Re: Exploring Europe
Not So! ... and this fellow is trying to get you to sign documents sight unseen. He promises fine views, large rooms and best construction with inexpensive costs for fuel and such... His office is drab and a bit shabby...

Re: Exploring Europe
Tiffany glares at the man and tells her husband they are not going to sign sight unseen, the kitchen must be a certain way.

In reply to Master of Fates (msg # 963):

"Absolutely Not. They must be seen, and we will want to see these 'fine views' and the 'best construction' for ourselves. As for what is in the kitchen, well that remains to be seen. We don't hand over cash before we see things for ourselves and confirm that we are actually buying the place from the owner."

Re: Exploring Europe
Ummm Buying? I had thought you wanted to rent, the house is not for sale. The owners plan to return to it in the future.

OOC - I am not sure you have sufficient funds with you to buy a reasonable house without limiting your further travels some. A purchase would likely go from 500 up for something you'd be willing to live in. Hand pumps for water and out houses are still the norm. Lighting is still gas or oil lantern/candle. Electrification and plumbing is catching on quickly, but is still not common outside of cities. This far out, it's rare and pricy.

"Renting may be a better short term option, I suppose. But we still need to see the place before we see the contract."

In reply to Master of Fates (msg # 975):

Trevor laughed.

"Clearly not professional! Instead of doing what needs to be done, you respond like a common thug. Good day sir."

He backs towards the door, staying between Tiffany and him. Not that Tiffany needs protection, but rather because that is the right thing to do.

Tiffany will drag her truck along "Its too bad we don't have enough money for a live in porter."

Once outside, she looks at Trevor "You need to protect me, you know"

Re: Exploring Europe
The man chuckles... and he has but one house to rent...and everyone forfeits their money and moves out after a few days or a week. It is a sad affair, but he has fallen on hard times from trying to be too coy. But you didn't come to hear gossip, how may I assist you?

Re: Exploring Europe
I have several; in town or outside? how much land might you want around it? Servants? and how would you be paying, as I don't believe we have many arrangements with banks in the Americas.

OK NEW THREAD ... SETTING UP A BASE ... I'LL BE LOCKING THIS ONE.
