Re: Icarus Ship
Richard enters the alien ship and looks around in the airlock area in curiosity.  "Hephaestus, can you contact us here in the ship?"  He started to walk slowly forward.

Re: Icarus Ship
Ardens staggers in, his curiosity regarding the new ship bringing a halt to his muttered litany of complaints. "What are we looking at ?" he asks Richard/Hephaestus, clarifying that a few moments later with "Do we have a cargo hold or any storage area where we can stow our supplies ?"

Re: Icarus Ship
Chris checks the ship out. Bridge and quarters seems straight forward enough but the rest is odd. No true cargo space, no galley. Ship must get used for local trips only. Engineering was very different, he couldn't find a J-Drive.

"Store gear in that quarantine room and the grappler control room. There's two big compartments before the bridge fill that with overflow."

"Ardens and Rutger see what you can find out about power and engines and jump."

Snowy humps his huge pack into sick bay. Leaving it near the entrance, he starts to look over what is present. Both supplies and medical equipment.

Aye skipper." Rutger replied as he set down a box of tools. Looking around at the ship and scratching his head." Right on it. But if one tentacle tries to get near me I am breaking out a cutter."

Re: Icarus Ship
Ardens gladly puts down his burden, the challenge of this ship's systems being both more interesting and less physically demanding.

"Power, engines, jump ... got it."

The engineer elects to stick with Rutger on the basis that two sets of eyes are better than one and he's less likely to fall foul of any tentacles if the ex-Scout is on hand to start cutting.

Re: Icarus Ship
OOC:1/2 the marines/pilots are assisting the scout ship transfer and the other 1/2 gear from the boarding craft.

After directing the squad's medic (Lance Corporal Mike Sloern) to assist in collecting/transferring medical gear from both ships, St. John begins helping the transfer of weapons/ammo/marine gear.

Richard deposits his share of the gear as directed.  He heads to the bridge.  "What is the status of the ship's systems Hephaestus?  What is online and what needs to be started up?  How much of the ship can you run autonomously?"

Re: Icarus Ship
" Looks like jump one back here, but shes got enough fuel for three jumps in storage." Rutger reported as he emerged from one engineering space." Shes not very fast, from the looks of these engines, but she has a pop up turret which might come in handy...I'm surprised I can even tell what is what back here I was expecting something a lot more...alien." He handed the skipper a tablet containing his notes on the system and what he had checked out so far. Leaving a copy on a table where anyone who waned to look it over could find it."Give me a bit to run a few tests of her systems and she's good to go."

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)

CThe ship is electrically operated from the power of a fusion reactor. The drives are ion and the J-drive is only 1, but is designed for multiple jumps, maybe 3-5 of them.

It is armed too, with a concealed laser turret.

the ship has a 39t cargo capacity inherent to the waste space in airlock, quarantine and other sectors.

Meal prep and freshers are all in the 4 massive living areas and a complete ships locker. berths for 24 persons are present all sunk into walls.

36tons of coolant water/reactor fuel are present and usable by crew though apparently not standard per Hephaestus outside of cleaning.

Dina finds an out of way spot while gear is being moved and the engineers figure out the ship.  She is playing back recordings of Hephaestus, sometimes repeatedly.  At times she engages Hephaestus in discussion.

"Disturbingly familiar," Ardens echoes Rutger's assessment, wiping his hands on an oily rag.  The engines are, as one would expect, immaculately clean, but somehow Ardens, following in fine engineering tradition has still managed to get his hands filthy.

Re: Icarus Ship
The ship was built over a century to go and explore and find the supreme being who placed them on Andaria, learn more about the universe and seek out alien life as none has ever been contacted except that which was on Andaria in the beginning. The expedition was set to last 800 days, this was extendable, The ship had not yet turned home on day 726 when something happened. I do not know what, but I became aware here just a few hours ago. Further the accident was seven days ago but internally appears to have been 146 days ago.

"Or coordinates for position at time of accident ?" Ardens asks urgently, obviously hoping that whatever befell the derelict was some distance hence.
