The metal is simpleased iron, twisted and unusable without melting it down and starting over.

The woods are cheerful, teaming with birds and other fauna, but no humanoids.

Xar, I'm glad you're on our side Klale says admiringly.

Klale mentions The Duke should gather this iron; waste not, want not. It can be used to make garden tools. Come to think of it, he should have the other usable things gathered...maybe he's already making arrangements.

Let's go. I think tomorrow we leave. Which direction, that's those wiser than I to decide.

Toben nods in agreement with Klale. "We should head back to town and reconvene. Perhaps there is new information that'll help guide in the right direction."

The group returns to the town or tower as the case may be and begins final preparations for the next adventure.

[Discussion of where that will be needs to be made here before I can start up Chapter 7 with a proper title.]

Back at the base of their new tower abode, and while making preparations, Ourn cast his votes on various things.

"First and foremost, if we're searching for a heading my companions, I'd like to explore the possibilities of the Soul's Range Mountains. If I recall correctly, Ceven believed that there may be a dark Maiar there, Delunaur the Dischord of Fire. I haven't forgotten the promise I've made Mairen about going after her child. We also have Vanter's farm to think on. I'm wondering just how much our "young" Nessy has grown, and I'm wondering what her fruition to full Maiar status could do for the ailing of the Lady Tisha Stharane. But I digress.. The Soul's Range Mountains. That's my vote".

Ourn pauses for a moment. "Also, if no one objects... I'd like to make those fanciful daggers we recovered from the enchanted chests my new play things".

While dividing up the goods looted from the enemies, Toben recalls the dark star that ensorcelled Marien. "Perhaps we head to the Soul Range mountains. That is where Delunaur is, the one who forced Marien's hand. Maybe we'll even find Gwaelind there."

"I think that a wise course of action.  With out leads as to the location of another star it would make sense that we try to reduce the enemies numbers.  My only concern is if we are able.  When we fought the last dark star only thr song of thr body kept us alive.  We may need to think about our tactics while we travel."

Therion's Dutchy - The Dark Altar

Mairen arrives at the tower dressed in nearly white leather armor and carrying a short bow made of metal among some other weapons she still looks uncomfortable wearing.  The apothecary has spent a portion of her time quietly helping Saris, but also in training under Haethar for the short time the group has been in Therion helping the Duke.

With her is a young man who she introduces as Ryland Vance who makes his own introductions and  explanations for his presence.  Mairen, for her part argues heavily in favor of seeking her son, though she does not begrudge the saving of the duchy.

Ryland sweeps into a bow, addressing Mairen, then the group. "Thank you my dear. Now then, right down to business. You folks are traveling into the very heart of danger I'm told. I should like to accompany you. I quite frankly don't care where exactly we intend to head, nor how long it requires of us to get there. What I care for is the journey itself. The experience of it all. The sights, the sounds, and the tales that can be told about it. I'm an entertainer by trade, and truth be told, there's no lore to be had sitting next to a comfortable hearth in some dingy old tavern. I'm light on my feet, quick with a blade, devious as a cut purse yet loyal as a hound. I've come here to petition your band for partnership". Ryland stands with his arms spread wide, and eager expression on his face.

Probably your son, then Kllae agrees.

He smiles at the newcomer's speech. You know how to attract attention. The big man draws his hammer and takes up his shield. Draw and spar, Quickblade.

Toben raises an eyebrow and quickly interjects. "I think we have all been tested a bit too much the past few days. Perhaps a show of skill isn't quite in order right now, however, I think a bit of light hearted entertain would do this group some good."

Ryland smiles, claps his hands together and concentrates for a moment. A brief flash of teal colored light spills from between the his clasped hands. A lute materializes as he pulls his hands apart. He catches is as it starts to fall, and instantly begins strumming and picking, putting on a complex series of chords for around a minute. An unseen force permeates the room, giving everyone a slight jolt of energy and refreshment. When he finishes, he looks at Toben. "Not bad, huh?".

Ryland uses Inspire Courage +1: +1 to saving throws vs. charm and fear, +1 morale bonus to attack and damage

Toben smirks. "Well, I'll have to admit, that sort of zeal might have proven useful on the battlefield not long ago." He cups his chin with his fingers. "I don't recall seeing you around during the fight. Have you recently arrived? I'm sure I would have remembered one... such as yourself."

Therion's Dutchy - The Dark Altar

"Truth be told, I'm fresh off the road by a day or so. Mairen here was kind enough to fill me in on some of the greater details. Word traveled fast of a battle in Therion. A battle against an valaruakar army no less. For one, I had to see it for myself. Granted, I didn't cover enough ground fast enough to do much good". Ryland runs a hand through his hair, dropping his instrument from his other hand. It evaporates in the same teal colored light that gave birth to it. "Secondly, I'm a troubadour. I travel, I entertain, I make my coin. Through me, people get their current events, and they keep in touch with the world around them. So, naturally curiosity tugged me along every step of the way here. And so far, it's all been true. Strange weapons that belt fire. Green-skins massing up for a fight. And a band of heroes, triumphantly leading the charge on a suicide mission that ultimately broke the war-beast's back. I've even gleaned an interesting tidbit from a guard or two about a certain duchess taking up temporary residence here. Though that's none of my concern really until it's no longer relevant; wouldn't want to spill the ale on that to the public. Ah, listen to me now, I'm rambling. I should just stick to my music".

Toben chuckles. "The tales grow tall already, I see. We may have won, but it wasn't without loss. And I'm afraid the war-beast is far from broken. In fact, I fear this may just be the start, for now they know we are not ones to be trifled with."

He looks over to the bard. "This journey is not to be taken lightly. It has already taken its toll on even the most bravado of us."
