Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
Jake was about to say something, when the man in the suit made his presence known. He looked at him, glad the mask was still up-and his name not given. However, if that was someone unfriendly, it would be hard to fight his way out of here...

(OOC-13:48, Today: Jake Montello rolled 3 successes using 8d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s. Perception.)

"Hello." Rue greeted him, a faint question in her voice.

It's not the Sheriff I trust?

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
When the elderly man reaches the bottom step, you hear a croaking voice leave his mouth.

Hmmm... I guess this is what the bottom of the barrel looks like?

He walks around to the front of the chairs, the low hanging light almost touching his head.

[Private to Jake Montello: OOC: You think you heard him stumble or miss a step on his way down. He seems to be a bit frail but walked in front of you without any issues.]

OOC: It doesn't seem to be the Sheriff, based on the description either of you have been given. But since neither of you have met the Sheriff in person, you can't be completely sure.

Jake snorted in a dark humor. "Funny. This is not the bottom of the barrel. These are the people who if they are killed wont cost their sides too much. You gotta prove yourself to get better than us. Sorry about that." He said very sarcastically.

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
Very well... the old man said. He took out a small notepad and pen from his coat pocket, flipping over several pages before looking back up at the both of you.

You are Jake, Boo's man. He pronounced, not asked. He looked at the young woman and said. That makes you Rue, Childe of Piotr.

I am Mr. Sutherland. I will be handling communication and planning of our superior's needs for you. He waits to see any reaction before continuing.

What we need out of you right now are eyes and ears among our enemies. We have asked for one asset who can be seen and one who can remain hidden. These are your skills and we plan on using them to their fullest. He reaches back into his jacket and produces an envelope and hands it to Rue.

You will find a signed and legitimate letter from the head of the Carthian Movement operating in Detroit. It will give you access to the event Sunday night at Elysium. If they do any kind of checking it will stand up. Your cover will be an agent of the Movement trying to examine The Mayor's success at taking and holding a City as well as his decision to hold elections.

You, he looks at Jake. Will need to gain access and provide support for Rue if she needs it. From what we know, your abilities with Obfuscate should overpower the Court's limited ability in Auspex. Nothing in regard to the powers of the blood are certain, so use your skills to the best of your ability.

He flips his notepad back open. Do you have any questions?

"Invictus right? Well at least you are organised."

Rue looked the letter over, then nodded. "Okay, two things. First, I don't like meets. A message sent to will reach me. Second, do we prefer hard or soft leverage?"

"Sounds...risky. I don't like to go into a place without knowing most of the angles. Any word on security systems, electronic, human, or otherwise?" Jake said.

When Rue mentioned her email address, he smirked. "Are you the one emailing me all those boner pill ads? Cause you if are, I would like you to stop."

Rue tilted her brooch up to draw attention to it and pushed an earpiece across the table to Jake. "I'll be wearing one of these, and passing info to you through one of those. I don't guarantee that I will get everything of course, but I will give you a pretty decent idea of the environment."

She sniffed contempt at him. "Hmp. As if I need pills to give men boners!"

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
Mr. Sutherland looks at Jake before speaking, Security seems straightforward enough on the surface. The Sheriff has about ten Ghouls working the location's perimeter. One of his Deputies usually works the front entrance, but our sources tell us he is a Gangrel and most likely does not possess any proficiency with Auspex.

What has our superiors concerned and the problem we have run into in the past is that the Keeper of Elysium has some ability to find our spies in the past. We aren't sure if she is turning them or killing them, but two out of the last three we sent in, have never come back. The last one almost exposed us, coming back with something inside of her. Luckily a powerful Spear was able to exorcise the thing and destroy it before it had any chance of doing real harm to our efforts.

You Mr. Montello, are here because we believe that your Sire has given us an item to avoid detection and possession of the creatures under the Keeper's control. With your other skills, I don't think either of you will have any problems completing the mission.

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
That is our understanding of the situation. Until we saw the possession ourselves we had no idea that the spirits of the dead were capable of possessing our kind.

The old man looks over to the woman called Rue, I have been told that the item that your new partner has procured is only functional for the person carrying it. He glances back towards Jake, So while he thinks that he will be assuming all of the risk by staying outside and providing support, you will actually be the one on the inside, gathering the intelligence that we need.

Unless either of you plan on going against your Sire's will, I think you have all of the information you will need. Please see your way outside and try not to be noticed on your way out of the Sheriff's domain.

Jake proceeded to led her out of the club, making sure they bypassed most everybody as they went. "Just don't scream, move violent, or jump anyone, ok?" He said causally as they walked outside.

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats

The music of the strip-club can be heard from the street, the neon sign advertising the delights within. A large man greets the customers at the door, a black curtain blocking their view of the dancers inside. The women working the poles are athletic, thin and not too unattractive. A economically depressed city like Cleveland could never hope to score the tens that came from Las Vegas or Miami, but the girls here were charming in their own Midwest way.

Two small stages line the outer walls of the club with the main stage in the center of the building. The dancers appear and disappear behind the large curtain on the main stage, most likely to a dressing room in the back. The DJ's booth is off in the corner, an aging hipster with a cheesy radio voice announces the upcoming girls. The music is a mixture of new and old, most seem to be selected by the dancer's themselves. Beside the booth are the men's and women's bathrooms, and across from them on the other side of the building is the bar. A door marked Private separates the bar from one of the small corner stages.

The Eastbank of the Flats are well known for being the Domain of the city's Sheriff, the feeding rights won from some unknown accomplishment during the Purge. Although his Haven is a well guarded secret, he has been known to frequent several of the clubs in his small part of the Rack. Over the last decade since he has risen into the position of Sheriff, Carter Hayes has carried out three public executions for poaching in his territory. With the new plans and development of the Westbank of the Flats, the Sheriff has been petitioning for an expansion of his Domain. The Mayor has personally claimed all rights to the newly developed area until the construction is completed, a power play the Kindred of the Court have pointed out to undermine the Sheriff.

Re: The Hustler Club, Cleveland Flats
The Detective walked into the club. It was familiar, but different. The club had once been called the Onyx Heart. It had been more upscale, more elite. And it had been his.

That was before the purge. When he had been one of them. Now it was hers. His friend, his lover, his girl. Along with everything else from that life, it was all hers now.

Why had he come back? The man didn't really know. The Beast knew. It had taken the opportunity to take control once more. To become the driver after fifteen years as a passenger. It wanted Jacek to see what he once had and could have again. The money, the women, all of the blood coursing through the veins of this den of sin. And the attention. That the Beast demanded most.

The man still had a semblance of control though. He didn't go wild, throwing his power around. No. He just took a seat in the back and watched quietly. Eyeing his food, like a starved animal. He wasn't starving though, but his Beast wanted the man to feel like he was.

OOC: Just putting Jacek in a location. Will continue this as a Feeding Scene.

After spending a little longer than normal in the Private-Dance area of the club; Detective Barkowski exits the way he came in.

OOC: Heading to his Haven for the day.

I don't suppose an outsider like Jacek would be invited to the little chat; but the host does feels certain fondness for the Daeva after all! :)he also put a few things together at the Devitis Residence, that may help with this meeting.
