Re: Setting Up a Base
The Inspector is speechless... there are a couple other videos, one of some animals in a zoo cavorting about, and two of weapons being fired. The first is a small cannon which is shoulder fired from a bipod. The second is a bipod mounted machine gun ... both gather an immediate crowd of the men trying to see what is happening... Inspector Manley is aghast.

"Don't you have machine guns in this time?" she points out which one it is.

My God! NO!... It's ... it's horrifying.

OOC- The gatling gun is around in very small numbers, as it isn't very reliable with black powder which fouls in quickly. Smokeless powder is unknown yet.

Re: Setting Up a Base
Oh Horrors! ... That's what they were seeking, a weapon to kill many quickly, the cannon was nothing compared to the fusillade of bullets.  So that's why they went to the future...

Re: Setting Up a Base
They are from this time, I am quite sure ... I have a fair body of information on them. But that weapon is just the sort of thing they'd do...  we must find a sure way of ensuring that they never use it.

Re: Setting Up a Base
Well the issue there is we have to locate and have access to this thing... and I expect that means we will find our culprits as well. But It does tell us what the attack might be, which gives us a tool to eliminate some events and focus on others. Hopefully we have guessed correctly.

Re: Setting Up a Base
Inspector Manly smiles ... you think like a policeman...  uh person. Whysail is a manor, with a dock, several small villages and significant grounds around the manor house. It is roughly six miles to the nearest train station, a busy one, where connections could be made to most anywhere.  It rfits the sort of place they would need to a T. Now where they might be going from there is a more serious question. And how they might conceal this weapon while they travel is also a question.

In reply to Master of Fates (msg # 973):

Sounds good. Sorry for the belayed response, 4 weeks away will do that. Trevor would also be concerned about them going back and getting another weapon, perhaps even a worse one, if we catch this one. He believes the most important thing to do is to find their time portal, ultimately. But catching them is crucial for that too...
