NOTE:  The Pan/Jamie scene will be written down, to be posted later.

In reply to Igatho (msg # 416):

Jamie has arrived with Pan over at the tavern, and have just gotten a cup of coffee.  Darcy and Justin was talking about what kind of material would be good for Igatho.  "Light in color is important," Justin said, "so it'll reflect the sunlight.  But that about heat management under the covering?  The goal is to have Igatho keep cool."

Darcy nods. "Frost Giants have a low body temperature by nature," she said. "So the problem isn't dealing with retaining heat but to keep the outside heat away.  I know of some dragon scales that could work.  Preferably White dragons, or maybe Platinum."

"I doubt that any dragon would agree to be skinned, Darcy."  Justin said, "Last time I checked, all that cutting off dragon body parts and having them grow back is a myth, right?"  Then he winked.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Almost instantly upon hearing the words dragon scales Sassy pirouetted on over to Justin
and Darcy "Oh now while its quite true they don't grow parts back they do however loose scales naturally over time from fights and the like. Now say I could get some for our friend how would we go about making it into something for her?" Sassy questioned with a twinkle in her eyes grinning broadly. Justin likely knew this as I have or can procure what you need but it will cost you.

Meiou on the other hand was just collecting his thoughts when the frost giant came after him.
"Maybe another time. Bun just needs some time to himself."

"Reflective colors will also turn more heat back towards yourself.  Boring tones are common not just because it's cheaper."  What, you don't have a built in fantasy GPS without picking up a few things.

"Though that always goes out the window when it comes to magic or esoteric monster materials.  White dragons seem to be the only dragons nobody ever cares about though.  So you could probably run them over with a wagon train and the other dragons would start to clap before pretending to be offended."

Nathan's was piggybacking on Igatho's shoulders, singing "What Does The Fox Say?"* as she tries out different fur feels.

On the topic of the grown-ups, he chimes in, "Armor made out of dragon skin is used for the elemental resistance.  So in Igatho's case, it would make more sense to get her something made from a red dragon.  But dragons aren't fluffy, so I think she'll prefer something made of fur."

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Igatho does the cat cheek-rub on Meiou, then kisses his cheek, "Love you, Bun!" and crawls away to the others. She's in a super sweet mood. Probably because she got to do a lot of smashing / destruction just the other day.

Igatho then addresses the clothing topic, "Meow, why not both? Fluffy on the inside, where I get to feel it, and scales on the outside, mew mew!"

Pan watches the conversation with some interest, relieved everyone came home safely. She gives Meiou a glance and then turns her attention back to Jamie with a smile. "Clothing for a frost giant child. A perfect thing to discuss on downtime."

She leans in to whisper in Jamie's ear. "I'm gonna borrow Meiou for a bit, OK? I will be back within the hour..." She gives Jamie's shoulder a reassuring pat.

Last night was cheer up Jamie. This morning seems to be time to cheer up Meiou. The ordeal the bunch went through was not an easy one, after all.

Pan walks over to Meiou and says, "Meiou... walk with me?"

Darcy, Jamie, and Justin just laughed at Igatho's antics, and then they turned over to their own private conversations.

In the morning, when Pan asked Jamie to borrow Meiou, she let him.  "Go ahead, dearie," she told Pan, and then bent over to the rabbit, "Now Meiou, it'll be your first date with the panda girl so go easy on her, okay?"

He squirmed abit as Igatho rubbed against him and then shivered at the kiss.
After that he went back to his own thoughts until pan showed up.
He looked over to her and rubbed the back of his head. Maybe talking to
someone would do some good. He wasn't real sure.  "It cant hurt anything . So I suppose a walk is alright." he said just flat out ignoring Jamie's attempt at a joke.

Is that fact this isn't sarcasm make that better, or even worse?

Nathan flaps his wings.  "Chirp, I'm so happy you're not the kind of kitty that eats birds.  And Tark's right.  It is a good idea, tweet!  It should be a full-body costume.  Like this!"

He conjures an image of Igatho wearing a kaiju.  (( http://photos.costume-works.com/full/godzilla3.jpg ))

Then smiles and waves to Meiou and Pan.  "Buh-bye!  Chirp!"

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Igatho reacts to the conjured image with pleased squeal. She also seems happy that Tark called her idea good. "So we do the furs first!"

Igatho seems to lean towards softer furs just as much as normal people do. The softer, the better.

She then turns to Nathan. "I don't eat uncooked birds. But I do tickle them!" Even as she is attacking Nathan for tickles, she then looks at Tark. "If I'm a cat and Nathan's a bird, what are you? Doggy? Mouse?"

Pan gives Jamie a glance, a small sigh and then a smile. "Jamie, weren't you going to teach Igatho some magic?"

Igatho gets a big grin. "Jamie!"

With that, Pan walks off with Meiou. Once they are out of hearing range, she speaks to Meiou peacefully, "If you want to talk about anything, I'm here. If all you want is to walk, I'm good for that too."

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

In reply to Igatho (msg # 426):

"How you're doing, my pretty?" Jamie said as she gave Igatho a hug.  "Ready to learn something really awesome for ya?  I thought about which one to learn, and I decided on a good one for ya."

She then held up Igatho's hand.  "I know that you'll have problems picking up small objects, and of course, being a frost giant, you don't know your own strength at times, what if you had a magic hand that you can control, that can pick up those smaller objects and get to those hard to reach places.  You'd like to have that, would you?  With the potential I see in you, my dear, I think I can show you how you can have one."

And with Igatho's approval, the two head off and, over the afternoon, Jamie teaches Igatho Mage Hand.

Igatho says, "Magicat! Mew Mew!" and then looks at Nathan and Tark. "Birdy and Doggy can come with us! I can learn magic while we make fluffy clothes!"

(Although it makes sense for Igatho to wind up basically alone with Jamie to learn Mage Hand, I'm more interested in making sure the players can stick together. So Jamie/Darc, Tark, Nathan and Igatho will RP together until everyone is ready for the next skip. So Tark and Nathan, feel free to post now and then I can work on Pan's post.)

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Close Igatho, it's Tark, not Bark.

Though letting witches run off with babies is generally frowned upon, in this story one should probably be more concerned for the witch.  "Of course, Igatho.  It's nice of you to want to help Jamie learn to socialize."

For a lady with actual legitimate voices in her head, Jamie certainly has a habit of running off to be alone or with one person tops.  Best to keep her from becoming a reclusive cat lady ASAP.

Nathan's thinking, 'So long as what you're teaching her isn't powered by the spirits of the dead,' but he's fully aware that mage hand isn't such a spell.  However...

"Igatho, you should know that if you play with magic in a way that makes people upset, Jamie will get in trouble for teaching it to you.  Tweet.  Like if you use it to dump a cup of water on someone's head.  It's better to do that with your own hands than use magic for it, OK?  Chirp."

Pan looks down at Meiou, smiles and says, "So you're more of a one-on-one kind of guy. Nothing wrong with that. It is just who you are. And don't worry: Everyone needs alone time at some point. Even extroverts like Igatho. Even me. Although I usually feel very lonely without others around, sometimes I need to be alone for just a few moments to catch my breath."

Igatho says, "Thankie for calling me nice!" to Tark and hugs him before pawing at Nathan. "You got it, Meow!"

(Jamie/Darcy's turn. :) )

As Darcy goes back to doing her clerical duties while getting back in touch with Justin, Jamie talks with Igatho to a grassland not too far from the tavern.

"The first thing I need to tell you about is something you've already seen, Igatho," she said.  "Æther is the energy that fuels any and all spells, from the biggest ice storm to the smallest of tricks. I think you've seen it when we were with all those spirits, no?  Think you can think back to that time when you saw them all?"

Besides theyd just up and leave after getting their assignment where as i'd just either train or lounge around bored till pip decided i was needed.I just really dont know much about being in the group dynamic. Then the whole roasting/freezing thing happened and made me start questioning why i do it aside from the whole my debt excuse." he really was a jumble of emotions most dominantly doubt.

Nathan smiles and tweets to Igatho then laughs from Tark's comment.

"He's gotcha there, Jamie!"

With prestidigitation he begins a musical number with a dancing paper doll who sings with him.

♫ "You remind me of the babe
(What babe?)
Babe with the power
(What power?)

Power of voodoo
(Who do?)
You do
(Do what?)
Remind me of the babe

I saw my baby
Crying hard as babe could cry
What could I do?
My baby's love had gone
And left my baby blue
Nobody knew

What kind of magic spell to use
Slime and snails?
Or puppy dog tails?
Thunder or lightning,
then baby said

Dance magic, dance
(Dance magic, dance)
Dance magic, dance
(Dance magic, dance)
Put that baby spell on me!" ♫

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Pan considers her words carefully. Saying "because you are a good person" might backfire and make Meiou feel guilty, unworthy, or otherwise deny such a claim. Perhaps phrasing it differently. She looks down to lock eyes with Meiou and says, "Because you are a loyal friend. And remember: when friends do things that bother you, it's OK to let them know. Friends care about each other and I'm sure they will do what they can to prevent you from being upset."

Igatho claps for Nathan's music. She looks at Tark. "Yeah! I dreamed I smashed the mean magic man! Who do you smash in your dreams?" because everyone obviously smashes people in their dreams, right?

Igatho then nods to Jamie. "I'll try!" she squints her eyes closed and clenches her fists as if trying really hard. "Tay! Now what?"

"Whoa there, dearie, not so full force."  Jamie holds Igatho's arm up with her own.  "You need to use your mind, not your fist.  Keep your hand relaxed, and think about picking up the item with your imagination.  That's the trick behind the Mage's Hand.  It'll be a wee tricky to grasp at first, but once you learn how to do it, it'll be second nature."

Meiou continued walking with her till she stopped to look at him and talk. "Well its just how i was trained i guess. Pip thought stealing from those that deserved it rather than anyone was a right thing. Mind you i dont always follow that as i'm sure stories of my exploits have gotten around but I do follow the whole don't steal from a potential friend/ally. Despite what Pip tried to instill in me. I mean I dont know if i'm a good friend but you say I am so it must be true. " he said rubbing the back of his head at the last part blushing abit. He felt a nice bond with Pan. Was this what having a big sister was like?  He wasn't sure he had that right but she seemed to kinda fit that role from what he had read in books and seen in those weird discs he would watch .

"Good taste in music as usual, Nathan."

Trees and rocks are what get smashed in Tarks dreams. Because his dreams involve normal jobs rather than where life has lead him.

"Well, it's easier to imagine a hand while using your own. So skipping straight to the end where Igatho does not need to may take longer. Like asking people to memorize a book but not allowing them to take notes."

OOC: Sorry for the wait Meiou, but glad to see you getting some solid RP in.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Nathan smiles from the approval of his music and takes a bow.

"Thanks!"

He considers the tutelage of Jamie and Tark and expects that they're going to confuse the tot.  But honestly, mage hand isn't something you pick up right away in the first place.  There's a reason the stereotypical wizard is old.  Takes lots of practice before a person can pick up even the simplest of magics.  Well... a non-heroic person.  (Meanwhile heroic types can spontaneously pick up entire class features after the defeat of a monster.  Like that ranger who's BFF wolf just suddenly appeared next to him deep inside a multi-level dungeon while his tiefling buddy suddenly sprouted a pair of wings.)

So never mind!  Clearly Igatho will pick up magic with ease.

"I dream of smashing demons," Nathan offers, "And Tark's right.  Imagination is very helpful.  I know you can already turn water to ice with your thoughts.  This would be like that.  Only you'd think about moving the ice instead of freezing it.  Smashing things might help too."

He lays a small target on the ground then swings a staff over it.  "If you can make the target stand up with your imagination, it'll be smashed!"
