In reply to Vonon Ronkunu (msg # 895):

Tescha was in the Autodoc, he was already healed. I guess Sly could plug them in. They just have a power cable.

Consider them installed and hooked up, Sylvester and Serge did it the first day. Serge needs a raise, good man!

Oh, yeah-yeah-yeah -- I'd forgotten Tescha was injured.  Right, he was in the Autodoc.

I do remember the Cryo-chambers being delivered ... but what happened to them after that, I do not recall.

Jack is going to check inside each one before he scans the ship on the ground and once again 10,000km out from the planet.

     Yes, but where?

Do we install them down on the Cargo Deck, for Passenger transport ...?

Or, do we install them close to the Med-Bay, for emergency medical use ...?

Re: Iltharan Ghost In The Machine

There are four Cryochambers that were installed in the Medical Bay. Jack's inspection ensures you that they are currently empty. Besides being plugged into the wall in the standard outlets designed for that purpose, including wrapping the cord around the hooks so that they can't get pulled out accidentally, they are also clamped to the floor. They aren't bolted in case they have to be moved in an emergency.

Okay, right.  I think that that is why I thought Tescha was stuffed into a Cryo-chamber -- because I remembered he was found in the Med-Bay, and the Cryotubes had been delivered to the Med-Bay ... thus One plus Three equals Googleplex ... and I've already forgotten what I was talking about ...  But I did have Pudding, today!

Val and Sly sitting in a tree...

Valeska Brandenberg:
"All the walls and doors were rearranged on Invermory. Sly and I are just moving in together into the 10.10 double while Dieter moves into Sly's 10.4 room and Tescha moves into my 10.7 room."

I was going to ask for clarification of that OOC (after Sly had mentioned renovations in this thread), since as far I could see from the Game Map of the ship that Val and Sly's rooms were not adjacent to each other (they were in opposite sides of the hallway).  So, 'combining' the two room would likely have involved worm holes or other quantum tunneling... :D

Revised Ship Specifications

While Serge was considering a supplemental trade option, he went through the Longshot and re-evaluated all the systems that he found in light of the modifications that had been made at the Invermory shipyard.

Needless to say, he found a few surprises. After some due deliberation, he came to the conclusion that the high cost of the repair drones was an Illusionist's trick--misdirection... getting people to look at the drones instead of the rest of the ship. The drone price tag was being used as a means of covering up where the money was really being spent.

There is a Counter-Measures Suite. There are a Screen and a Shield. And there's an AI (Conscious Intelligence) in the computer.

((OOC: Actually, what happened was that Serge pointed out that the ship specs were done with MgT1 rules and hadn't been updated to MgT2. He then offered to do that. I said okay.

He started it, but he was missing a few things... a few things that only the Referee (me) could decide on.

Now, while I made the modifications based on the work done on Invermory, the numbers seem to have come out a bit wonky. That may be just because 2nd Edition rules made some significant changes to starship building.

Anyway, if any of you feel like taking a stab at crunching the numbers to double check my calculations, be my guest!

If my numbers are correct, then the cost is nearly half and there's twice as much cargo space!))

Revised Ship Specifications

Turns out my tonnage calculations were off... way off.

I no longer remember how or why the repair drones were so high in price, so maybe that was covering up better programs.

Is that yet another one AI, besides TAMI?.. Weren't we aware of it / did we have any contact with it?

Serge Baklanov:

       Answers in order of question:

      Maybe ... Yes ... No.  ^_^

When we first acquired Longshot, we went over all the systems.  We discovered that there was a large chunk of computer resources that -- according to the diagnostics -- was "damaged", and the system was "working around" the damaged sections.

Though we had our suspicions, it wasn't until TAMI was put aboard, and she was asked to analyze Longshots computers for compatibility with her systems, that she informed us that the "damaged" section of computers was intentionally put into a "Secret Stand-By Mode", and that she suspected there was a "dormant" Conscious Intelligence in there.

And now you know the Super-Secret Truly Real Reason that Vonon and Sir Walter want to go to Concorde.  ^_^

We kinda-sorta "trust" TAMI -- but the "Dormant Consciousness" is an unknown, and we kinda-sorta are afraid of it "waking up".
