During ship combat I could man a secondary sensors station or coordinate gunnery crews.

Could function as security, I suppose, with a heavy weapon to his name.

At least I hope we will have something to do, or it is going to get really boring, really fast.

Presumably, though how we develop will probably impact where we wind up spending the most time. The most likely development for my char, for example, is likely to take him through some sort of tinkering class - possibly Gadgeteer. The skills and talents picked up there would translate fairly well to Engineering, even though he thinks of himself more as a pilot.

Gasden- Command- I can play the jerky commander who creates conflict and pushes his group. Will also be the field medic making sure you survive.
Tak, Mallios- Squad Leader of their squad of players/ redshirt minions. Sergeant Tak and Corporal Mallios?
Rick, Wes, Evan- Rick and Wes are leaders of their squad of players/ redshirt minions. Evan you sound you plan to move over to engineering so maybe the two other are Sergeant and Corporal of their group.
Lyla- Will be assigned a special operations roll separate from the regular squads. Other sneaky players can join her group as scouts/ saboteurs.
Each Squad who be a security shift on ship and work together. Then when we board another vessel is all hands on deck.
What do you think? Questions? Suggestions? Changes? Any ideas for crazy squad names?

Well, I'm not currently affiliated with the Rebellion except now tangentially, so I don't think I'd be getting an actual Rebel rank - would every 'privateer' have one? I'm perfectly fine operating under someone else's direction until I've proven myself.

For an official rebel rank you can be a trooper in SpecForce or a Senior Deckman. Those are your choices.

NX_Phoenix, 22 posts Quartermaster Alliance Supply Command Mon 21 Jul 2014 at 00:49 | Re: Ship Positions ManifestBased off of the updated and expanded section descriptions it looks like Tor is best suited for Operations Section. Although he likely would have some rank in the Alliance (possibly even officer track) based on his background and Duty, he wouldn't be the Officer of operations as 1) he shouldn't have that high of rank and 2) I believe Major Cet Willak fills that role as Alliance Observer.

I am now curious as to what positions everybody actually has. I'm not even sure what I am doing. I want to be boarding crew, but haven't been told if that is my position (other than by Gasden, but, do not take this the wrong way, I don't even know what position you have and if you have the authority to give me a position :p) So I was wondering if the GM could give us a list of our positions.

artteach, 26 posts Wed 23 Jul 2014 at 22:34 | Re: Ship Position ManifestI'm just trying to suggest ways to get the ball rolling for the boarding/ security. We can organize however the GM wants but it sounds like it is more find our own organization/ sandbox style. I would be willing to take over that section and start pushing us into some training exercises and role playing activities. If Lyla is Weapons Officer and Gasden is Boarding Officer it can also make some conflict between the two personalities.
Or Gasden could be first sergeant with Lyla in charge of the whole thing. Usually you don't put your sneaky person in charge of your troops. It is hard to give directions when hiding or undercover.
I guess we need some official crew list with positions.

Kron'Ossk fits well in a security/boarding party role, may be even officer, or head of a small patrol.
