the crates.  Sight or smell, he was going to learn what they had.

Re: The Warehouse District
You can pick up no scents from the crates, just the smell of the wood that they're made of.

That was downright strange.  He opened a crate to take a look inside.

The crate was empty and it appeared to be nailed to the one below it.

Re: The Warehouse District
Carapace first checked the one below it-- then, if it was empty, he'd look to see what you could reach by climbing them.  Or what was behind them...

Re: The Warehouse District
The bottom one was empty as well. You can see nothing in reach on top of them or behind them. However, you notice that there appears to be some sort of lid underneath them.

Re: The Warehouse District
The heavy door creeked open, clearly it was supposed to be opened mechanically. Stairs lead down into darkness with a far away light.

You can hear the sound of someone working on machines off in the distance.
