Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
Alicia stayed silent as the Vampires made their plans, but something was beginning to worry her.  The Smoker had come for the rod, and had been able to take it from Elizabeth.  What was stopping it from taking it from Rebecca as well?  Wounded as she was, the Gangrel would not be able to put up much of a fight against the Spirit, even if she were somehow able to see it.  Rebecca had patted her breast pocket when Alicia had asked her if she had it, while they had been together in the surgeons room.  She would have to take the matter into her own tiny hands.

So often overlooked by the others, she slipped away behind a cloud of Obfuscate, vanishing from first notice and then sight completely with a small expenditure of precious Vitae.  Safely concealed, she slipped around and reached her boney hands into Rebecca's blouse, palming the rod without even the barest whisper of her presence.

OOC:  Alicia Gallardo Covas, rolled 8 successes using 11d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 9,3,9,3,10(+3),10(+8),1,9,10(+5),6,8. Dex + Larceny + WP.

Spent a point of willpower on that, but I also regain it for meeting my Dirge of "Kleptomaniac," and fuffilled my Aspiration to "steal something important."

I'd apologize to Rebecca, but I told her I was going to do this before I posted.

"So... It's just the three of us then?" the Detective asked. He opened the passenger door and swung it outwards, hoping someone visible or not would get in.

"Councilor, keep us informed and I'll do the same. I apologize we couldn't have gotten to know each other more." Jacek had that sly little grin on his face when he addressed Rebecca, his Beast sliding to the surface for an instance.

He revved the engine, just a little, to show he was ready to move out.

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
Rebecca felt a pang of hunger she didn't really understand come over her as she watched Jacek get into the car.  Her Vitae reserves were quite full, she didn't know why an image of her sinking her fangs into the other Kindred had flashed through her skull as he had smirked at her.  She wanted to not like that little smirk, but something about it had been frustratingly compelling.

She turned to the two storm troopers and shoved them roughly in front of her, heading in the direction of the safety of her territory.  She'd get a motel, tonight, and see what she could do inside the heads of her newest acquisitions.

OOC:  Hey ST, should I play this out IC, or just tell you what she's up to in a OOC note?

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
No one save the could doctor could pierce the shadows that twisted about Elizabeth's form hiding each and every detail from the mundane senses in a twisting pattern of lies and obfuscations. Only those emerald eyes, her gender, and the raven flow of her hair stuck in memory but little things like the slight tilt of head to the side hinted at curiosity as she tracked both the conversation and whatever had her attention upon the phone.

It was a curious notion that the conditioning implanted in the goons could malfunction, go haywire, or otherwise fail to operate in a meaningful sense. It didn't necessarily make them useful tools... but it was something to consider. Her attention turned else where then as the sound of the returning car implied either Jacek's return or yet another hit called on another facet of the all night society.

"A wissse precaution. Take care of them and I'll fill you in as needed with my findingsss from the Divitissss' resssidence. Until then, ressst well Rebecca." the Haunt hissed with a faint note of mirth in her voice at the absurdity of the notion as she turned to greet Jacek. Her head nodding in agreement with the question as she moved around the vehicle and slid into the passenger's side seat with a forgettable sort of grace that hinted at the predator might beneath the veil of obfuscation.

Her eyes moved to the phone then at the return text.

No, one of the cleaners I've contracted expressed concern about a B&E at one of the people's homes that we need to, ahem, correct on their perceptions of the situation. I'll make arrangements to have it dealt with. she texted back with a casual calm to her written word.

[Private to GM:
Can Dominate conditioning be short circuited like that?
18:52, Today: Elizabeth Carrol rolled 2 successes using 7d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 9,4,7,2,7,9,7. Occult + Int + Spec.

Sorry in advance but faulty conditioning is something Liz would DEFINITELY be curious about especially given how it's been so heavily utilized against us.

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
OOC:  Yes, it could be short circuited by a bad command, or an order that created some sort of mental paradox for the victim of Dominate.

However, the zombie like state afterwards made no sense.  The only possible explanation for it would be that the goon's memories had been completely erased, leaving them in a tabula rasa like blank state, but that would take months of stripping their memories away one at a time.  Elizabeth would be aware of a bloodline of Ventrue who like to leave their thralls in such a state.  It's a stretch, but it is the only explanation that makes even the least bit of sense.

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
Alicia faded back into the collective consciousness, her absence only noticeable now that it had ended.  Like so many of her kind, she possessed the ability to slip so easily from the conscious mind.  One could never know what she was up to in the shadows.  It only added to the fearsome demeanor of the Councilor of Haunts.

"Stay inside, if you can't handle it then."

She spoke to no one in particular, stepping into the back seat of the car.  She looked so small and childlike, sitting there, her tiny frame engulfed by the vehicle.  It was so easy to forget that she was at least a hundred years old sometimes, and one of the more potent vampires of the current order.  It wasn't clear if it had been age that had fractured her mind, or her time spent under the heel of the Morrow.

Jacek watched the small girl-monster get into his back seat. He was surrounded by horror on all sides now and in close quarters. He hated that his obsession for revenge had required such contacts once again, but he managed to just smile and drive.

It took a few short minutes, but then they arrived on the street of the still smoldering mansion, firefighter hoses continuing to empty water onto the place.

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
When they arrived, Jacek tapped on the seat in front of him. It was a series of knocks, and should have been pretty obvious to both him and Pyotor.

"The guy's name is Lucas. Tip him well." He stepped out of the car and looked back in before saying. "I'm stepping out for a bite to eat. I'll be back before you can say... well before you can say anything I guess."

OOC: Going to a Feeding Scene unless someone stops him.

Dylan tapped the pattern, that Jacek had given him, at the door.

Dylan waited quietly for the man to arrive.  He asked Mary to make the arrangements for blood so they were ready when this was all done.

After a moment's pause, the codded knock sounded at the other side of the door.  The door opened, and a middle aged and slightly balding Kindred poked his face out between a heavy security chain.

"I don't know you, but you know the codes.  Who gave them to you?"

Dylan looked to his phone, typed out the name Jacek on it and showed it to the man.  His face showed the frustration he was feeling at his inability to talk.

The Vampire suppressed a snort.

"Out of the game my ass."

He closed the door, and the sound of the chain unlocking could be heard, before it swung open wide.

"If he sent you here, than that means you can afford my services.  This your Retainer, or are you here so I can clean up that pretty face?"

He motioned towards Pyotor as he ushered them both in.

"I'm good with faces."

Dylan just shook his head at the man's question, a smile on his face about the man's mention of a new face for Pyotor.  He pulled gently at the dagger in his throat as if it wasn't obvious enough, sticking out his tongue as if he was dead or dying from it.

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
"I guess you have more pressing concerns then."

The doctor said, dryly.  He motioned for Dylan to follow him, and brought him into a small side room with tile floors and a plastic couch resting next to a stainless steel tray standing on long legs.  He eased Dylan down into the couch, still sitting upright, and then turned on a set of flood lights that were clipped to the ceiling.

"Can't say I recognize the knife.  That's good, hate to think I'm making enemies with tonight's work."

He took out what looked like a series of small pry bars, and set to work, slowly parting the flesh around the gaping wound.  It hurt, a lot, but he didn't inflict any additional lasting damage with his actions.  It was surprisingly simple for him, all things considered, to remove the blade.  Maybe ten minutes work, a few sworn curses, and the Night Doctor was polishing the last of Dylan's Vitae off of the blade.

Dylan still lacked the ability to heal the wound, low on blood as he was.  It still hurt like a bitch as he turned to his phone once more to type something out to show the doctor.

What do I owe you?, the message read.

Lucas chuckled, though the sound was forced rather than mirthful.

Dylan smiled, and nodded.  He went to his car and came back with a couple of thousand and a cheque book.  He dropped the couple of thousand down, and looked at the man to see how much he wanted.  If cheques didn't cover it, he knew that the rest could be managed with ease.

Money came easy to Dylan, always had.  Funny how money had a way of reproducing itself without much effort.  When the transaction was complete, they waited on Jacek to return, and made their way to the Daniel's club to pick him up, stopping on the way at a couple of houses to replenish his blood.

He sent a quick message to Daniel on their way.  Let's meet up.  Pick you up in a bit at your club.

Out of the clinic he sent one more text out.  This was to his old phone number, the one that Jacek held.

Don't taunt me Jacek.  You coming or not?, the text read.

[Private to GM: Since they only have a couple of hidden words in the Ordo book, I figured I would add taunt to the list, to mean Ordo gathering.  He is checking to see if he wants to even gather or not.]

Re: Dellwood Animal Clinic
Before even getting a chance to send a response to the text he received, Jacek came walking around the corner, in time to see Dylan and Pyotor leaving the clinic. He looked different, darker, less human than earlier in the evening. The Blush of Life had faded from his skin, his breathing had ceased. In the short period time that Dylan had seen the man, this was the first time he was witnessing Jacek as a walking corpse.

His hand was to his sides, fists clenched in balls. When he got closer, the other two vampires could smell fresh blood on him, and even see a few drops sprayed across his cheeks.

"Let's go." he said, walking to the car and climbing inside.

Dylan followed quietly, as if he had any other choice.  He needed the blood first.

He sent another message out however to Daniel.  Change in plans.  I need you to meet up with Mek.  Names Michael.  He is no body, but is a good investigator.  Make sure he is safe.  If he finds anything I want you standing with him sharing the glory.  Keep me update on what he finds.  Two missing Carthians, Mr. Devitis, who you warned about the attack.  Frenzied that night and disappeared.  He is Tanya's sire, and we dropped her off at that Crone Pub.  Second is Malcom, Michael's sire.  Have Michael update you on what took place at the Widdershins.  I suspect more than two kindred have gone missing.  Find their political leanings, and if they knew Julian Ward.  Here's his number.  Dylan put Michael's number down.  Call him.
