Malgrom and Derrick both took major blows in the fight thay have not yet been treated. Yet In this state, they come to the Temple. Karon hands over the coin/medallion given to him and states to the Priest "Cordule said you could help. These two were wounded and contracted the skin oil from a hypnotoad. It affected them to love the toad, which still lives."

For as long as he had been in the city, he had yet to see the inside of the Temple. He takes a break from looking around to glance at Karon and repeat his earlier opinion, "It was a nice toad."

"We have an standing agreement with the guard to treat in advance and be compensated at a later date. This coin is all you need present for services. I will have a priest look at each of you." He calls out to several others in a commanding voice. The priests stride over and each begins to evaluate the members of the group. Before looking over Karon the priest in charge takes the coin and places it in a pouch at his side.
"What kind of toad was this? Can you explain exactly what happened?" The priest assessing Karon asks to anyone who wishes to answer.

Whatever substance the Toad creature excreted seemed to make the victims adore and worship the beast. I'll admit our knowledge is far from complete on this, but we have figured out that the creature if was an animal, is no longer one, as my attempts to enchant it as if it was an animal were completely ignored."
Vun made an attempt to recount what happened in detail, although he likely missed something.

The toad is an aberration, much like a beholder or an aboleth. Which is probably why a spell tuned to animals didn't work, Vun. It has a technical name I do not recall, but in my studies it was referred to as a hypnotoad. It spit a yellowish goo on Derrik and Malgrom. No doubt there is still some traces of it on their armors. Examining those samples might help you cure them of their enchantment" Karon adds.

GM, 1365 posts Sat 23 Apr 2016 at 15:09 | Temple: Temple of the Mercurial DragonThe priest examining Malgrom takes a vial and scoops some remnants of goo from a gap in his armor. Holding the substance up to the light all of the priests gather around to get a better look. After several minutes of discussion they come to a consensus. "We believe this substance has compulsory magic. We will need to break the enchantment, but there may be some prolonged effects. All of your injuries seem to be basic. We can use some low intensity healing magic to help mend the wounds." Each of the priests proceeds to weave their divine magic through the wounds of the group. Cuts slowly close and bruises fade.
"The situation with the toad seems strange. I have heard of such mutations in the wild, but the substance the creature excretes suggests a purposeful creation through magic."

"It bears investigation. There are many things I can not explain happening in Valarez, and this... glorious toad is a good subject to track down."
Aeos looks at Flynn and begins to think what measures could be taken.

The guard's agreement does not cover the cost of this though, you would need to donate extra to acquire the antitoxin."
The priests finish up healing injuries and turn their attentions to breaking the effect the toad has over Malgrom and Derrik. They begin to chant together forming a circle around the two adventurers. The verbal components to the spell are chanted in unison until the spell is completed and the circle is broken.
With their business completed at the temple the group may finish their conversation and then head back to O'Malley's to locate Harsk.
