It's hands down every bit as quality as Dresden and I consider DFRPG probably the best RPG I've ever read in terms of production value and fidelity of the rules and presentation to the source material. I've only got the PDF so far since harcopies haven't been released.

Mike Olson really knows how to optimize FATE for sheer awesome.

Wish his Kerberos Club Power Tiers made it into the System Toolkit.

My current favorite flavor of fate. The rules for custom skills are fantastic. (clear echoes of strange fate/kerberos/base raiders).

Currently playing in a ARRPG powered secret Avengers game.

Shadrack, I made that character sheet for my Atomic Robo game here. I just put it up for use in the other game as it is useful. I'm Knight Hawk by the way.

So is everyone else loving the Modes? I know I am. It's not necessarily the cleanest way to present and track skill progression, but something about it just works for me.

Yes, I think modes are excellent. I'm a big fan. At first I scrunched my nose up a bit because their initial presentation make them seem more complicated than they are, but by the time I finished reading I was all in.

Modes are very nice and work really well in making character creation easier. Even if you use Weird Modes, it doesn't take long to put together a character.

The Science skill is pure genius. Being trained in all sciences and able to focus and/or specialize in one or more sciences is really cool.

I've been working on a Fate version for my personal fantasy world. The big hurdle for me was handling combat skills. I want it to be easy to have some skill with all forms of combat but higher skill levels require a focus. Now, thanks to Atomic Robo, its easy peasy. I'm using modes and now have a Combat skill that works like the Science skill.

All in all, Atomic Robo is one of my favorite Fate games. It is simple and flexible. And I've never liked Refresh - Atomic Robo's method of making you pay for 'more power' is to simply give the GM more options. I love it.

Yeah -- definitely a winner, that Atomic Robo. And I hadn't thought of applying its "Science" paradigm to other genres, switching it up. Using it for fantasy / medieval combat could just be genius as well...

My physical book showed up today.   So pretty. It is softcover which I like, but I'm tempted to use some contact paper to protect the cover.

Neither. It's much closer to Core, but with some major modifications to character generation and several genre/setting specific rules added on.
