A tone that she would be more likely to remember from her childhood if her father had been around during her childhood, mind you, but sure.  Probably someone around the Inn used that tone sometimes, if that makes you feel better.

Yetta shakes her head.  "I think I know how to say, I would pair best with a white wine,, but that's all," she says, deadpan.

Tut. Schools nowadays.  What is the education system coming to ?!!  Being trapped in a grey limbo is a poor excuse for neglecting such basics.

Why I learned in primary school all those useful, everyday phrases such as "My, you have extraordinarily big teeth !" and "Please don't eat me !"

Re: OOC Chat #4

Your teachers were having you on.  You can't actually say "Please don't eat me" in Draconic, those words won't go together.  What you're saying probably translates closer to "Please don't heat me," though depending on your accent it might be "Bean chalice the adorable toaster."

"Elfs first!"

Brugar sighed.

"Ye can't imagine 'ow difficult it be to get a classroom full of young dwarfs to ever say such a thing ... until it be explained in the right context."

Re: OOC Chat #4

It's too late now to back out of the "Flying Mountain Crash Test Program" ... besides, adventurers are much cheaper than Flesh Golems.

D&D rules don't really cover it, so we can all be thankful I've got a copy of the Paranoia "Vehicular Accidents and Falling from Great Heights" table to help us out there.  :>

Re: OOC Chat #4

So I just looked at the map. In the bottom right hand corner there is a room that looks like it has small colored gems over what I presume are doorways. Is that a room we came from or one we can head towards?

Re: OOC Chat #4

In short, that's the room you came from.

The long version ... that was the first room you entered when you came into the tower. The "gems" on the map represent painted archways. After you went through the first archway (and were hit by a Confusion spell) the central chamber rotated.  Deducing that each colour represented a spell effect akin to the Prismatic spell types, you went through the black archway (which was then aligned with the corridor by which you entered from the external courtyard) ... which teleported you to from there to the circular room you see on the map.

Quick sitrep ... having major internet problems here - after an outage in the area last week, my connection box has been showing no signal strength indicators (I think it's just too weak to measure) so currently awaiting NBN techs to come and investigate.  Two appointments cancelled thus far as COVID taking them out, but hoping the third attempt on Monday will be the charm.  Keeping fingers crossed !  :>

Re: OOC Chat #4

Apologies for my absence (and to those who've already read this saga in my other games) - been fighting strenuously with our pool for the last three or four weeks ...

I already knew the chlorinator had given up (for those not in the know, that's the thing that converts salt to chlorine to keep the pool sanitised), but figured I could deal with the algae build up when I replaced it ... then the pool cover (which you need to stop water evaporating) reached its use by date as I noticed it was so brittle a part of it had broken off leaving a small opening.  THEN the pool started to smell.  Bad.  Soooo ...

We carefully pulled the old cover off, bundled it up and threw it over by the trailer to go to the tip ... to reveal the month-old corpse of a kangaroo.  THAT took some fishing out and after a month in the water was about as pleasant as you can imagine (rubber gloves and face masks were the order of the day), but we managed it eventually.

Then came the juggling act of trying to thoroughly clean the pool and get the chemicals back in balance.  Part way through THAT process the pool pump decided it had had enough too.  So that's a new chlorinator, pool pump and cover, plus an awful lot of chemicals ...

A lot of time and money later, and the pool is still a bit green, but today for the first time I'm actually registering chlorine in the water, which bodes well - I'll keep throwing the 'shock' quantities of chlorine in there by hand until it gets back into kilter, then I can hook the new chlorinator up and let it take over the job.  So we're finally in danger of getting there !  :>

The moral of the tale is ... next time we move we definitely don't want a pool !  <grins>

Now where were we ...

That almost makes me glad that I live in a maisonette, in an urban area of a damned cold UK ...

Hope you get it sorted out soon, mate  :)
