You're on a large asteroid station that services a very large asteroid miner population.  Habitat Module construction would be a major industry, locally.  Maybe not big enough for exportation purposes, but HabMods are what everyone is living in, y'know.

So I'm pretty sure you could easily find some if you went looking...

The question isn't whether or not I could come by one, the question is how much cargo space the ship can spare for me to assemble it; partially assembled (sans support legs), it will still take more than six squares on the map..

Might have to wait until there is free space in the hold. Every meter of cargo space is taken, including space on the launch at this time.

Evelyn Darque & Valeska Brandenberg (who's supposed to be my contact) haven't posted in a month and Montgomery Ashburn & Pablo Esteban Ryzov haven't posted in 2. I only read back as far as the arrival at this station, is that common in this game? For players to go AWOL for such long periods of time?

Eh...so-so.  We have slow periods, but we manage to keep puttering along.

Valeska & Pablo are Orphans--the Players disappeared, without notification, at a point where it was inconvenient to have the Characters just disappear, so the GM is NPC'ing them.  It's his policy to keep Orphans around for a while, just in case the Player disappearance was some IRL incident preventing them from communication, rather than that they've...abandoned us *sniff*

Vonon is behind you, though!  It's everyone else he's barking at ^_^

Okay, wait.  I was just doing some thinking--and Vonon must have had his head up his butt (he's a Canine, they can do that, you know), 'cuz I just realized that some of the things I thought were happening on the ship, maybe aren't...

First, I thought we were drowning in Engineers, but now that I look at it again, I don't think so.

Valeska had been "helping out" in Engineering, but now she's being assigned as the Geologist/Ship's General Science Geek.

Evelyn had been "hanging out" in Engineering--well, in the Air Ducts, mainly--but I had been thinking of her as a kind of "Junior Engineer".  She's now been assigned to Ship's Steward and Sir Walters Shipboard Assistant, 'cuz it fits her skillset better (in Vonon's opinion, at least).  If she's really disappeared...maybe she ran off 'cuz her new position would make her have to meet and deal with people, instead of being able to hide in the air ducts??

Khea, of course, is the Chief Engineer.  And a couple of the rest of the Crew have a few Engineer skills such that they could help out on a task, if needed, but that's it.

Why did I think we had a full Engineering Crew?

So, now Valeska & Evelyn are out of Engineering.  Sylvester has been brought in, Marcus will probably be brought in soon--both to Engineering.  I'm not sure I'm remembering this right, but didn't Horatio, initially, try for an Engineering job?  Before I shoved him into Drone Operations, pretty much making him Chief of Mining Operations, under Valeska?

Anybody know what Montgomery is/was building?  Another Engineer, or something to threaten Sam's position as Chief Pilot?

Hey, Serge!  You're not the "New Guy" anymore!  Congratulations!  In celebration, I'll give you a new set of duties--you are now (along with all your other duties) the Shuttle Pilot.  That means, unless the Chief Pilot wants to do the job, you get to fly the Ship's Boat and shuttle our butts around...wait, I already said that was part of your job, here.  Okay, then, now it's Official!

FemBot delivered an hour before liftoff! That's harsh! Assuming Reese actually makes it on to the crew, He will rush out at the last minute to pick up a couple of outfits for the scantily clad figure.

Having come up with the Skill Advancement rule three years ago, all I can say is that it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I don't remember anyone having any complaints against it, though, but now I'm thinking it was a bit more complicated than it needed to be. My biggest concern is that it doesn't necessarily let a player advance the skill for his character that he wants.

I've come up with a different system in my other Traveller games.

So, I'm wondering if everyone--including the new players--is happy with this system of Skill Advancement.
