Re: Game Adverts

Celtic and I are just starting up a new game and am looking for some players.  My first instinct is to ask the people I already play with.

The game will be played using a ‘lite’ version of the DnD 3e rules  (no prestige classes and ‘keep everything simple’) in a home brew world.  I expect to make a couple of GM posts per week, although I generally visit RPoL daily and there will be scope for more interaction between players and NPCs etc.

Initially, the party will be heading into some inhospitable mountains searching for a hidden treasure.   We already have someone writing a character to take on the ‘travelling patron’  role, and we have Local Guides to lead the group into the mountains -   we now need warriors, mages and other  adventurers to round out the party ….

Visit us at link to another game if you are interested.

Re: Game Adverts

I am looking for a player for a Pathfinder game. It's set in a fantasy Earth where humans are beggining to take over from the original races, elves, dwarves and gnomes. It is called Kingdoms of Legend.

Re: Game Adverts

I need a rogue  :P  Some one with some nice sneaking abilities and who can spot traps.  I don't seem to be able to hang onto rogues ....

It doesn't have to be 100% rogue, and scouts are as good a thieves -  if not better  :)

D&D 3.0 rules with  restrictions - mainly because I want to keep things as easy and straightforward as I can  :)

Sorted already  :)

Re: Game Adverts

Carmin, if you lose your rogue again, I may be interested! It's my favourite class.

Re: Game Adverts

The party in my D&D 3.0 game (called Trident) have spent ages travelling cross country and then battling through the wilderness to get a  spooky smoke and steam breathing mountain – in their search for trident called Wave, which they believe is a holy relic of the sea/nature god Procan.  And one of the players had had to leave the game  :)

So I have a character in need of a player … But there is a choice of character.

There is Taron (a human Ranger) who was played by the  guy who has to leave, or Shamus (A half-orc Priest of Procan)  who is the party’s patron (he has been an NPC for a while)

Game is D&D 3.0 (although we don’t generally play the tactical combat as fully as we should)  GM posts are once a week or so -  but sometimes slip to once every two weeks – depending on what I have on - or other people’s post rates.

Detailed knowledge of the rules isn’t required.  Any one interested in  adopting either of the characters?

Re: Game Adverts

Anyone interested in testing out some D20 character build rules?

link to another game

Months ago we were talking about multi-classing in D&D,  and the conversation moved towards a D&D game without classes.  At the time I said I couldn’t see how it would work – and still stay D&D.  After all the whole ‘feel’ of D&D is levels, HD and classes.  But the idea stayed in my mind (a bit like an ear-worm) and churned around in my head anyway.  Then a few months later, I had an idea – and Classless D20 FRP was born.

Actually, it was nothing really new – I evaluated everything in terms of feats and feat chains. Then to get the balance, I added small feats and great feats to give more flexibility.

It has taken a while, but I think I have a working balance.

Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to build a few characters using the classless rules and see how they feel.

It is basic at the moment -  I have skills from Fighters, Thieves, Wizards and Clerics – although not all of the class skills have been incorporated  yet.  That is the next phase …

The Stolen Land

Life has changed again, the Classless system has goner by the wayside and I have a bit more time available for writing stuff and playing ...  so ...

A Pathfinder game based on the Kingmaker AP, with opportunities to go exploring and to build your own stronghold in the wildlands between Brevoy and The River Kingdoms.  However, if you decide you don't want to go stronghold building, that's cool, there will be  enough adventuring to keep you busy.

The game will use stripped down versions of Kingdom Building, Down Time, Mass Combat, Investing and Fame rules - without too much dice rolling, and next to no book keeping.  That should still leave us with a Role Playing Game, rather than something dominated by dice rolling.

Wow - That was really quick.  Recruitement closed :(

The Stolen Land

The pathfinder game I run, The Stolen Land, has some space for new players.  It is based on the Paizo Kingmaker AP, although it has been modified.  Some aspects of the AP have been minimised and extra encounter areas added.  Rather than being based on one huge kingdom, regional development will depend on characters building strongholds and/or developing merchant empires.

The current group will be advancing to 3rd level shortly, and will get their first taste of stronghold and kingdom development.  New characters start at 1st level and will need to gain a couple of levels (or so)  before they get involved with that part of the game.

It is a traditional fantasy game - so Core Races, Core Classes and most of the Base Classes (no gunslingers or summoners) with good or neutral alignments are acceptable as characters.

The Stolen Land

And I'm back ...  Games I play in  always get first crack -  before I go to players wanted  :)

I am looking for some players to take over existing characters in my Pathfinder game.  Before you go any further, you should know that I run a very traditional game with core races and classes – and I am no great lover of complex builds, retraining or over-optimisation of a character :]

The game is based on the Kingmaker AP, has a reasonably slow posting rate – and I expect to be running for years before we get to high level characters and the end of game.

I have three two characters who are in need of a new players.  Two of them were designed as  PC’s but their players dropped out very early while the characters were first level.  The third was a casual NPC who hung around and made himself ‘interesting’.  These guys come back in  at L2 -  group  they started with will be going to L4 and the group recruited in the interim will be L3.  However, you will adventure in a mixed level party with members from each group.

I expect you to keep the stats, basic class and background that comes with the character,  and then pay some respect to the broad ethos that the character has  expressed in the past.  Beyond that you can rebuild, from scratch, to suit your preferences.

The characters are :-

Borric d’Cordain – A L2 male human paladin of Iomedae.  He has a fairly complex background that leaves him as a foundling, taken to the Temple of Iomedae and thinks he might have some sort of Noble blood – although OOC that is very unlikely.   He is, of course, LG.

Adoven – Human, male Rogue1/ Bard1 – there are a few things that are important about Adoven.  He came from the North where he started work as a Sailor/Pirate/Fisherman working for the Lodkova family, so he must have at least one skill point in  either Profession: (Sailor or Fisherman).  He went on a trip to Restov (as an NPC) and came back with an interest in all things bard like.  He can’t settle down and doesn’t know  what he wants from life – currently he is CG

Big Job – L2 male, half-Orc barbarian. Big Job was always an NPC – and Ex-Bandit he was branded for his crimes and has sworn to ‘be a good boy’ – he has been so far and has built up a degree of trust with the PCs and main NPCs.  He is a bit basic and has a swagger and the ‘animal magnetism’ that bad boys often have.  There are rumours that he is both  well-endowed and available -  however, that must be played subtly, if at all.
