The Game: Chapter 13

Recap and Disposition

Billy and Xander/Abraxas/Sophia are in the grand stairwell of the Leireblomst facility on Ceto (Room U, First Floor).

Roger, Rebecca, and Basil have just finished restoring power the structure by means of a cobbled-together generator built directly into the power grid control panels (Room G, Basement).

The botanist Orville, the linguist Sapir-Louis, and the shamanistic Ibis round out the ground crew, while the shuttle and its pilot -- Peyton -- remain about 5km away in the only safe(ish) landing area on the mountain range in which they now find themselves.

The rest of their crew, including Kayla and Gestalt, is in orbit around the planet Ceto aboard the Mastodon Jr.

The Game: Chapter 13

In reply to The Watcher (msg # 1):

"Hoo doggie. Alright, we are back in business. Can you hear that magnificent hum, Nightmare? Pure magic," Roger says, heavy on the hyperbole.

Roger checks the gauges and levels on the instruments in the basement, then modifies the terminal wired into the breaker and master switch to send and receive data from his tablet.

After he reclaims the ragtag flashlights -- and their components -- from his teammates, he assembles four floating orbs and sends them scouring the first floor for the second half of the keycard and anything else of note the crew may have missed as they stumbled through the dark.

"'Nuff games," he says. "I'm scouting ahead for the control room. If any of Hitch's traps go off, it'll hit metal, not flesh."

They zip past Billy, Xander, and Abraxas as they begin scoping out the second floor one room at a time -- leaving the Wasper den alone for now. Roger's beloved pistol -- now stripped back to its base, bare elements -- is tucked into the holster at his side. An eerie blue glow emanates from his inside duster pocket, where he was seen to tuck the six cartridges he pulled from his weapon.

The Game: Chapter 13

When the light come on in the middle of Billy and Xander's deliberation Billy sighs, "And the game continues" he mutters with resignation.  He trudges up the stairs immediately, stopping only long enough to locate a way higher up.  When Roger arrives intent on ferreting out whatever may be there he tosses his borrowed flashlight but otherwise seems disinterested.

In reply to Basilisk (msg # 4):

Wait, Hitch said the map was down here.  Did we ever find it?

Rebecca and Percy split up looking for the map or ways further down.

In reply to Nightmare (msg # 5):

"Yeah, map in the basement. Got my beholders looking for it now," Roger says, tinkering with an object in hand.

The Game: Chapter 13

In reply to Yardbird (msg # 6):

Roger completes a thorough sweep of the basement, which consists only of the generator room and the tank room. There is nothing more to find in these locations, and his flying Beholders soon move on to other parts of the complex.

OOC: I'm going to need Reason or Intuition rolls for the search. I also need to know if everyone else is just waiting for these bots to complete their work or not. The second floor's doors are all closed and the Beholders cannot open them, so if you intend to scout ahead you will need to facilitate that manually.

In reply to The Watcher (msg # 7):

Unlikely 'map' is a metaphor or something abstract?  This Hitch doesn't seem very complex or deep, Basilisk rumbles.

He too stomps around the basement rooms poking into anything that hasn't been opened yet.

In reply to Nightmare (msg # 9):

Roger yawns, has a lightbulb moment and recalibrates the beholders’ sensors to look for hidden compartments, and yawns again.
