"At a guess, I'd say there are around a hundred weapons hanging on the wall," Thia points out. "It would have taken a lot of them to carry all of them. Most of them they probably couldn't use."

"So far, all we've seen them use are those big-ass axes."

"Besides, they were fleeing from an attacking force--us! They may not have felt they had time to loot this place."

The speech of his two companions isn't going anywhere...so the Barbarian attempts to scan the entire arena with his eyes, only to find the best GreatAxe around in his opinion.

THen, when found, he would simply grab it and show it to Thia and Ero.

"I think this one is well-crafted.

OOC: Sorry to hear you had COVID, Viridovix. Not that there's any good time to get it, but this is still a bad time of year for it. Sounds like you've gotten over it. That's a good thing! And it's not like it's something you can re-gift!

The weapons do not appear to be attached to the wall in any way... just hung there on hooks pounded into the stone.

There are two great axes--one on each wall. Though similar in design, they are not identical. The axe head is a slightly different shape, plus the one Viridovix selects has a short spike on the end. The grip is also wrapped in some sort of red leather-like material.

"Ero, how long do those lights of yours last? If you can do that for the rest of the room, you might as well do so. That way, we can all see trouble when it arrives."

"Do not worry," says Viridovix with a smirk painted on his face, "these Orcs won't last another hour, Ero. Trust me."

He decides to use this new Greataxe for the moment, the one with the leather strip. He shall test it on the next Orc he sees.

"Thia, you are a master with the bow. Cover my back while I go first. I know your aim is true. Ero, you close the line, you will hurl your sorceries safely and cause chaos among their ranks. Onward!

If none of them is contrary to his plan, it is very simple. Viridovix first, taking all of the bad slashes and cuts for the party, while they to the real damage. And, they shall delve in the dark tunnels...

Viridovix doesn't feel any difference between the new axe and his old axe, though it looks a bit newer... as if hasn't seen much battle.

He heads out of the room through the opening at the far end, the light from Ero's torches generating enough light to see that it's a hallway (as opposed to the rough walls of a tunnel) that goes about 40 feet before it opens into a dark room. There's just enough light to tell that the room is about 40-foot square, but he can't see any details beyond that.

Just then an Orc jumps out at him!

18:09, Today: StarMaster rolled 23,13 using 1d20+5,1d12+3 ((18,10)).

The narrow hallways prevents Viridovix from dodging very well, so the Orc hits him with his own axe for 13 points of damage.

Not that she needed Viridovix's approbation of her archery skills, but it did please her that he recognized them. So, bow drawn and arrow nocked, she was prepared for the Orc that leaped out and attacked Vir. She let her arrow fly!

17:42, Today: Thia rolled 24,6 using 1d20+8,1d8 ((16,6)).

Once more, her aim was true. She easily hit the Orc without even coming close to Vir.

The eerie from Ero's magick is followed by the crackling sound of ice on the orc skin. An arrow flies near  Viridovix's ear, a clear sign that Thia made a marvelous job with that bow. Tempos bless these elves.

However he receives a powerful strike from the monster. This one seems really tough! If it is still alive the Barbarian does the only thing he knows when a situation is dire. Following the path of his ancestors he fuels his own Rage with a savage warcry!

In battle, you fight with primal Ferocity. On Your Turn, you can enter a rage as a Bonus Action.

While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor:

• You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength Saving Throws.

• When you make a melee weapon Attack using Strength, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll. This bonus increases as you level.

• You have Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

If you are able to cast Spells, you can't cast them or concentrate on them while raging.

Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked Unconscious or if Your Turn ends and you haven't attacked a Hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on Your Turn as a Bonus Action.

Once you have raged the maximum number of times for your Barbarian level, you must finish a Long Rest before you can rage again. You may rage 2 times at 1st Level, 3 at 3rd, 4 at 6th, 5 at 12th, and 6 at 17th.

Even Ero's spell combined with Thia's arrow wasn't enough to kill the Orc, but Viridovix's raging critical resulted in a massive amount of damage--34 points! That Orc is splattered all over the room.

So vicious is Viridovix's attack that the other 5 Orcs in the room back off--apparently, they don't want any part of him!

The remaining Orcs were still a threat, so she couldn't just ignore them or let them go. Any promise they might make to be 'nice' would be broken the moment they were out of sight.

Given Orc nature, they were more like rabid wolves than intelligent creatures and had to be put down, so she had no qualms about shooting them with arrows.

She might get two arrows off before they came after her, so she was counting on Vir to take care of them in that case, with back-up by Ero.

17:01, Today: Thia rolled 10,8,28,5 using 1d20+8,1d8,1d20+8,1d8 ((2,8,20,5)).

Missed with the first one but second one should hit.

Viridovix sees red for two reasons. One, he is drenched in the stinky blood of the orc that was utterly slayed, and two his rage knows to restraints. Seeing the orcs fleeing like cowards maddens him, but before he can do anything else Thia's lethal arrows fly close to his ear. It whistles quickly, and then Ero's magicks colour the cavern azure. Bless these elves for their battle prowess.

Yet Viridovix charges again, carefully avoiding the burst of flame of course!

Thia's arrow hit one of the 'fleeing' Orcs... though there's nowhere for them to flee to without running past those threatening them.

Ero's Burning Hands spell manages to catch three of them.

15:45, Today: StarMaster, on behalf of Ero Sulaanin, rolled 8 using 3d6 ((2,4,2)). Ha! That's what you get for making me roll for you!

And then Viridovix smashes into one of them.

Thia's arrow was a critical hit, delivering 16 points of damage to the Orc she hit, killing it.

Ero's flames don't kill the other Orcs, but Vir's attack finishes off another one.

The leaves three Orcs remaining, two of which have been burnt by Ero's flames.

Out of desperation more than courage, two of the last three Orcs attack back at the only target within reach--Viridovix! The other Orc is putting out the fire.

15:51, Today: StarMaster rolled 21,10,8,6 using 1d20+6,1d10+4,1d20+6,1d10+4 ((15,6,2,2)).

The one Orc manages to hit Viridovix for 10 points of damage!

Just then, there's a flash of blue light and another person is suddenly standing next to Ero!

Ero recognizes the flash from when he was back in the mine! It's another one of those wild teleports that began happening after they accidentally unleashed the pent-up magic of the Forge! Fortunately, the results have all been benevolent--a potential ally was brought in. A quick glance at the newcomer makes him wonder about this one, though! He's some sort of lion-like humanoid!

A large leonin effectivly appears reaching about 7 foots and a half high, his imposing furry muscles stretching all around.

Looking clearly confused, he shakes is brown mane, roars like a savage beast and sheathes his massive greatsword, swinging it in the air like a madmen, his rusty scalemail making nasty metal sounds.

Slowly calming down for a sec, he looks his surroundings and says with an exhausted hoarsed voice.

"Goyle just appears... Where is he ? Are you allies or ennemies of Goyle ? What's happening ?!? TELL GOYLE NOW !!!"

He then seems ready to make a bloodshed as he impatiently waits for an answer...

Goyle quickly discerns that he has been mysteriously transported (probably teleported) to some location of which he's not familiar. It's a cave, squared off by Human hands, and it's the scene of a battle against some Orcs and three people--two Elves and a somewhat hulking Human.

By the light of a torch, Goyle can see that this appears to be a storeroom of some kind based on the shelves on both walls and the barrels. There are three Orcs still alive, fighting the Human, and three dead Orcs. The smell of burnt flesh is in the air.

In spite of Ero's words, Thia skips searching the dead Orcs for the moment and waits until the last three are dispatched.

"Mr. Goyle, sir, we're rooting Orcs out of these caverns so they don't threaten the good people of the village of Pandalin," she calls out to the lion-man. She's never encountered such a person before, but there are those among her group already almost as strange.

Of course, Goyle has no way of knowing the truth of her words, but since there are Orcs present to lend some credence to her statement and he seems to know Orcs are bad/nasty/evil, she figures that's good enough.

The range is a bit short for her longbow to effective, but she'll target the Orc that isn't being attacked.

10:44, Today: Thia rolled 7,7 using 1d20+6,1d8 ((1,7)).

Oof! That's a miss! So much for Plan A! Good thing she wasn't firing into melee.

The arrow misses the Orc, hits the cave wall, and shatters.

Won't be recovering that arrow!
