He raised a brow at this. Something fishy was going on here.

Progress!  "It's okay Meiou, I'm getting used to being properly sociable myself."  Tark, you are also at least twice the rabbit's size and have only angered people it is socially acceptable to anger.  So you have less to look over your shoulder over.

He asks Jamie, "Well, what exactly would the working conditions be like?  And how much of that gardening involves stuff that needs particularly safe handling?" You could have taken carpentry as your battle master artisan proficiency, but noooo you took up Masonry because of how much time your character spent dealing with mines.

Pyrus is loving this group.  Such helpful attitudes!  And polite too.  At least by comparison.  But then, his company hasn't been the best of late.  He figures Jamie has enough questions to answer without his adding any.  But he'll be curious to know what sort of sanctum this will be.  Jamie doesn't look like a standard cleric.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

"Well, I happen to be a good enough fortune teller," Jamie said as she gave Meiou a coy glance behind her. "My mama's a fortune telling witch, who adopted me into the craft.  While I'm not as good a fortune teller as I am, I do have my own path."

She turned back to the rest of the group.  "Good witch, in case you're asking.  I don't do wicked stuff unless I have to.  Like that statue not too far from here.  One shouldn't be mugging people without finding out what they do."  She gave what sounded like a mix of giggle and crackle.  "If someone's smart enough, they've found out how to reverse it by now, I put the instructions on him."

"It really shouldn't be too difficult, just a small victory like garden and light housekeeping.  After that, I'll be researching on the history of this region and the world around them.  As some of you may guess, some parts of the world's past has been erased, forgotten from memory.  I wish to help those who want to rediscover what happened.  Missing events, missing artifacts..." She gave Meiou that coy smile again.  "...missing people."

Now he knew something was going on. He kept his calm demeanor and casually replied.

"You don't say? I'll keep that in mind if I find someone needing that kind of help. You can't be too good if you just got here and haven't already learned something." he taunted as he finished his meal.

Zerry says, "Why do you think she hasn't learned anything? She's so good, *I* learned something without her even telling me!" She looks at Jamie and gives an exaggerated wink. "And I'll help you too, if ya need it!"

And that was the most she was willing to wait; she gallops over to be right by Meiou at an almost cartoonishly fast rate. "My name's Zerry! What's your name?"

If it was one thing he had learned in his training it was never give out your true name. " Alexander. " This way they can't know anything about you or your previous misdeeds.

When the rabbit said "Alexander," Jamie's pointed ears twitched a bit, as she recognised the name.  She gave a sly smouldering grin, but didn't say anything else.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

Tark makes a mental note to check his paper notes later for if he's forgotten something the word 'victory' means.

"Well, hopefully whatever you find about the past is informative stuff.  Instead of the 'Whoops we dug up something that wants to kill people' stuff." He has not really been able to find a common consensus about just how deep is 'too deep'....

Hmm...  Tark starts scribbling some notes for later curiosity.  Why do Elves always get away with twisting trees into unnatural shapes like creepy parasites, when digging through unfeeling rocks always gets all the stories of hubris and disrespecting nature?

He quickly chugged the rest of his mead. "Sorry to just up and go but you know how work can be. you have to earn the gold to keep yourself fed. " he said hopping up out of his chair getting ready to leave. he really didn't like the lime light and it was all on them right now.

As it so happens, Pyrus is looking into recovering bits of history too.  How serendipitous.  At least now he knows why the reference to "sanctum" earlier.  Zerry's antics continue to amuse Pyrus and he stands up when Zerry suggests following Alexander to his workplace.

"I have to drop off my prisoner at the constable's.  I'll catch up once my chore is complete."

With that, he hefts his prisoner and begins to do as he said.

"why me?" he says to himself as hears the hooves coming after him.
He breaks into a dash looking for somewhere to hide for a moment or two so he change.

The moment he does find a safe spot to change, he finds a wrapped gift set on it, addressed to him. With a card, with a similar scent of perfume as the note he found.  This time, more intense:

"By this time, I believe we met.  I wanted to discuss this in private, but things are getting a bit too chaotic.  I'll cut to the chase then.

I, Jamie Wintertouch of the Black Forest Coven, have officially paid off your debts.  Therefore, you work for me.  You'll be my assistant for the time being, which will involve finding more information about what happened in the past, including finding your old mentor, Pippkin Ducaine.

I assure you that, by bosses go, I'll be much kinder then what you expect.  In fact, since I know you like costumes, I thought I'd give you one.  Although I have to let you know, it's special.

Oh sure, you can dump this box and scatter your little bunny butt away, cotton tail for all to see, but I'm not without my ways, I can track you down.  In fact, I knew where you're going to hide.  After all, how else would you find this box?  Tee Hee."

"Ugh" he thinks to himself upon reading the note. He really cant catch a break today. That little witch had planned this all from the beginning . He hated it when this happened. Master Ducain used to do this alot to him.

He cringed expecting the worst when he opened the box to see what was inside.

In reply to meiou (msg # 50):

What Meiou found was a full body suit and head of a lady squirrel, complete with soft fur and a fluffy tail.  The head had a wide-eyed and pretty smile, and the body had a rather feminine shape.  Not unlike the female bodysuits Meiou was used to.

Inside the box was a longer skirted version of the dress that Witch wore.  On top of that was a pendant with a tag on the back:  Sarah, Familiar of Jamie Wintertouch.

"I'm gonna regret this.. " he sighed and took a breathe.
Luckily this niche was dark enough noone would notice him.

"Requip outfit 2" he said quietly as his attire vanished leaving him in the nude.
He then quickly garbed himself in the outfit in the box quietly and quickly readjusting the bracelet to her wrist after.

She shifted abit and adjusted her clothing before stepping out only to trip over an excited and speedy centaur.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

In reply to meiou (msg # 52):

The moment that Meiou snapped Sarah in place, he heard an audible snap, and he felt some thoughts enter his head.  He heard the witch--Jamie's--voice giggling in the back of his head.  Also, it seems that the costume had a life of its own, her smile widening and a sense of joy overflowing the rabbit wearing it. A sense of being thrilled to be alive.

"Oooooh, happy day," he heard the witch's say from inside her head, as Sarah bounced a little on her feet.  "I thought you'd never put her on.  I'm so glad that you decided to do so, Sarah.  I could really use a familiar who knows these parts.  Oh, and I wanted this to be a bit of a trial so I don't think I'll let you use that bracelet for the evening."

Before Meiou would ever think about it, Sarah had removed the bracelet and put it into a pouch in her skirt.

"Yes, Sarah is an enchanted costume with a bit of a personality, it's supposed to combine with yours as long as you're wearing her; a familiar costume, you might say.  In time, once you get adjusted, you can control her better than you can now.  But before then, I need you to take all of Meiou's things and send them to my room.  After all, he's supposed to work for me now, right?"

With that, it was Sarah's turn to give a bit of a chuckle.

OOC:  Meiou and I talked this out, and I decided on a plot device that Jamie had help enchanting back in the Black Forest:  A special costume that turns its wearer into her squirrel familiar.  In this costume, Jamie can use Sarah's eyes and ears and can cast spells through her.  After this evening, Jamie will let Meiou slip the Requip bracelet back on so he can change back.

Mechanically, Meiou might need to take levels in Arch Witch Warlock.

Since he's having trouble getting into the RP, Jamie thought about forcing the issue on the annoying little rabbit.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

The rabbit squirmed and struggled as he felt the suit take control of him. What the heck was this thing? What did she mean it had a mind of its own and he couldn't use his bracelet. This wasnt good. For the first time in a long time he felt poewrless to do anything.

She groaned as she picked herself off the ground before turning around to face the centaur girl. "OH MY GOSH ,I'M SO SORRY! ARE YOU OK?! DO I NEED TO CALL A HEALER? OOOOH MISTRESS DIDNT GIVE ME ANY HEALING POTIONS..." She seemed rather worried she hurt the girl though if she had it was probably just a scrape no real harm done. "Oh.. mistress is not going to like this.. I'm already late and now this.Bunny? No bunny just me "

"Whoops!"  Meiou heard Jamie say in her head.  "I didn't tell you that she's a total klutz.  I'm sure she'll be all right once she stops panicking."

Meanwhile, Jamie is sitting there in the tavern with a local brew, her eyes closed and giggling to herself.  'He's faring no better than I was when I was mama's warlock,' she mused to herself.

Well, that escalated quickly.  Everyone had left in a hurry over some reason or other... Well, Jamie was still there.  But Tark had traveled enough to recognize the signs of incredibly smug telepathy.  So for the moment, takes the opportunity to finish off his meal.

Oh, giggling?  Yeah, this is probably not very enjoyable at all for whoever is on the other side of that call.

He's returning to a most comical scene and smiles. "I'm sure Zerry isn't so fragile that she'll need any healing from a simple bump."
