Like the 1st level spell, Tenser's Floating Disk, this spell normally creates a circular, horizontal shallow bowl of shimmering force that's 3 feet in diameter and 1 inch thick beneath your feet and that then rises and floats 3 feet above the ground. It normally has the appearance of a heat shimmer, but skilled casters can impart color to it. The spell can be cast on yourself or on another person, known as the target of the spell. The target then controls the direction and speed that the disk moves, but only up to the target's normal walking speed. The target does not have to ride on it, though, but still mentally controls the direction it moves. It can move across uneven terrain, up or down stairs, slopes and the like, even across water, but it can’t cross an elevation change of 10 feet or more. For example, the disk can’t move across a 10-foot-deep pit, nor could it leave such a pit if the disk was created at the bottom.

The disk remains immobile unless otherwise directed to move by the target, but it must be controlled at all times. It cannot be sent off in one direction on its own while the target does something else. If the target ceases concentrating on it, the disk just floats there.

The disk remains for the duration, and can hold up to 100 pounds per caster level. If more weight than that limit is placed on it, the disk winks out, and everything on the disk, including the person riding on it, falls to the ground. It also winks out of existence when the spell duration expires, if you move more than 100 feet from the disk, or you try to take the disk more than its height limit away from the surface beneath it. When the disk winks out, whatever it was supporting falls to the surface beneath it.

Note that the spell can also be used just like Tenser's Floating Disk but with a greater duration.

Certain of the spell's parameters can be adjusted, however, by a more advanced Wizard. For every level over 3rd, you can tweak one of the parameters according to the following table. You need to make a DC 18 Intelligence check to apply that tweak... at least until you've 'mastered' that variation by making three successful checks. You can also change one of the parameters by extending the casting time by 10 minutes for each change you wish to make.

COLOR:You can change its appearance from a heat shimmer to any transparent, translucent, or opaque solid color you want. It requires a DC 25 Intelligence check to give it patterns or multi-colors (stripes, plaid, camouflage, paisley, etc.).
DISTANCE:You can have it follow you up to 100 feet farther behind or closer at 5 feet.
ELEVATION:It can sit right on the ground or be as high up as your own height.
LOCATION:Normally, 'follow you' means it's behind you, but you can position it the side or even in front of you.
MOVEMENT:You can direct it to move around, whether you are moving or not. The side effect of this is that you can actually sit, stand or lay on it and have it move forward. It does so at your own walking speed.
RAM:Combined with Distance, Location and Shape, Speed now lets you ram a target as long as it's within 60 feet of you.
SIZE:You can make it up to 10% smaller or up to 10% larger per caster level.
SHAPE:You can change the shape from a round disk to a square, to a block, to a wedge, to a sphere, to a deeper bowl-like disk, etc. The bowl can hold up to 70 gallons of liquid + 7 additional gallons per caster level.
SPEED:Once you've mastered Movement, you can make it go faster, such as a double move or even as a full run!
VERTICALITY:Merely a variation of shape, you can make it into a shield or battering ram that moves in front of you that has 20 DR and 20 hit points + 2 per caster level.
